Over the years my hubby has bought me James Avery jewelry...first buying me a bracelet and then systematically adding charms. He bought me a running shoe charm before my first marathon, wedding charms before our wedding and angel wings when my MIL passed (She lived with us for 17 years before she passed.) These charms have a great deal of sentimental value. Usually, I receive some form of James Avery jewelry throughout the year. For Mother's Day I did not expect any as we're a planning a 25th Wedding Anniversary trip. My hubs got the most thoughtful charm. He purchased a little purse charm as he knows I have a penchant for purses. The charm had a pink and green color, which is the colors of my sorority. How thoughtful is that? I am very blessed to have such a great husband. I dropped off the charm to James Avery to add to my bracelet. James Avery, or James Avery Artisan Jewelry is a Texas-based, family-owned company specializing in designing hand crafted rings, bracelets, earrings, charms and other jewelry. Founder James Avery began crafting jewelry in 1954 out of his Mother-in-Law's garage. Interestingly, James crafted the Apollo XII astronaut's pins and pieces for other NASA missions in 1989 and 1992, as well as the silver communion vessels used by Pope John Paul II at his mass in San Antonio in 1987. I like they offer a section of sterling silver, gold, other materials, and precious and semi-previous stones. Their customization options allow buyers to add initials, birthstones, engraving and other personalization options. I've admired coworker's James Avery jewelry and ordered my cross and chain by browsing through a mail order catalog and then ordering online. We do have a brick and mortar store in Huntsville, AL. Went into James Avery Arboretum on Great Hills to have a cross pendant cleaned and polished from years of being tarnished black. The staff was warm, welcoming and very helpful. Was able to have the pendant cleaned, polished and restored to like new appearance while I waited thanks to the lovely Jocelyn! Would definitely recommend this location hands down! She made sure to tell me tips on the proper care of my jewelry to keep it shiny. She helped me pick out the perfect gift for my friend, and made sure to put a gift receipt in case my friend didn't love it. She hit every mark, and made me feel like a valued customer. I've been going to the James Avery in Pflugerville for years and years now. I've never received such brush off service until I visited this location. The only person who greeted me upon arrival was a woman who was new and apologized she couldn't be more helpful. I just appreciated the friendlyness and patiently waited while two ladies seemed to be having a chat talking bad about another customer. Finally after a few minutes I got asked if I had been helped yet, this made me laugh to myself being that she saw me come in and proceeded to ignore me. Fake!! The charms with "enamel" do not seem to be actual jewelry enamel. Customer service (Katie?) said they are "cold processed" but could not tell me what the material actually consisted of. (Jewelry enamel is made of glass.) The woman at the southpark meadows store (Nicole) told me they were "heat treated". Regardless, the colored portion of the charms changed color when jump rings were laser welded by a professional bench jeweler. Enamel does not change color. Two charms had larger jump rings added and are ruined. JA can only offer me 50% off more charms. buyer beware- not quality jewelry. read more

Beautiful jewelry here. Still wearing necklaces I brought 5 years ago that are in great shape. The sweetest ladies used to work here, truly great people. I used to got to to this store all the time to clean my jewelry or purchase pieces. As of recently I've noticed the staff isn't as friendly anymore. More like they don't want to be there. The other day I went in to get charms added to my bracelet and I got it back today and one of the brand new pieces is already damaged. I have the James Avery cleaning cloth and it won't budge. I have been a big fan of James Avery jewelry since the 70s or so. And it has lasted all these years until either it tarnished or I lost it. But, when I went into the Arboretum, James Avery location, the women there were so friendly and welcoming, and Non-pressure sales people. I'm glad to see that there is still a store presence for James Avery and the women that work for his company. read more

THEY "LOST" MY CHARM BRACELET!!! I have been in the store several times for a repair and each time has been filled with dissatisfaction. One of my charms got caught and stretched the links and safety chain so had to be replaced. 2/8/21-1st time: They bought back the damaged bracelet and sent the retired charm to be repaired. As I was leaving, noticed an extra charge on receipt that had not been discussed. Lauren the asst. informed me they would charge back when I returned. 2nd time: Picked up my bracelet and noticed 2 of the charms had been placed incorrectly. 3rd time: Repaired charm was ready. Colleen, mgr, stated several times that there were no notes for charge back. After some time , decided to come through. I also purchased another charm and was having the repaired charm & new charm put on the bracelet. 4th time: return a couple of days later to pick up, wait at the 'convenient' drive thru and they can't find my bracelet. I had no more time to wait as now I'm late for work. They called me that afternoon to tell me it still has not been located. 3/3/21-5th time: go back to the store after work, Colleen proceeded to tell me how upset THEY were that MY bracelet was missing. Are you kidding me?? In 13 yrs with the company, this has never happened, however ' she knows exactly how I feel'. Way to go Colleen. Poor effort in trying to get sympathy for your stores inadequacies. She said she would call me in 2 days. Not sure what she expects to change, as she said it's been a top priority and they have searched everywhere. I am completely devastated. There is so much sentimental value tied to my bracelet. Each one, except the last one I purchased has been a gift from my children, my husband, and dearest friends. Some items are retired and maybe you can duplicate it but you will never ever be able to replace it, so please stop saying that! I went in today to purchase a gift for a friend. I usually shop at the store in Cedar Park but I happen to be closer to this location. The girl that was helping me with my purchase was very sweet. I work in the medical field and I had scrubs on so she asked if I was a first responder. I said no but I was in the medical field. She said oh we have a discount if you have your badge. I explained I did not as we were talking a very rude employee came up and stated the discount was for first responders only. Which is fine, I did not ask for the discount the employee that was assisting me offered it. The point of the matter is the other employee was very rude about it when there was no need for it. I went in to make a purchase and did not ask about a discount. Again the employee that was helping me with my purchase was very nice and apologized. But due to the rudeness of this employee I will not be going back to this location again. read more
