The food is bomb, but if there's this older woman attending you I recommend not leaving her anything if you're new. She never comes to ask if you're doing ok or if the food is good, BUT when it comes down to the tip she's an ass kisser. My family has been getting our pupusas from here for years and I've only eaten here TWICE and she's rude as heck! But otherwise the food is super bomb and the prices are amazing. Really good pupusas, the sauce is excellent- has a bit of a kick, which I love! They are made fresh to order, so be sure to expect a 10-15 minute wait. Also tried their ensalada drink, which is pretty much a fruit cocktail. Very tasty ! read more

I came for the food. Looking at the place from the outside I wasn't expecting a 4 star place . Anyways , pupusas are good. I even took some home with me. Service is alright don't expect to be waited on hand and foot . The food takes awhile but I felt it was worth the wait. I would be back to pick up more pupusas for sure. Restrooms need a lot work. I have visited this place a few times and each time, really love their pupusas! The squash & cheese as well as the Revuelta (with pork, beans, & cheese) are my favorites. I crave these all the time, it's a sick obsession really, especially now that I've moved so far away - d'oh! .......Okay, now that being said, BESIDES the actual food part, this place isn't exactly my first choice when I think "dining out" for a couple of reasons... the first BIG one being no one that works here can communicate in English. The previous review about being hung up on if you try to call and order in English is completely right - it happened to me twice. If you don't speak their language, most likely they will completely ignore you if you're sitting down to eat in their restaurant. Really. I've been to many restaurants where the person didn't speak my language very well, but they still TRIED to be helpful, dangit! The ambiance sometimes is a little weird too... like, you can be sitting there in complete quiet, no one in the restaurant but you, and then all of a sudden a super loud song will blast out of the jukebox, startling you half to death if you're not paying attention. Then it will end, and you'll be in complete quiet again. If you're there in the evening, chances are the music will be on all night, and it will feel very much like a bar/club. It's.. interesting. I really love the pupusas here. LOVE! That is why this place squeaked by with 3 stars instead of 2. Of course it's "Salvadorean Style" and of course its not the best place to get your "Mex fix" it's a salvi restaurant! LOL I give the pupusas 5 stars but i don't like the salsa, its a bit sweet. I've had better and i love the salsa on my pupusas with the curtido. The service is not bad and its not friendly either. The lady is nice cause i'm there all the time but she's not a smiley person. The food was okay, what really showed us the kind of establishment this was, is the way they prioritized customers that walked in after us. They got all of their food with in 5-10 minutes of walking in. Not the mention the waitress was flirting with them the whole time. I don't mind waiting for food but my 3 yr old niece was starving and kept asking me where the food was. Finally about 30-40 minutes later we asked her how long it was going to take, she snapped at me telling me it would be out soon. I wouldn't go, and I'm never coming back. I absolutely love their pupusas revueltas. Their food is delicious and have a good selection of food and drinks. The reason I gave them 2 STARS only is because the waiting period to get your food is horrible. I am inside the restaurant as we speak with a party of 6 people. We started with 12 people, but half of them left due to the fact that they lag in their service. It took them 15 minutes to take our drink orders, 10 minutes later they arrived. Another 15 minutes later they took our food order and so far it's been 20 minutes and yet no food. I've been coming to this restaurant for the past 20 years and it's a family thing we've always done as kids. I wish they could just speed up their services and maybe their clientele would be more popping. Besides they lagging, their restaurant is kept very clean and well maintained. They have an A food grade rating. They have live stage performances on Fridays, Saturday's and Sunday's. I went here once and will never visit again. Service was horrible and food took for ever to arrive. But what broke the camels back was that they wanted to bill us differently than what was on the menu. They stated that the prices were based out of the new menu but they had not received the new menu's yet. I'm from El Salvador and have had them in El Salvador and from my aunts who make them here and this place is the closest to tasting like they were made in El Salvador. I don't venture out too much to try anything else on their menu but if you're looking for pupusas this place is awesome! Revueltas are my favorite but the cheese ones are good too. Only thing to be aware of is that they take a good minute to make them ... So if you're starving this may not be the place to go to. It doesn't matter if you're the only person in there lol they still take their time making them. Been here a few times. I have relatives that live near bye. Good tasting pupusas. I've also tried the bistec (steak) which is pretty good as well. All the food is made in a salvadorean style. I've also been here to watch live t.v soccer games starring the El Salvadorean team. Moderate prices. The waitresses are polite and courteous. The restaurant isnt anything fancy. Was in this shopping center for a mani/pedi. My friend and I were there for so long we decided to go have pupusas after. OMG! So good! This is a 100 percent salvadorean Restaurant in the heart of Reseda. I've been coming here since I was a child. Very delicious food. The place has had its ups and downs with all the personnel. A few months ago I started coming with my friends in the evening to the live music etc. We started coming every Friday Saturday and sometimes Sunday's.. we always have a blast. We pretty much felt in love with one of the waitress by the name of Faviola. Very nice and charming. Always greets us with a big smile and has our table ready. Driving around last Sunday, looking for a restaurant that makes Pupusas. I went to a few that were closed by 5:30pm. I called Jaltepeque to ask what time they closed ( I didn't want to drive to another place and have it be closed). I was so excited that they were open until midnight! My dad is very picky with food (it could be food from a five star restaurant and he'll still say it was the most disgusting thing he's ever eaten) so I was hoping that he would like them.
