After trying several of their curries, biryanis, appetizers, tiffin items I'm sad to say that their dishes lack quality and quantity. These days, I only order their Uthappam and pretty much avoid ordering anything else.

My first visit to this Sangam here in Ellicott City,MD and this doesn't disappoint at all. The food was just so good and the service was extremely good as well. Definitely a thumbs up for the Thali meals. THE FOOD: We went in towards the end of the lunch timings I believe so it was not at all crowded for a Saturday lunchtime. The Veg Thali was the first thing that caught my eye. Paneer Dosa was the other thing that we ordered along with a glass of Badam Milk. The thali was just exquisite with some great flavors and everything was cooked to perfection in my opinion. Sambar, Bittergourd Kuzhambu stood out. The Paneer dosa was a delight as well. The Badam milk seemed bland a little bit and it was just okay. Rice quantity given initially was less so had to request more and they were able to accommodate without any additional charges. Quality of food was good as well. SERVICE & AMBIENCE: The ambience was excellent. Ample light coming in during the day time and it was quiet as well despite couple of big groups around us. The restrooms were very well maintained. The service was just amazing. The staffs were literally working around us to get us what we wanted without hesitation. BOTTOMLINE: I would highly recommend this place for some great variety in South Indian food in particular TamilNadu style of cooking. The spice levels were apt and the service was excellent. Would definitely visit this place again. Deserves a 5 star for everything. Keep up the good work! MY PICKS FOR YOU: Veg Thali, Paneer Dosa

Sangam is serving up some of the best southern Indian cuisine in the area! I ordered takeout via Grubhub on a Saturday evening and my delivery arrived without any issues. The Masala Dosa was one of the best dosas I've had in awhile--fresh, flavorful with ample filling. I ordered a side of raita, which balanced the subtle spice nicely. The Idli were pillowy and fresh, serving as the perfect vehicle for dipping and soaking up the variety of toppings/sauces. Looking forward to my next order!

Came to Baltimore from WI and from memories from eating here at Sangam 3 yrs ago, we came back. Even better experience this time and we will definitely be back here. The owner and staff are excellent and talks with all the patrons. If you want South Indian food, this is the place to go. You will not be disappointed. Naha is awesome btw!

I came here for lunch with an old colleague since we both have a love for Indian food. We ordered the idli as our appetizer. I ordered the paneer tikka masala with butter naan for my entree and she ordered a dosa. We were pleased with our food but didn't like that all the food came out at the same time. It didn't give us enough the chance to eat the idli. Besides that, the venue is nice and service was good.

And in conclusion...... We didn't end up eating here. We absolutely will when they get the lighting under control. The place is so bright at night that I had to get sunglasses for us from my car. Even then we left because it was so bright. I've turned to giving 1 star reviews to this so that the management sees the review. Owner, manager, how do you have absolutely no comprehension of ambiance? People want to be comfortable when they go out to dinner, not feel like their eyes are being bombarded with 50k lumins of bright white light. Install a dimmer and use it. You will have more repeat customers. No one wants to eat in a laboratory. Aside from that, when the lighting is so bright you see every spec of dust and dirt. This photo doesn't even do it justice as to how bright it is. My camera lens might actually be damaged from it.

Pretty good Indian food we had when we stopped by for lunch. We got their chicken tikka masala, saag paneer and daal. The chicken in the tikka masala was tough so a few pieces were completely inedible. The other dishes were good. They have an extensive menu and the ambience was clean and modern.

Being a picky eater.. This is the best Indian restaurant you will find around Ellicott city. Mainly if you are from India. This is not tailored for American crowds but stays authentic to its roots. Everything is flavorful and well balanced. Will keep coming here.

The food at Sangam is delicious. I loved their aloo gobi and the butter chicken was also very well done. I tried the dosa but was not a fan of the filling because of personal preference. They do get really busy on weekends and you may need to wait for a table. They're also short staffed so you need to try hard to flag down a server.

The restaurant is in the back of the building and has a few tables. I'm not sure if it's a sit-down and order type of place, but I ordered at the counter and also picked up my food at said counter. I had stopped for gas and saw the Indian place was just opening for the day. I wanted to try something from this place, even though I already had lunch plans. So I ordered a little snack of Papdi Chaat (as people affectionately call it the Indian nachos). It was refreshing and flavorful. Pretty hearty for a small treat. I am looking forward to going back and trying more dishes.

It was recommended by a friend--otherwise, we'd have never crossed paths. A must-try for Gujarati street food! We ordered the Gujarati thali and loved it. The chapatis were incredibly soft, and the bhindi and gawar fali were absolutely delicious. I just wish there was a bit more kadhi or gravy to go with the rice--to help balance out the carb load (I know, it's a lot to ask!). We also tried the dhokla, which was excellent--light, fluffy, and flavorful. Will definitely order that again. Ended up getting khichdi and eggplant curry to go, and I'm really looking forward to trying those. Next on the list: some of their fried savory snacks! Bonus: They also serve Indian-Chinese and Punjabi food if you're in the mood for something different. A warm, comforting meal that truly feels like home-cooked food--definitely worth a visit! Note: I would've loved to see the kitchen open--it's always comforting in small places like this.

Came in for lunch with my dad and we loved everything about it. The inside has a classy ambiance with plenty of tables and a full bar. We were the first customers, but the place filled up shortly after. I'm of European descent, but I take it as a good sign for a place like this when pretty much all the other clientele appeared to be South Asian. They started us off with a complimentary papadum basket with cilantro-mint chutney and tamarind sauces. Delightful. We ordered two appetizers: Vegetable pakora and chili pepper paneer. The vegetable pakora was interesting. I'm used to a mix of veggies fried in their own way, but these were fritters that seemed to be a mix of onion, potato, and I think zucchini. It worked, especially with the chutneys to top it off. The sizzling paneer was also great - nice and crispy crust with a perfect spicy glaze. I'd get either of these again. For the mains, we got Chicken Korma and Malai Kofta. When our waiter asked for our spice preference, we both said medium. I think medium was perfect, even though I'm used to a mild Malai Kofta. I think it was my father's upper spice limit, but he loved his Korma. Both sauces were easy to mop up with some butter naan. Even a simple cup of masala tea was memorable - perfect amount of spices and milk to mellow them out. Would drink this again. Our waiter was attentive but gave us space to enjoy the meal and each other's company without frequent interruption. According to our waiter, they have lunch buffets on the weekend only. He added that Sunday is the bigger day of the two. Maybe I'll come back one of those days to sample more of the variety of offerings. Wouldn't change a thing. Great experience. Definitely recommend.
