As for Dr. McDowell he has changed my life in the best possible way. For many years I never smiled for pictures due to the insecurity of my teeth. He did a full restoration of my mouth and I truly feel like a new man. I'm now the 1st person to smile at a stranger and I even show my teeth for pictures. I have since relocated out of the area but I'm keeping Tamal Vista because they are that good. I explained this to her, but Angelina started cleaning my teeth anyway and spraying water all over my face. At one point, she threw a napkin at me and said she didn't have time to be tidy because I was so late. She was being so aggressive and scary (giving Steve Martin in Little shop of Horrors vibes) that I finally decided it was time to leave. I asked her to stop and she said, "ok, bye, sir" (wtf - I'm a woman and not particularly masculine). It took me a year to decide to give them another chance. This time, a few weeks ago, I got a hygienist named Karen (of course). While she was poking around in my mouth, I winced slightly when she poked the gums behind my two front teeth. She asked if I was ok. I told her I was fine, but that I felt the sharp tool on my gums. Instead of saying, "oops, sorry!" or something innocuous, she instantly got defensive, saying she didn't touch my gums. Not the response you want from the person holding the sharp tools! She asked if I wanted her to numb my gums and I said, "no thanks". Instead of just continuing on with her work, she said, "Um, ok, because you seem a little ...". She didn't finish the sentence, but it was just odd - she was either projecting or trying to provoke a response. As she continued to be rude, I decided it wasn't worth my time to have someone who hates their job taking out their frustrations on my teeth and gums. I got up and left before it could get worse. I had a great dentist in the town where I used to live and there are many other dental practices in the same building as Evosmile. On my way out, I made an appointment with one of them.

I give the Lindsay and Bridget office staff both 1 star. Lindsay got me very angry two years ago…read moreand laughed at me and most recently I had a bad experience with her laughing at me again. Bridget seemed to have a weird change in appearance when I was in the office the beginning of the year. Bridget a couple of years ago was very mean to me and when filling out an invoice got the year wrong. She did fix it when pointed out to her. There is some bait and switch game going on with the appointments available online for booking. Two appointments I booked online were cancelled immediately and one when I called the office they gave some clearly a lie for the reason. For my recent appointment that was cancelled, I booked another online for an evening hygienist that was not Sam (Sam has a bad attitude problem) and I called the morning of the appointment and my hygienist appointment with the part-time hygienist was not available. When I told Bridget (office girl) I will be writing a review she offered me an appointment that next day, but that is not okay. When Lindsay and Bridget (office people) got me very angry two years ago, I wrote a review. And Dr. Kantor left a voice mail message and asked me to delete it and asked what I wanted in return for deleting it. I did delete it then, but it did not seem right to accept his offer for something in return, and I did not ask for anything in return. However, I will not be deleting this review. I give Dr. Kantor 4 stars and hygienist Sam 3 stars. Sam can do the job but seems to have severe attitude issues. The office seems to have a policy the first time you are seen or the first time with a hygienist to get good service but after the first time the service declines. And the office has a high turnover. If you book online, be aware of appointments listed that aren't available and complain about bad office staff. And please read other 1-, 2-, and 3-star reviews.

After the scan he could not say what's wrong with the state of my teeth, then referred me to a dentist in San Francisco, but insisted me to pay for $250 and sign on a treatment plan as a receipt. This treatment plan was supposed to be presented to me before he conducted the work to show I would agree to his work. I was conned. Reported to the insurance grievance, Dental Board of CA, BBB, etc, but these ended in vain. I would not recommend this dentist.
