Stopped by for my first time today and I wasn't disappointed. Ordered a burrito and it was very good. The portion was ridiculous which is a major bonus. I am a picky eater so I usually only get steak w/ lettuce and cheese and this often times leads to me receiving skimpy burritos but not at Jalisco. These guys gave me the fattest burrito I've seen in a while. It wasn't super oily like other burritos which is something else that I liked. It was quick and friendly which is why they received cinco estrellas in my book. Keep it up, I'll be back soon. read more

This place has the best Mexican food around the Burbank area. Their service is normally great unless you get one of the servers I don't know her name but she is very rude and pretends she doesn't hear you. I have never had an issue with anything other than that one server. The food is great like the burrito or tortas. The salsas vary sometimes they're are extremely spicy sometimes they don't have a kick at all, so I'm guessing they don't have a standard recipe. But if you go there make sure you get the spicy carrots, they are very good again the spiciness is different each time I go. read more

I have been going to this restaurant for YEARS. I get one of two things. Either veggie tacos or a veggie burrito. Both made the SAME way. Rice, beans, lettuce, and tomatoes. How hard is it to make something with just FOUR ingredients!?!? Yet, they still manage to screw it up. I've called and complained in the past only to be hung up on. I have been coming here for years. The Carne Asada dinner is my favorite. Don't forget the Chile rejenos for something vegetarian. The BEST local Mexican food! I love everything on the menu, most of the staff has been there for years and are very friendly, they get to know your name and are always smiling! (The juke box kicks in a little too loud sometimes for the afternoon and some of the songs that play are more for night clubs and not what my children should be hearing, but they will turn it down if you ask.) My friend decided to take me to this restaurant one day because he knew how much I love Mexican food. When we arrived I was kind of surprised and a little scared because from the outside, it doesn't look like a restaurant at all! But after we stepped in oh my gosh it was the cutest Mexican restaurant I have ever been to. They kept everything clean and organized and had awesome painted tables. Their whole menu is written on the front wall which was a creative touch. The lady serving us was a sweetheart and the environment just felt right. If you decide to stop by I recommend you try the chicken torta!!! It was the best torta I have ever had and ever since I've been here, I refuse to eat tortas anywhere else! So don't let the outside of the restaurant scare you because this place definitely deserves 5 stars. I've never had a bad experience here. read more

Simple restaurant, sauces weren't flavorful. Been here multiple times, they have steak tacos and al pastor that I have tried they were alright(Pacos Tacos is the place to be if you are seeking great tacos) my meat was burnt with a crisp. I believe it was the remains of already cooked leftover steak. Service isn't friendly and they point out the donts rather than making sure you have everything you need or are well taken care of. Needless to say I don't think will be returning even if I had a little to much to drink. read more

I used to come here for over 15yrs, mainly because its close to home. But honestly, customer service means a lot to me and its a dealbreaker, regardless if I like the food. The food is just fine, it's exactly what you would expect at a fast food Mexican joint. However! I will not be coming back because of the poor customer service. And if you read the other low ratings, you'll notice that everyone has a problem with the same employee! It's the one waitress who for some reason still has a job here. My wife and I went on a Sunday morning a few months back and wanted some birria, which is available at the small market right next door. The store and restaurant are connected and have a window where food and other items can be transferred over without having to walk outside through the doors. This was not a special request either, I do believe the item is printed on the menu or on flyers on the wall within the restaurant. So you would think no big deal right? WRONG! The waitress seemed very annoyed that birria was being ordered and proceeded to say that there might not be any left, basically making excuses for it not to be ordered. My wife kindly asked if she would mind checking and thanked her. The look on the waitress face was upsetting, she rolled her eyes and walked away to go check. So it turned out that there was birria, she plopped the bowl on the table almost causing it to spill a bit and walked away. Guess what? She forgot to take my order, another waitress came to see if anything was needed. Due to her attitude it felt like a burden even trying to ask for another soda. This was not an isolated incident either. A family came in to the restaurant and sat down. I couldn't help but notice that they were not being waited on. Service was slow at their table and one of the kids didn't get his beverage. At this point I was paying for my meal at the counter and the kid walked up to the area where I was standing and innocently asked the waitress if he can have some horchata (I believe). Well the rude waitress strikes again! I couldn't believe how she responded to the kid. He had to be around 12yrs old or so. She told him in a frustrated tone to speak up and that he needs to speak English clearly. She then proceeded to talk to me in Spanish (I am mexican and speak spanish) and belittle the kid. This was completely unacceptable. First she treats my wife and I poorly and turns around and wants me to listen to her talk trash about a child. If I didn't experience it, I wouldn't have believed it. I hate to knock a restaurant because of the actions of one individual but as a business, the owners have to be aware of how their restaurant is being portrayed by their employees. This woman should not work here, she is the reason many customers are not returning. With so much competition out there, customers can take their money elsewhere and receive similar quality food with MUCH better service. What separates and helps distinguish a restaurant is the customer service and the welcoming atmosphere. Not only are you paying for food, you are paying for a good experience. Jalisco, you should really consider addressing this issue with your employee because she is causing you to lose business. Through random conversation with people who live in the area, Jalisco Restaurant has come up and it always leads to that ONE BAD WAITRESS. I don't go around voluntarily badmouthing businesses, people have brought up the rude waitress to me! So there seems to be a negative vibe out in the open. Even to the ignorant locals, who do not realizes that the J is Spanish is an "h" sound, and consequently and often order Jalapenos and Jarrito's with a J, they don't mock them or mistreat them. We ordered 3 burritos, 2 tacos and an order of guacamole with a side of sour cream. My daughter requested that they give extra hot sauces and the woman told her I gave you enough. I grew up close to this restaurant. Have spent many high school nights there with friends. It was never the best but it had nice people working there and the food was pretty good. Tonight, my fiancée our good friend and I went out there. The place is garbage. Only available booth was covered in guacamole. We finally sit down wait like 5 minutes for anyone to come by take our order. When the waitress finally comes she's rude and doesn't say hello or anything just asks, "you know what you want?" We ordered. Didn't get our drinks until our food came, also didn't get the usual pico de gallo with our tortilla chips. We did however get an extra bottle of water we didn't order and our orders totally wrong. The last 3 times I've been here they got my order wrong and I tipped because the waitresses are always nice and it's just hat when I repeatedly ask for no beans I always get beans. Now we get this waitress that has served me many times before and she's giving us attitude. When she brings us our food she stops in front of our table to speak to some of the Spanish speaking customers near us, completely disregarding us. Later when we go to pay we wait in line but another Spanish speaking customer comes up and she lets him pay first. Finally when she didn't receive a tip from me for the first time ever she gives me a look like the bitch from hell she is. Fuck this place. Got tacos once, they messed up my steak tacos, added onion and my son is allergic to onion. Let it go didn't make mention of it. But reviewing their grocery store right next to the restaurant. Friends & family recommended and would frequent all the time. Carnitas are very delicious BUT the customer service is BAD! None us will be coming here any longer. If you want to get robbed & treated with disrespect go here. Went Sunday morning & was able to pick the choice cuts of carnitas. At the checkout, there's always a tall stern lady (who I believe is the owner) always looming over the cashier & the register watching each & every transaction that takes place. Its a area with a makeshift register counter & people bunch up their items quite closely to one another since it is so small. Used my debit & was asked if I would like a receipt, I said no thanks believing there would be no issue. Made it home about 2 hours later just to find I wasn't given my carnitas which I paid for! That was the only purpose of going to this place. They had already started bagging the other persons stuff before I can leave the counter & believe they gave them my bag. I called the store to see if a bag left behind!? My call was answered by the tall lady/owner, she stated that no such bag was there, all my items were given to me, and when I asked if there was any carnitas left she said no. I quickly demanded return of my money since I refuse to pay for items I did not receive. We discussed the total amount I spent & that I did not get a copy of the receipt. I did not look at the label put on my carnitas package so wasn't too sure what I paid for them. She said since I didnt take a copy of my receipt that she couldnt see my transaction in her log, that she would have to go home & check her video camera!? How do you check a video camera to verify a transaction amount when you don't have a clue what I look like! Was this a "scare" tactic? She (whom never gave me her name) said I will call you back in 10 minutes. Never received a call back so I had to take a ride all the way back to this grocer. Her twin son who was at the register, asked me if he could help. I told him I had spoken to who I believe was his "Mom" already & was waiting for her because she had to go "home" to review this "video", he said okay she should be back in 2-3 minutes, we are close by. So I then completed a list of prices for the items I purchased so by process of elimination I could give the lady the amount I paid for the carnitas and took a look by the carnitas section to see what was left. It was now the afternoon hours & what was left, was leftover pickings and grissle - nothing comparing to what I had selected earlier. I stood by the register counter waiting. Suddenly the lady (Sandra) that had bagged my groceries earlier came by asking if she could help. I said you are the one that bagged my groceries, did you happen to see a bag left behind...she said No but the other lady was the one to charge you! I replied yes I know...& she quickly said with such an attitude, We can't help u! I said I wasn't looking for your help, I am here waiting for the other ladies return. Right away she said you don't have to talk to me like that & I said well neither do u! I WAS STANDING THEIR MINDING MY OWN BUSINESS WAITING!!!! Then the tall lady came in, said quickly that I don't have my receipt, theres nothing she can do for me! I looked around her very busy walls & said, there is no sign posted that a receipt is required for returns or exchanges. She said oh I had one but it fell down! Then she started recanting our phone conversation and would not allow me to speak! Spoke very rudly, very loud, wouldn't allow me to say a word. She said I know you purchase a 1lb and 1/2 of carnitas. That I could get some from the tray but she wasn't gonna give me my money. I said I don't want any picked over carnitas...she went on a rant about how quality her items are. I reminded her that the quality wasn't in question, but was picked over was! I stopped wasting my time. And decided to talk to my bank. Instead I disputed the charges of the carnitas and will not be paying for something I did not receive. Good luck if u go here!
