    Steak taco Dinner

Had an amazing experience here this past weekend. After ending my long weekend at summer smash music festival just up the road, I was looking for something quick to grab before heading home on an hour drive. Jalisco's took my order and had it ready within 15 minutes. Thoroughly impressed with how efficient and kind the staff was! I may be biased but tacos always hit the spot for me. I think the image speaks for itself. Parking was easy and it was just off the main road. Definitely recommend to anyone in the area

The quality has since gone down since my previous review. Ordered nachos got home and saw this. The avocados are inedible. Black. I can't even believe someone's cut them up and thought it was ok to serve. Not to mention we did not receive part of our order. Won't be back.

Best on the South Side. Remember when they first opened 30 years ago. Good to see they are still in business and thriving!

They need to hire more people. I've been coming here for many years and never had such a bad experience. From waiting long for the food. Our waiter was rude and had a attitude. He never checked on us to ask if we needed anything. We asked him for sour cream twice and never brought it to us, and then when I went to pay, the lady was telling me what was being charged and she tried charging us for the sour cream. But good Ofcourse is phenomenal as always.

This is the best "fast food" Mexican I have had in our area. They are awesome at attending to you and helping you through the menu. There is a Carnicera attached to buy authentic food and (amazing) tamales.

Overall, the experience was solid. The consomé had good flavor, definitely one of the highlights, but felt like it was just missing that one extra layer of richness or spice to really push it over the top. Still, enjoyable. The birria meat was super tender, which we appreciated. Only downside? The cheese. There was a lot of it. Not a dealbreaker, and some folks might love that, but I personally would've liked the meat to shine a bit more instead of being smothered. Chips and queso were solid, and the tacos were satisfying. Cozy little spot near Midway, and the staff was friendly. Would I come back? Yeah, especially for a casual bite if I'm in the area again.

From the moment you walk in, you're welcomed with genuine hospitality. Doña Mari herself was taking orders and serving tables, which made the experience feel even more personal. I ordered the menudo, and it was absolutely delicious--rich, flavorful, and clearly made with care. It came with fresh, homemade tortillas that took the meal to another level. They also serve café de olla, which was the perfect complement to the food. This isn't a fancy restaurant, and that's exactly what makes it special. It's warm, authentic, and full of heart. You'll find yourself paying $40 for a drink and $25 for a plate of seafood. It can seem backwards compared to a steak house or what not. The vibes are great on weekends catching a mariachi group coming in offering to play songs for money. And even if you don't pay for play, someone might and you can enjoy a song. I still don't know or even asked if they use fresh water or salt water shrimp. Most places like this use fresh water but charge salt water prices(you just have to ask/hopefully they're honest). The shrimp empanadas were ok. I wouldn't order again. The paella is alright nothing to brag about and very soggy. The champuzon was ok. Some parts of the octopus was really rubbery(as id expect is probably frozen). Oysters just do not smell the best. Overall, not my worse place. I'd say stop by try it. Do not have the highest expectations. Be cautious of what you order in mind of freshness. Sauces/salsas were good.
