(R3) rice with fried chicken bites
    Kaylee T.

Small hole in a wall restaurant cooking up yummy taiwanese dishes! I got the rice with fried chicken bites and the portion size did not disappoint. The taiwanese popcorn chicken was juicy and crunchy and the sides complimented it well. Will have to come back to try more.

Love coming here to fill my belly this restaurant is a mom and pop shop family own business. Always amazing food. Very friendly staff :) I got the dumpling, fried cuttlefish balls, milk tea with tapioca, and the Crispy chicken bites us a must.

Great customer service and very friendly employees. The popcorn chicken dish was nice and crunchy. Tofu and veggies come with the dish for a more balanced dish. The soft texture of the tofu and crunchy texture of the broccoli are a good complement to the chicken. The only complaint is that the chicken and gravy on the tofu are too salty. Else this is a good dish.

This place has awesome Taiwanese dessert like shaved ice, sweet tofu soup and assorted teas. They also let you pick various toppings like jelly (aiyu, grass, almond etc.), red beans or fruit. I got a sweet tofu soup, a shaved ice and a ginger tea (hot) which was excellent. Also a lemon iced tea. Service was also very prompt - although I wished they brought the food out to you as opposed to you having to go up to the counter to get it (I think one dish was brought to me however). The interior is small but spacious enough to be comfortable - you can also watch whatever it is they are playing on the TV (at the time that movie about young Gru and the Minions). Recommended!

Coco's is a local favorite and serves some of the most authentic and affordable Taiwanese food in the Houston area! I've been coming here for as long as I can remember, so I wanted to give them a shoutout. They have an extensive menu which includes rice and noodle dishes, noodle soups, dumplings, tofu, milk tea/fruit smoothies, and shaved ice. Most of the dishes range between $7-$11 so it's a really good deal for the large portions that you get. Here's what I ordered: - Taiwanese Popcorn Chicken with rice plate (鹽酥雞飯) - Beef Noodle Soup (牛肉麵) - Shredded Pork and Pickled Cabbage Noodle Soup (雪菜肉絲麵) - Dried Tofu (豆腐乾) - Milk Tea with Tapioca Lowkey, family-run, great vibes, and always friendly service!

3 of us finished these in 15 minutes. I'm so stuffed.

Whaaa!!! I'm in tears. I am so happy that Coco's Cafe 可可餐飮 in Sugarland - the one-and-only Taiwanese restaurant still here after CoVid restaurant lockdown of 2020 and chaotic year of restrictions in 2021. My sister requested a special trip because she remembered the tastes when she visited 6 years ago. That was when I hosted Taste of Taiwan UYE and discovered Coco's Cafe has what we crave for. They removed stinky tofu from the menu due to a complaint from a group of customers walked out years ago. We chatted with the owner Mr. Wang. He said they stayed open during CoVid, simply because they didn't have anything else to do. That's a lot of restaurant owners said. It's either stay at home do nothing or come to work because of their passion in feeding hungry customers. They had trouble finding employees, just like any restaurants out there. So, your patience is required. From where I can tell, Mr. Wang will continue serving delicious Taiwanese food until the lease ends. You better hurry up before it's too late.

The egg/tofu appetizers plus their chili/soy sauce sauce is always a favorite of mine!! So simple but the flavors mix well together and the sauce isn't overly spicy and is pretty sweet. Pork Chop Rice is one of my favorites in houston. It did go up in price but is still under $10 pretax. The breading is pretty light and the pork chop is juicy. The side dishes are just ok compared to some of the other Taiwanese restaurants in houston but overall it's decent value for the amount of food you get.

Delicious! Their crepes are so spongy and yum. We had a savory ham crepe and a sweet Nutella and banana crepe. We also had lattes. Everything was delicious

    - so much value for the quantity of food ($9 total!) - really yummy pork chop, broccoli, and egg - fast service - not much seating but still cute and cozy environment

I have never been disappointed every time I eat at this place. The food is really good. It's just a hole in the wall place with nothing much in terms of ambience. During lunchtime the place is packed what with only 10 tables. A lot of to go business. When you're craving Taiwanese cuisine this is the best place to go and eat

Do not wake me up before you Coco to Coco's Cafe, because it's just not my place. Ew. One of our worst experiences in Houston right down from the way that we were greeted with the most hostile, what the f are you doing in my place, kind of attitude, right down to the horrendous dumplings that tasted like they had been sitting in the warm sun for about 2 months and made me sick and I only had one. Everything about this place was disappointing and if it wasn't a family business I would give it one star and I certainly won't come back.

I got there right at Saturday opening & a customer was already there studying/working. The brick wall and forest wall mural with indoor dim lighting gave a cool and chill cafe vibe. The employee was welcoming and friendly while I made my final order decision. I got the matcha latte with oat milk (vanilla syrup is used) & jalapeño sausage & cheese kolache. My friend got a Texas latte & sausage breakfast sandwich. My friend said the latte was energizing & the sandwich was perfectly filling. My matcha latte was little too sweet and creamy for me so I'll probably just need to make little adjustments for my preference next time like almond milk and less syrup. The kolache was a very good serving size and only wish I had a stronger jalapeño taste. We definitely need to come back for another visit soon!

The main selling point here seems to be the ability to make your own soup. They allow you to pick between ramen, udon, or pho noodles, select one (or a mix) of five broths, and your preferred protein. It seems to already be a bit of a neighborhood spot. There were groups of students studying, people hanging out, etc. Maybe it's not as new as I thought? I was surprised at how... thin... the Banh Mi Cha Lua was. After years in Midtown and Chinatown, I'm used to stacked sandwiches for the price. The meat was a type of cold cut pork. My wife loved it, but I found it underwhelming. The roll had a nice crisp texture to it though, as if the top had been coated in oil and fried slightly during baking. The bowl seemed a bit expensive for what we got. About six slices of meat over noodles. We sampled all of the broths and combined two of our favorites. The broths seemed to taste better on their own than when mixed in with the noodles. Maybe we didn't let it sit long enough before diving in? The teas were about par for the course at a suburban teahouse. The cups were a bit heavy on the ice, which makes a $6 drink less than appealing. The flavor is good and they mix it strong when adding milk, which leaves a solid flavor. I highly recommend the brown sugar milk tea.

It is the only place in Sugar Land of its kind, which is a perfect reason to check it out. The atmosphere is laid back with the kind of chill vibe that anyone in a cafe would particularly enjoy. Usually they have music playing in the background and on a day-to-day basis people lounging around and using the Wi-Fi or playing board games. It all starts with their specialty coffees, the Rang series of Vietnamese coffee brewed drinks. The Rang cafe den da is simply black coffee, but folks who want something a little sweeter should go with their signature Rang cafe sua da. My personal choice typically is the super sua da, which comes with an added punch in addition to the sweetness. Their bac xiu is another specialty drink that is worth everyone's time, and comes heated or iced. Just as their social name (#1) suggests, they serve "phin" caffeinated beverages, in addition to smoothies and a good variety of matcha based drinks. They also have a limited food selection of mainly pastries, which includes croissants and even banh bao. Prices are pretty standard for most drinks, but the food might be a little bit more than what some folks are used to. There are ultra popular Vietnamese coffee places in the Chinatown area, but Rang reigns supreme in Sugar Land. They've done a great job and have become my perpetual WiFi + caffeinated destination whenever I'm in the area. ___________ (#1) Rang Coffee and more (@rang.coffeeandmore)
