The tea shop was vacant for us, so we enjoyed being there together for our little tea time. Even the lady was easy to talk to and her service was good, but we have our second thoughts about this tea shop. We didn't have scones with the cream, only sandwiches and desserts. At least the sandwiches were nice portions for the 2 of us. Other tea shops we have been to, comes in with scones and creams. Desserts were kind oh meh!. They felt like stored-bought desserts for a $35 p/person tea service. On the other hand, I enjoyed the strawberry cobbler, I never had before. You also have the option to try at least 3 different kind of teas, that is good to know for someone trying new teas experiences. But we have to wait a few times for the hot water to come in. In overall, I just wished to have scones with cream included, the desserts being made there and not stored-bought, and the hot water pitcher left in on our table instead of being served, so we can serve ourselves, instead of waiting. Our interaction with Steve in the pro shop was extremely disappointing. He was rude, dismissive, arrogant, and overall just unprofessional throughout our interaction. The experience became so upsetting that it LEFT MY WIFE IN TEARS, which is something we've never experienced at any golf course. That's especially disappointing because Red Hawk Ridge has always been one of our favorite local courses. As Castle Rock residents, we've played here many times over the years with friends and family and have consistently enjoyed the course itself. Unfortunately, because of how we were treated by STEVE, we don't plan to return for the foreseeable future. I hope management takes this feedback seriously and addresses the level of customer service in the pro shop, because the quality of the course deserves a much better experience than the one we had. Quite frankly, I'd expect to start seeing more negative reviews specifically about Steve. He is not an asset to your organization and should not be in a customer-facing role in any way, shape, or form.

The Penrod family and their team have not only brought the facility back from the dead, but they have lovingly restored the historic buildings where possible, and brought new state of the art waterers, plumbing, new electrical systems, much better fencing, and a "can-do" attitude that is extended to everyone quite equally -- whether you are a serious rider like a jumper or dressage rider, or a trail rider like me, you will find your horse extremely well cared for, the hay is awesome, the staff is incredibly responsive, and all of my needs have been met or exceeded. I am so glad I moved "Pete the Wonder Horse" there and look forward to many years of great care and wonderful rides under the watchful eye of great trainers from several disciplines as well as on site management and security. I could not ask for more. I wish the team at BMREC a long and very successful run as the premier boarding & training facility for horses and the families who love them. No drama, just great care.

Wow, my yesterday's visit to this historic park was so mesmerizing. It's because of their annual…read more(?) "Bright Nights" (originally a lantern festival.) It is said that they unveil a brand new theme each year and this year's theme appears to be focused on some Eastern cultures such as cherry blossom and bamboo forest with pandas. Not that I have been to many lights shows and yet I must say that I have never seen anything quite like this as far as my recollection is accurate. In its 12-acre land, the installations of lantern lights are everywhere. After 8:30pm or so when it's dark, the illuminations from the lanterns are glowing brighter than Las Vegas' illuminations (LOL - why am I comparing this to Las Vegas!!) According to the park's website, some of the sculptures are 23-foot tall (such as the cherry blossom gate.) It's currently open from Wednesday through Sunday until October 5th. And last night's was one of the adult-only nights where you must be 21+ to enter (I believe the next and last such night is Sept 17th. And this writing is as of late August of 2025.) I am already curious as to what the next year's theme is going to be. There is a centralized bar, some food vendors, a stage where a performer performs, and a DJ booth. Great for family time, girls' night or date night. Helpful staff were working tirelessly to assist all visitors. Although about 1,300 tickets were sold last night, it was never super jammed packed. There is still time to visit this enchanting light show. Not only for the locals but definitely one of the must-visit attractions for out-of-staters as well.

Every inch of the 12 acres had lights and even in the trees and bushes. So many details that it seemed realistic. Many of the lanterns were interactive such as stationary bikes or cranks to power the lights to glow even brighter. The staff were friendly and happy to help.
