The other reviews pretty much sum it up. Dr. Loconte is great. He's a great guy, and a great chiropractor. As an athlete, and being tall (6'-7"), I've seen my share of PT's and chiropractors. No one has been as direct and efficient as Dr. Locante. I've never been pressured to set up an ongoing plan, and he's always gone out of his way to fit me in when I really need it. I can't say enough about the guy, so if you're looking for a chiropractor or kinesiologist then do yourself a favor and go see him. Also, I would be remiss if I didn't give a big plug to the massage therapist that he has in his office. Meisha is amazing! She's a masseuse, physical therapist, and a trainer all wrapped into 1! I see her as often as I can afford and love every minute of it. Whether you want a general back massage, or you have an old hamstring tear that still knots up, she can take care of you. Make sure to give lots of feedback, she's one of the rare therapists that will listen to you and tailor your time with her to exactly what you're looking for....now isn't that refreshing :) read more

I was referred to Dr. LoConte as I injured my Achilles tendon during one of my personal training sessions. I have had many surgeries on my left leg in the past, but this time it was my right leg that was bothering me. In the past, I have been to chiropractors that literally bring me in and see me for 10 minutes, then I'm out. I have really thought about it over the years, and although I am no expert of the body--doesn't it make sense that the muscles and tendons around the skeleton also need help otherwise they will pull the bones right back to where they started? Just sayin'... Dr. LoConte is different than most chiropractors I've seen. He spends a very long time with each of his patients and uses Kinesthesiology to relieve the soreness in muscles so that the spine and other joints work together properly instead of against each other. He also has a tremendously relaxing bedside manner and a great sense of humor. I highly recommend Dr. LoConte. You will not be disappointed! read more

I have a Chiropractor in San Carlos whom I love. He cured me of my headaches and seriouslyI could breathe and hear better when I left his office...but he was in San Carlos...that's a half hour drive AUGH!! So the thought of finding a new Chirocrackter was .... well I would say a bad word but I won't. I tried a couple on Yelp and simply was not impressed...THEN...I threw my lower back out. As a Whore to the Core, this was distressing as it was interrupting my Pilates. Everybody with the opinion, it was my beloved Pilates instructor who suggested Dr. Loconte. I was in sooooooo much pain even a mediocre adjustment would do. Well let me tell you, I am so happy that I found Dr. LoConte. Dr. LoConte is a very easy man to like. He is very funny, easy going, and patient. Pair that with his awesome skills and you've got the makings of an incredible D.C. I was referred to Dr. LoConte because my little fender bender was causing me to have frequent attacks of vertigo. It was so bad I would almost hurl if I so much as blinked the wrong way. So off I went to Dr. LoConte's, did minimal paperwork and was scheduled in right away. Usually there's a bit of bad before the good stuff comes but after my appointment, it was all good! After my appointment with the great Doc, I was a new woman! All my bones were finally where they're suppose to be-NOT making me sick and hurting me. My husband and I both see Dr. LoCo and have recommended several friends to him as well. He groks that we're active people who want our bodies to function well so we can use them hard. I appreciate that his long term "care" plan is "Call me when you feel like you need an adjustment", rather than trying to get me on some monthly maintenance program (like my former chiro). He's also been willing to tweak his schedule for us on days when he was otherwise fully booked to fit in a short-notice adjustment after a hard weekend of snowboarding. We're able to make appointments with him over email, which I find very convenient, since I'm not always able to phone and he's often not able to answer the phone since he's seeing patients. BTW, Miesha, the massage therapist who shares office space with Dr. LoConte has a skilled and intuitive touch. The days when I can schedule a deep tissue massage with her before my adjustment are a real treat - I feel completely relaxed and "right in my skin" when I leave there. read more

I have been to several other chiropractors with fair-to-middling results, even after multiple sessions. After one visit to Dr. Jim, I noticed an immediate improvement. Jim is very flexible in his treatment recommendations, and does not use a "cookie cutter" or "assembly line" approach as do other chiropractors. Summary: He's a genius with Kinesthesiology, cures my problems, give me a decent length session with muscle work and a great adjustment (that lasts a month!) for a fair price. I've been seeing Dr. LoConte for two years and can always tell when it's been too long. Simply put, he is fantastic. He is a highly skilled kinesthesiologist/chiropractor and has a natural touch for finding problems. Dr. LoConte does great work with joints, not just neck and back. He is also friendly and is fun to talk to. He doesn't just do a crick crack thing, you get a thorough muscle work over prior to the adjustment which helps the adjustment stay much much much longer and makes me feel amazingly better. With my old chiropractor, who was really good, I needed work more than weekly. With Jim, I go once a month and I feel fantastic. Given that he charges about what a chiro does AND throws in the muscle work, AND you need to see him less often, he's a great deal. If you need more of a testimonial, I came to Dr. LoConte with a long scarred over torn rotator. I complained about a pain when lifting weights. He ran through a few joint movements, then dug in and in about 20 minutes, the problem had largely cleared up and hasn't come back. That is amazing. Dr LoConte is a rock star! I first saw him last year when I'd ruptured a calf muscle playing tennis. A friend kept insisting I go see him, the sooner the better. After 10 days, when I could finally drive, I did go see him and he worked the muscle and used his magic ultra-sound wand and I noticed improvement immediately. The Dr in the ER had told me I had to wear the leg brace for two weeks, not drive for that time, and that it would likely be two months before I could walk properly (and not in the shuffling Quasimodo gait I had developed). I could then "think" about getting back on the tennis courts. After 3 treatments within 2 weeks with Dr LoConte, I was walking just fine, and in fact healed more quickly than another woman in the office who had the same type of injury (ruptured calf during badminton) a month PRIOR to mine. My only regret is that it took me 10 days to go see him - I should have gone sooner. Recently, I revisited him because I've been having on-going shoulder issues (almost 10 months). My regular chiropractor hasn't been able to solve the problem, so I thought I'd go back to Dr. L. After 3 treatments my shoulder is almost 100% again! This after wasting almost a year with my regular chiro. Never again. Dr L spends the time to find out what's ailing you, gets to the heart of the problem, and spends the time to work it out. Dr L does what it takes to get you healthy. He has an approachable and friendly manner, explains what he's doing and tells you about the muscles and how they interact and react when they're stressed. He's absolutely thorough, I've never ever felt rushed or that he didn't have time to answer my questions. This guy is just the best, hands down. I first found Dr. LoConte in the Palo Alto Daily as he had an advert introducing a new massage therapist that would share his office space. I knew her from Axis in Mountain View so I therefore thought James would be excellent and I was right. In the first session he adjusted my ankle and there was a loud pop! My talus was out of alignment. He did more things and when I stood up, I realized I was taller! Not by much, but taller. And, my strappy sandals no longer need to be on the last hole for my right ankle but can now match holes with the sandal on the left!
