It was brought out a hot plate, but I noticed they put a thin layer of veggies to avoid the salmon getting burnt or further cooking (such attention to detail!). The marinade was so yummy. I also ordered the mango juice, which was delicious and tasted like my favorite childhood mango juice box. The rest in my party ordered the chicken tikka appetizer, vegetable samosa (came with 2 pcs. which were the size of baseballs), garlic naan (they graciously gave us more on the house), and more. They also ordered the mango lassi and really enjoyed the taste and smoothness. They also gave us these fried veggie appetizers on the house, but I can't recall what they were called. Their portions were big and plenty. Overall, my party and I enjoyed our meal and I also appreciated that they gave us our checks separately, saving us all the hassle of splitting the check and zelle/venmo-ing the money afterwards. Came in for lunch with my dad and we loved everything about it. The inside has a classy ambiance with plenty of tables and a full bar. We were the first customers, but the place filled up shortly after. I'm of European descent, but I take it as a good sign for a place like this when pretty much all the other clientele appeared to be South Asian. They started us off with a complimentary papadum basket with cilantro-mint chutney and tamarind sauces. Delightful. We ordered two appetizers: Vegetable pakora and chili pepper paneer. The vegetable pakora was interesting. I'm used to a mix of veggies fried in their own way, but these were fritters that seemed to be a mix of onion, potato, and I think zucchini. It worked, especially with the chutneys to top it off. The sizzling paneer was also great - nice and crispy crust with a perfect spicy glaze. I'd get either of these again. For the mains, we got Chicken Korma and Malai Kofta. When our waiter asked for our spice preference, we both said medium. I think medium was perfect, even though I'm used to a mild Malai Kofta. I think it was my father's upper spice limit, but he loved his Korma. Both sauces were easy to mop up with some butter naan. Even a simple cup of masala tea was memorable - perfect amount of spices and milk to mellow them out. Would drink this again. Our waiter was attentive but gave us space to enjoy the meal and each other's company without frequent interruption. According to our waiter, they have lunch buffets on the weekend only. When I arrived, they apparently misunderstood and thought he wanted to place the order at 5:30. The staff member who may have been the owner apologized and said that it would take ten minutes. It was more like 20-25 minutes. Based on the orders I heard by phone and in person, all patrons were told their orders would take approximately 30 minutes to prepare. I don't know what the average wait time typically is, but it seems long to me. When I got home, my husband said that his order of Chicken Tikka was actually Chicken Botti. Although the order was wrong, he said it was decent. My Chicken Kabob, however, was horrible. Although I am generally sensitive to spices and seasoning, I have enjoyed Kabobs at other places. My husband generally likes Kabobs, but said it was not good and threw it away. He said Kabobs are typically on skewers and not ground meat. To test the waters, so to speak, I called in an order for the chicken botti over rice and was given a 15 minute time frame. When I arrived 15 minutes later, the order had been prepared and was waiting for me. I got the chicken botti with rice and they included a little container of a fantastic minty-herby green sauce for the chicken as well as a little side salad with romaine and chopped tomato, cucumber and red onion! This was a lot of food! Definitely enough for two, or leftovers for the next day. A coworker later went down and returned with samosas and chicken biryani so they possibly offer more selections than what they show on their website? Either way, I definitely will be ordering from here again and I suggest you do too!
