I really enjoy the wings from here. I tried 10 buffalo wings with fries. My friend had the lemon pepper and really enjoyed them. I like that the wings weren't oversized and full of hormones. I read some of the other comments about the size of the wings being too small. Most people should know that bigger doesn't mean better when its come to chicken because the bigger they are, the more artificial stuff they have inside, which is no good. Overall, great place for wings that also offers fried fish on the weekend but I can't comment on that. I've been a customer at this restaurant for 2 yrs. As an entrepreneur in the "blk and brown" community I seek to support businesses that are blk owned. There are 2 or 3 women in this restaurant that I've met that are beautiful people and I enjoy speaking with them everytime I come in. They enjoy myself and my children the same as well. Yusuf (The tall man always mainly there, I thought he WAS jamaal) and the other men are really cool. However there is a thin woman there who really irks my soul because something about her is just rude and bitter inside and one other one that i havent seen only order over the phone. I ordered 50 worth of food from there in Jan and then turned around and spent another 40 or 50 a day or so later, the 2nd order had wings that were lemon pepper mild and when my family and I went to eat our dinner the wings were beyond salty, which I had never had that issue before. I called up to the establishment and let both the cook Antonio and the tall guy know that the wings were unedible and super salty. The tall one apologized and offered to replace the wings, it was close to closing that I was going to have to wait until the next day. I had no problem with that. We ate our fish and fries and my neighbor rinsed the wings and gave it to his dog. I had several things to do and I didn't call back until 3 days later. When I called I asked to speak to the guy and this one female acted as though she didn't know who I was speaking of, and said to tell her my issue because she was a manager. I explained, as I have above, and she tells me why didn't I hold onto to the nasty wings and bring them in? I informed her that I called it back in bc 1. I didn't have the time to bring them back in because they were closing and 2. Who keeps food for days just to prove a point? She then says to me well if you had brought them in we could have seen how much salt was on them and gave you a refund or replacement .... never knew you could SEE salt that's blended into the food already So at this point as calm and humble as I'm being, she's being totally rude for no reason at all, and tells me that I would have to speak to the guy later in the day that offered the replacement in the first place, which is who I called and asked for from jump street. She then hangs up in my face. I called several times later in the evening and the rude female just kept hanging up. Today I call in since I have now let a week go by in order to let the crap die down and try again or catch him to avoid her rude ass, and before I could get out my reason for calling she hangs up again. If you have a problem with customer service hire a better equipped representation than yourself to properly handle loyal customers. I'll be reporting to BBB also and anybody else that values customers the way an establishment is supposed to. These females come to work angry being rude! I still have the recording of the other female airing out to customers on the morning shift that she couldn't make pancakes or eggs because the staff never restocks anything for the morning shift so when customers order they have to turn them away and lose money bc the cooks etc are lazy at their jobs. How is that a conversation or grievance that you air out to customers in the store and over the phone when it should be private between the staff and management ? Ghetto that's how! I'm the wrong patron to be disrespectful to because I literally bother nobody and everytime I'm in that place i have great connections with everyone. If she is the owner and handled my family that way for no reason way, she's a witch and that's the reason the establishment isn't where it could be. I've always been a fan of Jamal's Wings ever since they were in a little trailer across from what used to be the GA Dome. I love that they are now in a nice fancy building in a (little) safer location for a single, young, black girl to go. Then and now it's amazing and I always go when I get the chance. I knew my best friend was gonna be in town and that it'd be the perfect time to go since we both love it. Having moved into the city I'm closer than ever and that's a little dangerous lol The prices aren't bad either. You can get just wings or a wing (5 or 10 piece) combo w/ fries for $0.50 more. There's also a good amount of flavors to choose from. Side note: if you want ranch it can be wet or dry seasoning. I've had both and I personally like the wet better but both are yum yum yummy! I've never had anything else there other than the wings and fries but I don't doubt they're also amazing. Everything is cooked to order which is another thing I love. Jamal's wings are by far some of the best wings I've had in Atlanta. If you have never had lemon pepper, or GOOD lemon pepper wings, this is the place to be! My rating is really based on how tasty the wings are, not the timing or service. This spot is right across from the Georgia Dome in a small immobile truck. There's usually the same guy there and he is a hell of a cook. There's no seating and sometimes the parking lot is full. Don't expect a timely meal and bring cash! A 10 piece combo is a little over 9$ and you'll be very satisfied. It takes forever to get the order, and they might not smile back but the wings are on a whole other level. You can also score a 5$ pizza from the papa johns by it if you catch a runner leaving their place. read more

So this "shack" is located a couple minutes from my house. "Shack's" tend to scare me but for some reason they always have the best food. So today I ventured out to the "shack" for some lemon peppered wings. I called in my order: 10 wings with fries= 7.00. I got there walked up to the enormously little "shack" and said I called in an order for the lemon peppered wings. She then tells me we can't start your order until you get here....so it'll be 6 more minutes! (So why the heck did I call my order in then?) 6 Minutes later when i finally got my food she asked me if I was a student. I said yes! So we get a discount...Yah! That dropped my total to 6.14! I decided to ask is their any point in me calling in my order since it clearly won't be ready once I get here? Her response is you can call it in...but we can't start the order till you get here (does that make any sense?) She said the owner would get stuck with called in orders and no one would ever come get them. So now they don't cook them until you get there. Ugh I hate sitting in sketchy parking lots...that consist of a Papa Johns and Check Cashing store. Oh well i'll be goin back tomorrow for the 5 wings combo for 5.15. The wings were tasty...not the best...not better than international cafe's lemon pepper wings. The fries are nothing to brag about. But i'll give them another chance tomorrow! I've been hearing great things about this place for years and finally ventured over to MLK to try them out. Important to know going in....Jamal's is a shack in the Papa John's parking lot near the Dome on MLK with no seating. You either eat them in your car or take them to go. Also, it's cash only. The wings were reasonably priced at $4.25 for 5, $7.50 for 10, $13.50 for 20, and so on. I heard the lemon pepper were amazing but I went with the hot which were fantastic. Perfect size, fried to a slight crisp, with a sensational flavor. Not overly spicy but the kick was enough to make them just right. These were the 2nd best wings I've had in Atlanta. Clay's in Sandy Springs is still my favorite. I had to eat in the car (100 degrees outside) hoping I wouldn't get wing sauce all over me since they don't have tables but it was worth it. So at 9:45pm at night in the middle of Monday night football I decided to hop my azz up and get some wings from Jamals. I had heard alot about this spot from fellow yelpers, so I needed to test them out myself, and see if all the hype was warranted. They only take cash, so I had to go to the gas station to pick up some cash, and wheel on over to Jamals. Its literally a hut, similar to what you might see at a fair or carnival (like where they might sell corn dogs out of or something). I think i hit my head on the awning, so if you are over 6' tall, be careful. The wings smelled good....there was one woman inside the hut frying up my order. I got the lemon pepper and the hot. The hot were much better than the lemon pepper, and were drenched in sauce. Pretty quick little process. The winigs are extremely cheap, and not small as hell as you might anticipate for some cheap wings. They were a pretty decent size. While they werent the best wings that I have had, they were damn good. So, definitely would go check em out when i want a quick cheap snack. I probably eat wings once a year, but I read about this little shack in Atlanta Magazine and it was too close to pass up. They were really good. Crisp skins and the sauce (I got them "hot") hurts so good and there is plenty of it. You gotta eat a few in the parking lot in your car (like I saw many people doing) because wings steam when they travel in the styrofoam container. But, they put a good amount of sauce on them and there was none of that old grease flavor that you normally find in these little wing shacks around Georgia. Man, let me just say that you can't judge a book by it's cover. That's just what I did when I saw Jamal's. I mean, at least, I thought, it would be an old little store attached to some strip mall. It was a little trailer, about the size of my car. I was really craving wings though, and it was 12am, so there really werent any other wing places around. I got there, and of course, they don't accept credit cards. SO upon ordering my food, I had to go to the bank and get cash. Hey, I'm not complaining, just saying this is what happened. There is this special they have, when you can buys 10 wings w/ fries and celery all for about 6 bucks. It was a really good deal! I had ordered that and an extra 5 wings for a cheap 3 dollars. Or was it 5? Anyhow, I ordered the Hot 10-piece wing special and the extra 5 and it all was under 20 dollars. Thats good stuff yall. Though it took awhile to recieve my wings, I constantly reminded myself that there is only one guy who ran that joint, and he did a pretty good job running it. There were about four other orders, so I din't complain. For what you wanted to hear: The wings were amazing! They were a wonderful size and a really great taate. It was 10PM on a Friday night, hubby and I really wanted wings and our usual go-to American Deli was closed. We found this place via Yelp and thought we'd give it a try! Let me tell you, it hit the spot. You'll find it in the corner near the Georgia Dome next to a Papa John's. We went ahead and called for pick up but seems like they decided to just make it once we arrived 20 minutes later.. I understand. I'm sure a lot of people order and don't actually show up but we were so hungry that waiting around kind of sucked. For 20 pieces and a side of fries it ended up being around $17-$18 and we thoroughly enjoyed it. There's a hole in the wall feel to it but I love finding new yums especially smaller establishments that get the job done! The hubs and I agreed that when the convenient American Deli isn't available for wings that this will be our second go to place. They have different sauces such as bbq and honey mustard but we ended up just sticking with ranch - they come in those plastic packages. The fries were great too but wish the serving was bigger. Eh, I honestly prefer the wings at Wings n Grill near my house in Norcross, and it's not even listed on Yelp. These wings smelled promising but they turned out quite soggy. I guess they became soggy from the drive home, but we've never eaten the wings at our regular place, we always drive it home and it's fine! And I know it's lemon-pepper but it was so so so salty! After reading the reviews about this place last week, I decided to give them a try. My craving for wings was out of control so I was super-excited to try was had been dubbed by man as "the best wings I've ever had". Upon walking up to the shack, I got even more excited because I know the hole-in-the-wall places usually have the best food. I was greeted by a very nice southern woman who took my order and told me it would be about 12 minutes before my wings and fries were ready...she had to "drop" them (translation...fry both the wings and fries...my mouth watered). I patiently sat in my car thinking of how I would enjoy the wings and fries with a glass of Corona once I returned home. Finally, my order was ready (10 lemon pepper, 10 hot wings and fries)... I was on my way back to Midtown! I did the happy dance as I pulled the food out of the bag, grabbed my beer and commenced to eating. Let me just say I couldn't have been more disappointed. I started with 4 wings (2 lemon pepper and 2 hot)...as I ate them, I thought "no, this can't be happening". The wings were slightly soggy and void of any real meat and, well, just plain bad. I wanted to be wrong so I went and picked different wings out of the container to try them...same thing. Needless to say I ate the fries (which were really good by the way) and threw the entire container of wings in the trash. Maybe they were having a bad day, maybe something was wrong with the wings AND the fryer...but I will never know because I will NEVER go back nor recommend this place. This is a good wing. Quality meat, flavorful sauce, crispy yet not overcooked inside, and medium in size. I was a bit concerned coming here because people said the wings are 'huge'...and buffalo wings are not supposed to be huge and chewy, they are supposed to be smallish and crisp. The only downfall to Jamal's is the hot isn't 'kick your ass' hot, ...and the wings are swimming in sauce. I prefer a wing that is hot yet crispy and dry textured, these wings are drowning with no life vests around. Overall, a top 3 bird wing but still prefer Ruchda and JR Crickets. Hands down. The best wings I have had in Atlanta. And Atlanta is not short on wings joints at all. The Buffalo sauce has a buttery taste to it like a "real" buffalo wings instead of just straight hot sauce or any bottled wing sauce. And the fries were also on point. Crunchy and we'll seasoned. They have a marinated in Salt water taste which is just perfect and home style. I will definitely be back. It's a shack but some of the best food comes out of these little holes in the wall. So when you hear of a place like Jamal's, just a shack next to the Georgia Dome, there is already a mystical aura about it. Let me tell you, this place is all you could want or hope for. Two women in a little shack cooking up dozens of wings at a time, with a line of people waiting anxiously for the best wings in town. We tried 3 flavors and they all were terrific. These are the best wings in the city, which isn't saying much, but they are so much better than any other place by such a large margin. All they do is wings, and they're pretty darn good at that, not to mention their prices are great! The thing that was great though was that one time that I ordered 100 wings my friends went to pick up the wings but only got half of them. As far as quality in service it's pretty good, the only fault they have is that the time given to you for your food to be ready is always 5-10 minutes off, so you will be stuck waiting for your food sometimes. I just knew this place wouldn't be open when I went because sometimes food trailers operate on their own time, literally! But they were and have been ever since! The wings are great and the women working the trailer are very nice. Wednesday is $0.40 wing night and they do get pretty busy so expect to wait about 20 minutes or so. Remember to bring cash!
