    Brown Stew Chicken

When I want to get my Ox Tail fix on, I always make my way to this restaurant. The taste is amazing and the lunch deals are great . I have pretty much tasted all the dishes that have to offer and have yet to be disappointed. They also have A variety of Jamaican items for purchase like Easter bread/bun.

I recently visited Jamaican breeze just on a whim because I live up the block & wanted to check it out, i pas it all the time on my walks. The spot was small, clean from what I can remember & the service is like right there in your face, I happened to be speaking w/ the owner about different food options & he made some suggestions & let me have a sample, I was hooked on the brown stew. The food was really good, the portion size was very big even for a small & it was served quickly since the food is already pre-made. I ordered the brown stew with rice & cabbage along with a carrot cake. Boy I feel you that shit was everything! Meat was tender like fall off the bone tender & flavorful, plus the carrot was a good dessert treat which topped it all off. Overall food was very good I'll be back soon. DEFINITELY RECOMMEND!

I dont know how this restaurant doesn't have 5 stars. Ive read previous reviews about how the service wasn't good, but i highly disagree and had amazing service. The staff was so friendly and the food was absolutely amazing. I ordered oxtail, and brown stew chicken and it is so tender that you barely have to chew it. Rice and peas were cooked perfectly, and the steamed vegetables were very good. Honestly one of the best oxtail dishes ive ever had. If you are hesitant on coming here, dont be. This is definitely a restaurant that is worth every penny. Just make sure to bring cash since it is cash only. Just be aware that it is takeout only, and you could find street parking around the corner.

L was pretty surprised that he liked the food so much. We've had Dominican food plenty of times, it's not something we eat often but since this place had great reviews, I wanted to try it; the pernil was really good here. It wasn't overly seasoned. I did throw away the excess oil from the pork, other than that, it was tender, juicy and delicious. The lil salad was a great side to the fatty meat. Will definitely return to try other items.

And I'm saying that as a Dominican with a Dominican grandfather who cooks just like this. I have NEVER been able to find a place that makes rice the way my grandpa does. Like that real, home-cooked Dominican rice that actually tastes like something. And of course I don't always want to bother him when I'm in the mood for good Dominican food... so I'm genuinely so happy I found this place. Ordering was super easy and pickup was quick. Prices are also really good for the amount of food you get. And everything I've tried has been delicious. The beans though... oh my God. I'm still thinking about the beans. For the amount of food you get for the price, it's amazing! I can't wait to keep ordering from here, and I'm honestly already thinking about placing larger orders for events in the future. If there's one local business in Queens you should support, it's this one. Hands down one of the best Dominican spots!

TLDR- Reviews seemed good so took a chance. Disappointing first time experience with this…read morerestaurant. I cannot speak to the atmosphere as this is based on a delivery order, but I did speak to someone on the phone who was kind and seemingly attentive, but ultimately I don't think was paying attention and was just agreeing to anything to ultimately get me to place the order? Order arrived incorrectly prepared, missing entree inclusions and wrong beverages. This order was placed at 3PM ish in the afternoon, so I am not sure why items were unavailable. Felt dishonest and was a poor reflection on the restaurant's integrity. Called to ask for recommendations and asked for jerk sauce on jerk chicken. Ordered on Aug.5th and spent $65 dollars on oxtail, escovitch fish and jerk chicken meals plus 2 mild beef patties, coco bread and 3 beverages. I also ordered mac pie, but was refunded since they didn't have it. ALLLLL entrees were missing steamed cabbage and only 1 entree had a sole piece of plantain. Oxtail needed to be cooked a bit longer as pieces were inconsistently tenderized, 'escovitch' fish was just soggy fried fish with no peppers or onions to be found and although decently spiced jerk chicken was dry...like the rice in all the entrees because there was also no gravy present. The only thing that came correctly were the patties and coco bread I didn't really sign up to eat pounds of dry rice and peas. Don't send food out like this.

There were two young ladies standing behind the bar but no one greeted us. We stood by the door for maybe 5 mins before we were acknowledged and asked if we wanted to sit a table or the bar. It took another 10 mins or so before WE had to ask for a menu. After that, the young lady that served us was good and personable. The ambiance in here is pretty chill. They had a DJ that played a good mix of music. They also have a bunch of games like jenga, giant uno, connect four etc. They have happy hour M-F 4-7pm. $5 shots, $8 rum punch and margaritas (+ $1 per flavor), and $10 L.I.T, $10 wings & fries and $12 shrimp & fries (+ $2 per flavor). Drinks: We did the margaritas which are $8 +$1 for flavors. We had the passion fruit, mango, and raspberry flavors. Passion fruit was my fave, mango was a tad bit sweet but when I asked the server to add a shot to fix it, she did. Food: we had the lemon pepper and buffalo wings and fries. The wings were good but the lemon pepper flavor was light and just sprinkled on. The crab legs were really good! It's cooked in a curry sauce, I just wished they actually served it in the sauce. I had to ask for melted butter. We weren't really hungry but from the few things I had, it seems their food is good. I would go back to try some more menu items.
