Try these salty cookies made of anise and spices.

One day, I went to visit my doctor next door. I discovered this hole-in-the-wall bakery tucked next to Bombay to Beijing restaurant. I didn't have any expectation as I walked in. Today, this is my must-have when I come to Sugar Land. The pastries were made fresh in the restaurant kitchen. They also make sandwiches, full sheet cakes and catering. The staff is so friendly. Not many innkeepers like people taking photos. My goal was to try every pastry and show off by writing an intro with its photo. I ran out of space on Yelp. I've expanded it to Instagram. The fresh ingredients were the number one success of Red Berries Bakeshop. Everything is to my maximum satisfaction. I tried the cake yesterday for the first time. It was so incredible and melted in my mouth. Mmm... It's better than chiffon. If you have a lighter taste bud, this is place for you. If you want to sample each pastry, buy 2 at a time. The cost of $8.39/lb is about $0.65/ea. They are distinctively different. So, drink some tea between pastries.

14 big cookies for $10.16 after tax. $8.39/lb

An Indian friend of mine referred me to Red Berries because I was looking for sweets for someone's birthday. $8.39 per pound for cookies, so I just got an assortment. 14 big cookies for $10.17 after tax. I snuck one, which I believe was a Nankatai cookie (eggless), and it was good! It was sweet, soft, and had a good shortbread flavor. I can't try anymore otherwise there won't be any birthday gift left, haha. Owner was quiet but nice.

    Thats 1 amazing cake

It was amazing galaxy cake and staff customized the cake as per my son's wish. Cake tasted perfectly moist, perfect sweetness (not overpowering sweet like other places-not loaded with sugar) so everyone were happy eating more portions. Thank you for making it special for his 10th! We have always ordered from Red berries, may it be strawberry cake, mix frut cake, Black Forest cake, pineapple cake - all are amazing. They have some other baked items that my kids are fond of.

Chicken tikka puffs. Sooooo oily. But good!

This was a pretty quaint place, tucked in off a lot by 59. There are a lot of cookies and puffs on sale. The puffs are consist of chicken tikka puffs, goat kameer puffs, and various other Indian treats. All of these puffs were about $2.89+ tax. They also have trays of cookies that were sold by the pound. However, the owner allowed me to mix and match my cookies so I was able to sample 5 different cookies. All the cookies were pretty average and not super distinctive. However, the puffs were really good!!! The chicken tikka puff, especially. The coconut cookies, which i thought would taste like macaroons, turned out to be really soft. The chicken was contained in this flaky croissant creation that tasted like magic. But! It was very, very oily. So I just threw my cheat day out of the window. We purchased 5 cookies and one big puff that managed to fill two of us up for lunch. All this totaled about $5.30! Pretty cheap compared to other hotshot bakeries. Try it out! Get some cheap, ethnic goodness in your mouth! No ragrets.

Moist, fluffy layers inside the cake.

There is no billboard or web article acclaim - but when you step inside you are transported to warmth and love on 100. This place is no exception. Such a cozy feel, the baristas are so kind and accommodating, actually smiling - can you imagine that?! They genuinely take interest in you. Here is the set up. There are so many chairs and tables, it feels like you're in a massive well decorated living room. Ample space to spread out and work or study or read scripture. Speaking of reading scripture - if God made coffee on Day 6 it was because the two new humans made him exhausted. That's why he needed rest on Day 7 teeheehee. I had a matcha latte. It was wayyyy to sweet for me. Considering I do not have a single sweet tooth in my mouth and usually drink my matcha plain. They were kinda and gave me a coffee on the house with free refills. There are alot of pastries, I heard there were tacos, I will try those next time. Will I be back?... of course. This place was popping by 9 and I see why. They are doing something RIGHT!

I don't have to drive to Pinoy Corner in the Medical Center area to get delicious baked goods. This is super convenient to shop my favorite Filipino pastries and grocery at the same time. I spent average $25 each time shopping here. It has become a must go place for me. I particularly like the chicken Siopao and Ensaymada. I'm not a fan of ube. Because I could easily be overwhelmed with ube everything. Shopping here I have to start from the grocery store entrance to get the plate, tissue and tong first. On the other side is the baskets. The employees were friendly and everything is self serve. I would love to bring my friends here to show them around the store. I found Dubai Chocolate Croissant being the most exotic item because it has knafeh filling with chocolate coating. I couldn't eat it in my car but I have to eat it by the kitchen sink.
