I had a work Thanksgiving potluck so decided to order lumpia for the masses! I called the order in 2-3 days prior to the event and ended up deciding on 50 pork and 50 beef lumpia! I picked it up the day of the event and they came out still hot and super crispy! A little surprised how small the to-go boxes were, so the pricing made sense! The lumpia are small, maybe 2 bites! I should've ordered double what I did! It was about $40-$45 for 100! The beef was a bit more flavorful than the pork ones! It came with sauce as well! I would definitely come back and order more next time I'm craving lumpia! Service was spot on! Orders were packaged and ready to go when I got there, at the designated time! They also have lots of pastries at the bakery, though I couldn't review it cause I didn't pick up anything else! I've only had two items here, both sweets. Both very memorable and repeatable. I've repeated them with my mom, and on my own. The halo halo was so good, my mom and I came back again within the week. Something's different. Idk. It's better than home halo halo! Not that my family has made any of it from scratch. Just jars and cans of tropicals from the store. Jambeto's is less of the childhood sweet. More of the adult sweet. Yet, it still has the South Asian influence on the Philippines kind of sweet. The crushed crunchy toasted rice is different too. Is it the ratio? How toasted? What is going on here? It's my favorite place for halo halo.... Then one day, I missed my mom and aunt so much for so long, that I wandered over. I didn't have a pre-plan. Kismet. A literal sign of the in-house ube ice cream. My photos are unworthy. This was deeply delicious. Not the childhood reference either. Beyond it. I have never eaten ice cream so slowly, other than my first straciatella gelato. Each lick and bite, I ask, what is this? Hmmm. So good. Being an expat from California it is not easy to find good Filipino food. Based on Yelp reviews decided to try Jambeto's. I ordered a party tray of palabok, ensyemada, & a combination of beef and chicken empanada in addition to a questionable Sapin Sapin. Food was good but felt the empanada was a bit doughy and the beef was dry. Palabok was good as well as the ensyemada. But for me the Sapin Sapin was disappointing. Just look at the attached picture and judge for yourself. I'm so glad to find this little gem serving some authentic Filipino dishes alongside baked treats. There are a few tables inside for those wanting to dine in but I feel like most people order to go. The case in the front displays all the sweet treats including cake balls, silvanas, flan cake, leche flan, and more. Halo halo is what I need to try next but the buttercream silvana was out of this world! I am a big fan of French macarons but the silvana is in a way quite similar to it, but has its own flair. The crisp and flavorful topping is delicious every bite. The palabok here is generous portioned and amazing as well with large shrimps and the perfect amount of chicharrones layered between the pork crumbles and smooth rice noodles. The squeeze of lemon is not to be forgotten! They also serve wings in a few flavors but I opted for adobo. It is slightly lighter in flavor here and the wings are breaded but nonetheless satisfactory. 4 stars for the lumpias and halo halo! Lumpias are the Filipino version of egg rolls. Jambeto's lumpias came out piping hot and fresh. Got both pork and beef lumpias and couldn't tell the difference. Loved how crunchy it was. It also came with a tangy sauce which was a nice balance to the fried lumpias. This was also our first time trying halo halo and all I can say is wow! It was delicious!! My daughter and I came here and I ordered the chicken and shrimp and pancit and the beef lumpia's. Service was fast and the space was accommodating for take out or dine in. The lumpia's were ok, I did not care for the sauce that came with it and I could hardly taste the beef flavor. But the pancit was really good. Jambetos is a really cool spot. It's half cafe, half Filipino bakery, and it holds its own in both lanes. I have tried a few different menu items, including the empanadas, macaroons, mamons, and mango juice. I've never left the place disappointed. My favorite is the empanadas. You can try both the chicken and beef versions. They are $1.25 each or 6 for $6.75. I might be in love with them. The crust is sweet and firm. The perfect texture, solid enough to contain all the meat (of which there is plenty) without being hard or dry. The meat is so flavorful and goes perfectly with the taste of the crust. I could eat these every day and not get bored with them. I'm not a big macaroon guy, so I can't really say much about the ones they offer. I know some people are very picky when it comes to macaroons. I do know that it was sweet and light. You get a free one when you check in! The food is good, and the prices are affordable. The staff is nice and welcoming. It's also a good place to introduce yourself to Filipino cuisine. read more

Amazing food here! One of the only places I eat some in the parking lot before going home to my family. This is basically a to-go location. My dad and I came here looking for something to satisfy our sudden sweet tooth. We decided on getting entire Mocha Cake (a 'specialty cake' as they deemed it) for a steep price of $20. It was one of the WORST decision we ever made! My initial thought was that the presentation of the cake itself was lacking in professionalism and expertise - my six year old cousin can frost a cake better than what they were presenting. But i stayed positive and thought, "Maybe this is one of those things that look unappetizing but tastes great!" For once I wished I judged a book by its cover. The cake itself was dense and had only a hint of mocha in it, which is disappointing because we bought expecting a rich flavor. The rest of the cake was this thick oily unsavory cream that LITERALLY took up 3/4 of the cake in height. It was like eating a stick of butter. And we suspect it may have been a few days old as well. We ended up tossing the rest of it in the trash. You'll be better off buying cake mix and baking one yourself. I came here after eating at the place next door. Very tiny shop with only two tables and a big display case. All I recognized really was a cake pop. I got lemon flavored and it was really good. I also got a butter cream Silvanas which I've never had before so all I can compare it to is a macaroon. It's bugger but just as fluffy. I think the butter cream was too much for me. Next time I'll try lemon or vanilla, but overall I would have another. My husband tried the flan, but he said it doesn't compare to normal flan. I'm not a big fan of the chicken empanadas though. I tried it two times, and I find the chicken dry both times and had no flavors. I had also tried the veggie rolls (fried) and it was big in size and seems fresh, but it's not something I really like. I wouldn't order it again. I love this place! (As the five stars would imply). Okay, honestly when my dad first took me here I was a little hesitant because Filipino dining places aren't typically known for being cute or special (I'm sorry I had to say it). We're simple people who don't need much more besides good food. However, when you walk in to this little joint, you'll see that the owners put some extra love and care in the way they designed it. I haven't actually had any of their food food; I have a bit of a sweet tooth and so I'll chose a cupcake for lunch anytime I'm given the option. So, I've had their leche flan, leche flan cake, brazos cupcake, and their empanadas. If you love empanadas (specifically Filipino ones), then this is the place for you. I ended up bring 2 dozen back home to Corpus and my family was obsessed with them! You must get them. Another stand out was the brazos cupcake. As much as I love brazos de mercedes, I'll never have the patience to separate out all those eggs and basically make two different recipes. Also, you can only really make an entire roll cake each time you make it and while I can probably eat an entire thing in one sitting, I wouldn't be too pleased with myself. Jambeto's discovered the best work around for people like me: a brazos de mercedes cupcake. You've got the egg white merengue surrounding the egg yolk custard all in a cupcake tin. It's great, and probably the best place to get my brazos fix from now on. The leche flan was good, but I'm also obsessed with leche flan so maybe I'm just an easy sell. Bottomline: this is the perfect little bakery for all your Filipino sweet staples you've been craving ever since you moved out of your parents' house. read more

And we ordered chicken pancit & chicken & shrimp pancit. I loved that the cabbage was still crunchy and not over cooked. Our only complaint was that our chicken was dry. Not sure if when it was packaged hot it continued to cook in the takeout container and by the time we got home it was dry. Visited Jambeto's for the first time. They've existed a few years. Filipino empanadas are a favorite. Their's are good. Not the best but good. I hadn't tried them and risked taking them to a casual dinner party. They were well liked. Love ensymada. Their's is like a dinner roll with butter and cheese. Lighter than ensymadas I've had. This is unfavorable. I won't be buying anymore ensymada. It's not bad, it's not to my liking. I also got casava cake. Very good. Except they take a blow torch and char the topping. As you investigate there is something I guess dairylike and cheese underneath. The casava cake is very good and the sweet topping. I don't like the charring. I scrape it off.
