AAA is not going to acknowledge my claim for their client rear ending me. They say the demand letter doesn't "rise" to the policy. That is evasive language for a company that the public pays to handle car accidents. My attorney sent them a letter with my evidence of being rear ended, the other drivers insurance, license and picture of his car. I have been to the doctor, paid medical expenses, and this accident cost me my job making $85K per year since 2020. AAA is basically ignoring my attorney Levian Law. No loss of income $15K, no future medical allowance $28K, nothing for additional cost of car rental $800. Nothing for being rear ended and snapping my neck sideways $15K. I have been a AAA multi policy member for 30 years. I've never been treated more poorly than I was today by Mike Hernandez at the Costa Mesa branch. I removed a vehicle from my policy because we sold it and my rate increased. My husband has been given a company vehicle to drive so our mileage on the other cars will not change. According to Mike we have to pay for mileage that we won't be driving. I will be cancelling this policy and ending my 30 year relationship with AAA. read more

I am a senior citizen and my mother used to advise me to get AAA because she said they were thee best. Today my wife's car battery died. She called roadside assistance. An hour later a tow truck arrives with NO battery. They tested her battery and said it is dead. The tow truck driver said they will have a battery in a week. Not tomorrow, not in two days, not three days, not four days, not five days, not six days.............a "WEEK"? This is not the AAA that my mom advised me of. I have been with AAA for 40 years. This is not the AAA that I remember from decades ago. So I called the manager of Road Side assistance, and she told me that she would get someone in about an hour. I called an hour later and she said she would get someone in about an hour. I went online and found the corporate office in Costa Mesa on their website. One of the pages of their website says "AAA Headquarters & Corporate Office AAA headquarters is located at 3333 Fairview Road , Costa Mesa, California 92626, phone number 877-552-4934 where you can reach the management team and the head office leading departments. When I called, I was told that I cannot speak to the management team and the head office leading departments. All I am allowed to speak with is the manager that is neither solving my problem, not ensuring that no other AAA member has to suffer this absolute incompetence. How can a tow truck company be allowed to represent and serve AAA members if it takes them a week to order a battery. Does it take them a week to order a few gallons of gas if you run out of gas on the road? I cannot believe that AAA service has declined this badly. I cannot believe that upper management hides behind low level supervisors and managers. That is a sure sign of apathy and incompetence. AAA needs a DOGE visit. read more

Hit some debris and my car was leaking what seemed like water or something minor. Called AAA and Pamela over the phone told me they would give a quick inspection to see if anything was wrong before requiring a tow. Two towing companies kept requesting payment for the next hour with no inspection and not fulfilling what we were told would happen. Customer service was not helpful, would not answer questions, or be able to explain why an agent would lie. When we called back, we could not get ahold of that agent and there was no accountability. I met your AAA rep at the O.C. Fair I think it was as. 8-3-25. His booth was set up right inside one of the entrances. I walked right over as I had been wanting to get the great service you have always offered. I only wanted to get the towing service, battery start, etc. I have had AAA for about 35yrs. Bait and switch, got a multi policy discount now 7 weeks later because the incompetent broker Kerry Petersen and the branch manager Hamilton didn't realize they don't insure the area this year because of last years fires. Buyer beware! Crooked company do not purchase AAA auto. Canceled policy because they are the most ridiculously priced, at time of closing rep stated 0 due. A month later got a bill for 250 when I called to ask for clarification. They could not give a detailed response. Then they slap it on my credit report saying refusal to pay. Never experienced such crooked and shady business as I did with AAA. Other auto companies just cancel with no hidden fees!!! read more

This location had a good amount of parking (we went to the Auto Insurance section). We waited under 10 minutes on a weekday afternoon to be helped, and there was plenty of seating, which looked new and clean. The building is larger than the Birch location, though also busier. Katelyn helped us, and she worked to resolve a couple of issues we had with our account. She was very friendly and made sure we had what we needed! Overall, I'd recommend this AAA location. TIP: you can get your vehicle smogged at this location. While we did not use this particular service, it was our first time finding out that it was available at this location. read more

The reviews here are a mixed bag and like most places of business, you will encounter great staff and sometimes not so nice ones. Thankfully for us we were fortunate to have experienced not only courteous, but very friendly and respectful AAA staffers when we visited the last Saturday of August. It was all of our first time at this particular AAA location with the spacious parking lot and we purposely came with the intention of obtaining an International Driver's Permit (IDP). To note, AAA is the only US organization authorized by the US Department of State to issue IDPs. So, anyone planning to rent a car and drive in any of the 150 countries (AAA has a list of these countries) must carry an IDP as it's the only recognized form of identification in order to drive abroad legally. This is my second time getting an IDP and both times the process has been painless. It's $20 for the IDP and $5 for two photos (which can be taken and immediately printed at AAA) if you don't bring your own passport sized photos. Once obtained, the IDP is valid for one year from the date stamped on the cover. Real reason for this review is because I just wanted to give a shout-out to Ray C. and the girl at the reception desk for being extremely patient and super kind while helping us! While Ray was helping us process the IDP, we were chatting and the topic of car registration came up. I mentioned that my sticker never came in the mail for last year's dues even after I paid for my vehicle registration online like I usually do annually. Mine happens to be due again and even though I didn't have my letter from the DMV with me, Ray informed us that all we needed was the VIN (which can be found on your vehicle insurance card) for him to pull up the car information. I paid for the renewal of my car registration and received my new sticker. So easy and no waiting for it to be mailed from the DMV! Thank you, Ray! read more

Barely sat down after walking about 100 feet, and boom I had paid 2 minutes later and was out the door in less than 10 minutes. Everybody should change insurances. I got into an accident off of the off ramp that wasnt Even My fault. A drunk driver crashed into a tree and his debris landed on the road. As a result multiple Cars Not just mine hit The Debris. When i filed the claim they said it was my fault even though some stupid drunk driver was the result of my accident. I had no control what So ever and they pushed hard to make it seem like my fault when I've been with them over 10 years. They didnt even try to fight for me and they even tried to go after the other guys insurance after blaming me. Now I'm paying double the amount after I driven so long to reduce my monthly payment. Service is horrible, they lie to your face. Every time I talk to someone different it's a different story. I have been with them for 20 years and this is how they treat their loyal customers?? All they want is to sell you the most expensive plan, they do not care about you. All they want is your money. I had to talk to a supervisor to be able to make changes to both my home insurance and auto. I had to reduce coverage because the prices hiked so much even though I have never filed a claim or been in a car accident or ticket. This will probably be the last time I renew with them. I don't like to write negative reviews but this one is necessary. July 16th I bought two policies through AAA Costa Mesa. Renter's went through with no problem. My auto policy has not. It's been 30 days and I still have not received my proof of insurance. AAA says I have auto insurance but with no proof I can't drive my car. I have been trying to touch base with the manager, Nick Torres, who is supposed to be handling my problem but multiple calls later he has not responded to my request for an update. This has cost me an additional $100 because I could not cancel my policy with Liberty Mutual (it's leaving the state) without AAA proof of insurance. In 10 days my Liberty Mutual insurance will end and unless AAA solves my problem I will be unable to take my car out. If I cancel my policies with AAA I believe they will charge me cancellation fees and I've already paid twice for the last 30 days. Nick's supervisor will be my next call. I wish it hadn't come to this. read more

Absolute incompetence. When the pandemic hits and there's a employee shortage, I guess that means AAA will hire any IDIOT that can breathe and barely graduated high school. I talked to no less than three phone reps requesting to SCHEDULE a tow for the following morning. The first rep told me the tow wasn't possible. I was trying to move my dormant/non-operational car from my driveway to a storage yard. The idiot rep named "Precious" assumed I said junkyard (didn't bother to clarify) and told me they don't provide that type of towing service. I asked her if the decision was done by AAA or the tow provider. She said the provider and when I asked to verify with the provider, she audibly huffed (it sounded like my request put her in respiratory depression) and kept stammering trying to come up with the information. I hung up in disgust. When you reach an idiot customer service rep, the best plan short of leaving the service altogether is hang up, call again, and hope you don't get a moron on the other end. Second rep was named "Joslyn" - seemed competent for the most part - verified that my membership (been with them for a few decades through family membership and branched out on my own) was valid for up to four tows 100 miles away. She further confirmed that I could tow to whichever "destination of my choice", except for junk yards. See the difference? Unlike "Precious" (her name must've gotten to her head) - who assumed I was towing to a junkyard, Joslyn verified what I had said - which was towing to a storage unit where you pay monthly rent for space/unit. Joslyn was great until the part where she was helping me schedule a tow for the following morning. Except she didn't. While she was asking me the pickup/dropoff locations, I started getting text alerts to my phone notifying me that a tow driver was dispatched... another one that said a driver was on the way to my home... and a third text that said driver's ETA was about 30 minutes. I brought this up to Joslyn and confirmed with her that a driver wasn't being sent out today, but tomorrow - since I was trying to handle all of this during my lunch break at work. She said she'd notate my account and email the dispatch team so they can reschedule to the following morning (a request I made when I first started the call and multiple times throughout). Needless to say, after we hung up, about 15 minutes later, the tow driver called me to tell me his driver was on his way to my home. I clarified that I wanted it scheduled tomorrow. Guy said his driver was already enroute and he'd try to cancel. I know these guys work fast, and these services aren't cheap. They'd save so much more time and money if the AAA call center wasn't completely incompetent. Third call was to cancel my membership and request a prorated refund. I spoke to Theresa, who initially was gung-ho about me cancelling my membership (nice way to treat a long-time member). When she clarified what I wanted, she pulled up the notes the previous rep took and realized that the rep had just notated that I wanted to schedule for following morning, but didn't actually reach out to dispatch to tell them - which is why they subsequently sent a driver out. Third rep was able to straighten things out - but seriously, this was for a tow for a car I just wanted to move from my home to a storage unit. If I had been in an accident or stranded in the middle of the freeway or something - and I had to deal with absolute morons who somehow survived a full lobotomy - definitely would not be a happy camper. Despite my long time membership, and rarely utilizing any service calls allotted to members each year - I resorted to going through Yelp for a independent towing service provider altogether. This is proof that AAA membership is not worth it. At the cost of $89+ a year, and zero service calls the past few years - they've gotten more money than they deserve from me at this point. If you can't provide a basic service like towing - your company's bread and butter when it comes to roadside assistance, "membership" is no use to me. My current car comes standard with roadside assistance and so does my auto insurance through State Farm. AAA customer service has gone down the sewage. Going to cancel my membership and request a refund on Tuesday when their offices open up. The level of incompetence is astounding and unacceptable. It's like they took all the rejects that got fired or tested out of working at the DMV, and dragged them over to staff their call center. And don't blame the pandemic. Not a valid excuse when you're AAA. I work in healthcare and have managed fine. No excuse for incompetence. Train your people better or hire people with some sense of customer service. read more

Zero Stars I'm so disappointed by the poor service. I would never recommend them to anyone after my experience. They are very responsive to help when taking your money to sign up. After that, if there are any problems- good luck. I fell for their "We can save you a lot of money" mailer. A month after signing up I get a cancellation letter because my house had a wood roof. I disclosed this when signing up. I had to start all over and get different home and auto insurance. The experience was awful and deceptive. She is shady as she only cares about her company's earnings. I am about to leave California and just fly home to my home state and she's still playing hide and seek; hard to get. California roadside Service is a provider for AAA! Today was a very ugly, disgusting situation by a tow truck driver that works for California Roadside Service! I told the driver, don't drive the vehicle because there's no transmission fluid or engine coolant! He saw that I was disabled and did the exact opposite! He drove the vehicle out of my driveway spewing transmission fluid everywhere and when he got to the middle of the street, the car would no longer move forward or in reverse and he continued to rev it until there was a loud popping noise! He got out of the vehicle, left it in the middle of the street and moved his tow truck back to try and load the vehicle! He winched the car halfway up the bed and then released the vehicle into the street! Walked towards me and threw my keys and the ($10 tip I gave him before all of this) at me! He said " go F myself and that it's my fault" and drove away leaving a disabled person without any help, on the side of the road! Is this the type of employees AAA and California Roadside Service want to use to represent them? I've never been treated like this in the 25 years as a member at AAA! What will AAA and California Roadside Service do to resolve these multiple problems that happened to me tonight? The driver knew he was guilty of breaking my transmission in my car and spewing transmission fluid all over my driveway, then throwing my keys at an disabled person and leaving me stranded!
