James Limousine did a wonderful job handling the ground transportation needs for my daughter's wedding earlier this month. We had a number of guests staying at different hotels and James Limousine made it easy to get them to the ceremony & reception and then get them back to their respective hotels. We were recently in the Charlottesville area and wanted to visit some wineries in the area. It was a last-minute planned trip, and after calling and emailing probably 5 wine tour options, James Limousine was the first to respond. I spoke with Kate who easily provided me with options of wineries to visit that would be serving wines that I liked (she asked me what I preferred: full body reds or nice and light whites or sweeter dessert-types, etc.). She clearly knows the wineries in the area--and she knows wine. So, I instantly felt good about choosing to use James Limousine. We hadn't intended on going the way of a private tour, but it ended up working out that way. Carl, our driver, was perfect; he was accommodating and appropriate. He took us to an extra winery that was not originally included on our private tour where we actually met Kate. She had earlier been scoping out this new winery for their future tours, and after liking what she tasted, she called Carl to have him swing us by for the extra tasting. Lunch was provided (Carl set everything up for us at one of the wineries) and maps of Virginia Wine Country with these nice waiter's corkscrews as well (I can never have enough of those corkscrews). All in all, the price might initially seem a little higher than a group tour, but I do feel like we got a lot more for less money (we were also given extra time to visit another winery at the end...on the house!). Add all of that plus the initial price that included fuel, tax, and driver gratuity, and you see how we actually did save money...and for a better experience! read more

The sprint van I was in was absolutely wonderful for the occasion, it was clean, up to date, and had plenty of perks to make the ride the best that it could be. They have several options for whatever your need is. I will definitely be using James Limousine in the future! I also highly recommend Joyce, I recently had her as a driver, she was wonderful. I needed a ride, they provided one. On time at that. These days it seems like that alone is something that deserves 5 stars because it is so hard to find competent companies. James Limousine was so much more! It was incredibly easy to book a somewhat last minute ride to the airport online. Very very early the next morning (like 4:30 AM early) my flight was significantly delayed. I was able to text my driver ASAP to let him know I needed to reschedule. I had his contact information because James Limo is the ultimate communicator. I was emailed extensive details upon booking confirmation. Thank you! The driver was respectfully a few minutes early. He dressed and acted appropriately professional. (I've had some questionable rides from other companies in different cities. Nothing like a frightful ride to the airport to get the stress started early.) The vehicle was immaculate and a newer model Suburban. The best choice ever. We hired James Limousine to transport our son and new daughter in-law away from their wedding reception to where they were spending the night. They were so easy to work with. They send updates throughout the night as to where the driver was. He arrived at the venue 15 minutes early and was awaiting their arrival out from the reception. The car was beautiful, and had all the fancy amenities you could want. They were courteous and very professional and my son and daughter were wisked away in total luxary and comfort! PLEASE DO NOT use James Limousine! Read on and you will understand. I went on James Limousine's website to quote out getting a shuttle to take our family and a couple of others on the Tacky Light Tour here in Richmond, VA, I followed the link on the website to make a reservation, the price it quoted me was for the Tacky Light Tour, 3 hours, 16 passenger shuttle for $460.80. I only waited to book because I wanted to check with the others in the group and with it being a holiday I wanted to be sure it would get booked properly, so instead of booking online, I called to make the reservation this morning. To my surprise a man named Randy, who claims to be the owner of the company, tried to at first say that I had done something wrong to get the price that I got from the website then once I had walked him through it, and he saw the price he said that that part of the website was wrong and that actually I should have scrolled down further on the webpage (beyond the make a reservation link, although there is no statement to do so) and then I would have seen a chart with the appropriate pricing for Tacky Light Tour which is almost TWICE what the quote was. When I questioned him about honoring the price that came up he refused, stating I could just go elsewhere if I didn't like the pricing! When I asked Randy what would have happened if I had booked my reservation with the price showing $460 (no small amount by the way), he stated that he would have confirmed by email that the proper price was $793 (a HUGE discrepancy), and if I did not like that price I could cancel my seasonal, once a year, impossible to book event and go elsewhere! This is in direct violation of the company's own price disclaimer which states that rates ARE guaranteed once a reservation is made! Furthermore, since Randy stated that, as owner of the company, he had been integral in setting up the website (he only mentioned this when he was trying to tell me I had done something wrong in getting to that quote, he soon learned he was the one that was wrong), he had constructive knowledge of what that website indicated and how those indications would be received by consumers. With that knowledge in mind, this takes on a disturbing price gouge appearance, which is both illegal and disgusting. Your disclaimer doesn't protect you when your own owner states he would violate it himself. But even more than the illegality of all of this is the huge lack of integrity and responsibility this company, particularly its owner, seems to have to our community. Even Martin's, a national company with far less reason to be responsible to this community, honors the prices they inadvertently leave on their items, because integrity matters, truth in advertising matters, community commitment matters. My 7, 5 and 3 year old children, along with two other families and their combined 4 children were seriously looking forward to this event, most of all to riding in a limo. Randy wouldn't know about them because he was too busy laughing at my concern over a $333 difference in price but they were the biggest part of setting up this event. To behave as if I can just cancel and go somewhere else, particularly this time of year, for this particular event, is ridiculous and callous even in the best light. Finally, it cannot go without saying that this "prominent" location of the Tackly Light Tour pricing that you speak of is not even visible when you are at the top of the page, but you know what is? The Make a Reservation link, that's right, the place to go when you are READY to make a reservation. Which is where I went with every intention of booking this event. Silly of me to believe that in doing so I would ACTUALLY be able to get accurate pricing and book a worthwhile reservation. In all of this, the one thing that everyone can be absolutely certain of is that I did not design the website, I did not miss a notification to disregard pricing given at reservation and scroll down further on the website, I did not disregard the James Limousine disclaimer, and I did not lack the integrity to stand behind the information on my website, only one entity/person did that and that is Randy, owner of James Limousine. You should be ashamed of your disrespectful and cruel response on the phone, you should be ashamed of how you do business and you should be ashamed of the disappointment you caused 7 children this holiday season. read more

I've used this company for transportation to the airport and never had an issue. Infact their rates are descent compared to taxi. However, when I booked for airport travel from the airport to my house, that was when I lost faith. First off to book on their website you have to do it in advance and you get billed the time of booking which includes gratuity. Once at their website I found that the process was not as streamlined as before. When I arrived at the airport I realized that I booked for the wrong date. I called the driver and the company and both seemed unprofessional, unorganized, and had no customer service. The person basically behaved in a manor of "it's not my problem." In the end, I did not receive an apology for their lack of communication, no credit or refund, and I was stuck at the airport having to figure out another mode of transportation. Overall, my past experience the ride is good but if you have a problem, which sometimes you can't predict, you might end up stranded and on your own. read more

I used other "driver companies" in the Richmond metropolitan area for years until I read about James Limousine. I've been using James Limo for 17 years and they are the BEST. They book the trip, send emails confirming the reservation, send a 24-hour in advance reminder, a two-hour reminder and no matter what the pick up time is, the driver is always in my driveway about 10 minutes early. As soon as I open my front door, the driver walks up the walkway to take my bag, puts it in the trunk, holds the door while I get in. The driver gets in and offers me a bottle, or two, of water. I use them mostly to go to and from the airport but have also used them several times to take me to the Amtrak station. The drivers go out of their way to be sure the passenger is comfortable and has everything he/she needs. The fee includes the ride, tolls and gratuity. It's always a pleasure to meet the various drivers and learn about their backgrounds, how they "wound up" with James Limo. The drivers are courteous, professional and listen - a rare find in today's world. I commend James Limo, its reservation "agents" highly. And, the person "at the top" must really walk the talk. I was working a wedding last night and the bride and groom's post reception ride to their hotel fell through. I called James Limousine Service less than 4 hours before the end of the reception and spoke with Lynn who was able to accommodate my last minute request to pick up the happy couple from the reception hall and drop them safely at their hotel. Al, the driver, contacted me well in advance of the pick up time to confirm he was on his way and when he arrived, he literally rolled out a red carpet for the bride and groom and popped a "Just Married" sign on the car, giving a proper send off for the newlyweds. This was a top flight wine tasting experience. I expected a quality vehicle and was pleased with the very comfortable mini-coach for our group of 12 people. What I did not expect was the customer service James Limo provided. Our driver was prompt, polite, and informative. Every vineyard we visited was prepared for our arrival and treated us with exceptional hospitality. When our group stayed a bit long at one vineyard the driver quickly called ahead to notify the other vineyards and adjusted the time of our trip without a question.
