Despite a 25-minute wait for a late Saturday morning, the check-in process seemed chaotic, with long lines snaking out the door as the overwhelmed hostess grappled with the bustling crowd of either, food pick-ups, checking in, or were texted that their table was ready. Notably, the absence of uniforms among the staff added a peculiar touch--our hostess sported a tracksuit. With a name like Jam, I'm sure the owners can make up funny sayings like "this is my Jam" on T-shirts so that it feels more cohesive. Once seated at a spacious table meant for six, though we were only a party of two, the absence of lattes on the menu surprised me. Opting for a mimosa -I don't know what I was expecting when I ordered the DIY mimosa- it entailed opening and pouring my own Prosecco and OJ. It left me feeling as though a tip should be in order for my newfound bartending skills. Choosing the chicken, bacon, and waffles, I found the dish filling, the home fries were ok and the boneless chicken was a bit dry. The whole place reminded me of being in a diner. We went here for Valentine's Day with our mother. The food overall was over cooked and had no flavor. For example, the chicken from the chicken & waffle dish was fried in old grease, burnt and hard to cut and the waffle was doughie. We had to send two orders back because the eggs were not prepared correctly. The service was horrible, waitress Nicolette wasn't attentive. When we asked for new utensils and syrup we had to ask multiple times and ask other waitresses for help. We felt the lack of appropriate service was race related. We chose this restaurant because its location was a perfect midpoint to meet with friends. The restaurant has a cozy comfortable old country style ambience. Went just before 9am on a sunday morning and there was no wait. I enjoyed my spanakopita omelet which was so huge. it come a with home fries which is really just potatoes and choice of toast. My daughter had chocolate chip pancakes and bacon. We went to Jam on a Sunday. A table for 2 was a 25 min wait but we were seated within 10 min so that was great. We both ordered an omelet. It was nice and fluffy but firm at the same time. The Cajun sausage inside the southwestern omelet had a nice kick to it. Bacon was good. Not over cooked. A little disappointing that they didn't have any nice speciality coffee drinks like cappachino or latte's. Price was not bad. For two people it was $50 not including tip. read more

It's awesome because they have vegan gluten free options for me and regular options for people who can and chose to eat normally like her. I got the tofu scramble and loved it. I've been here twice on a Saturday, and there's always been at least a 30 min wait! (Always worth the wait though) The inside isn't the biggest, but they do have booths and smaller seating areas, along with the bar. They have very reasonable pricing and their servings are perfect. I found them to still be shareable without having a huge portion. We ordered the huevos rancheros and the cinnamon French toast, after seeing 100 photos of people who have raved about it!!! If you like sweets, this is DELICIOUS!!! It's not a huge size, and it was sweet and yummy. Everything I was hoping for!! Personally, I probably wouldn't mix it with the huevos again, but both food items were SO good, no complaints at all! I've been to Jam a few times over the years even before they expanded their business. With the expansion, it makes it easier for the establishment to serve more customers at one time. There is table and high table seating. We went there for brunch on a Sunday and we were seated pretty quickly. I got the pearl sugar waffle with fresh berries which tasted really great. The waffle itself has a sugary crisp taste that no syrup isn't really needed. I did have to minus a couple stars since they use pancake syrup instead of maple when serving. It's personal preference since I think pancake syrup has that artificial kind of taste. Overall service was great as our server made sure we had everything. My experience having breakfast at Jam a few Sundays ago was awesome. I had heard this place was good from a friend but being that I live far away, never tried it until now and I am definitely glad that I did. I arrived first out of the group of three and they were unable to seat me until the rest of my party arrived, which I understood. The bathroom situation is rough. There are two unisex restrooms and they are about a foot away from the kitchen area where servers are hustling through with plates of food. As soon as you open the door to the bathroom you need to be careful because you feel you are constantly in the way of the chaos. We sat at a table that was high up, booth on one side, chairs on the other. I sat in one of the chairs and the height of the chairs is not appropriate for the height of the table. As you sit in the chair you feel like you are leaning to high on top of the table, it was slightly awkward resting your arms on the table and even eating. We were not the only ones who felt this way as the table next to us joined into our conversation agreeing that they felt so awkward sitting at their table also. Other than those things, everything about the meal and service was great. I ordered a build your own omelette and did egg whites, spinach, onions and roasted mushrooms. The omelette came with home fries and toast. I didn't try the home fries or toast but my friends who ordered a similar meal definitely enjoyed theirs. The omelette was delicious, huge and hearty. The server was good, not the best with keeping up with our water refills but she left the pitcher on the counter next to us so we helped ourself. I thought the meal was pretty affordable $20 something bucks each. Maybe for one meal each for breakfast that might sound steep but we all had coffee as well and left full. Highly recommend this place for a good meal, maybe get some different chairs for those high top tables but it wasn't detrimental to our meal. read more

They have a good variety of items on the menu- both sweet and savory breakfast items as well as sandwiches. We've had the Up north benny several times, the down south benny, different types of pancakes, the corned beef hash & eggs, the classic breakfast and huevos rancheros. Everything is always delicious and I specifically like the way they prepare their potatoes (deep fried but not greasy at all). We put our names down in groups of 6 and waited patiently. When we discovered we had an odd number, we asked if we could change the next (and last group) to a table for 4 and 3. Rather than trying to accommodate us, she chastised us and told us we'd have to go to the bottom of the list and wait 70 mins. They decided to go to the sister restaurant down the block. Meanwhile, there were plenty of tables open. It was as if she wanted to penalize us because we were not understanding her rules and we were upsetting her "system". And maybe we were but that's still no excuse to be rude. We all got there and waited outside in the rain. We waited for the tables of 6 to become available and didn't care that we weren't seated together. But when we were "disrupting" her, she became very defensive and tried to explain to me why our last group had to be put at the bottom of the list. At the end of the day, she wanted to be right more than she wanted me to be right. So the "customer is always right" doesn't fly here at Jam. I'm not one to blow up a small business' Yelp rating due to one bad experience, which is why I gave them 3 stars instead of 2.
