Due to the cost of this instrument, I wanted to make sure I left it in good hands. I contacted Annette and we set up an appointment. Since I was coming from the southbay, she even made time to let me come up on a weekend. Nowell gave it a look over and said he could fix it up. This was pre covid-19 when I dropped it off. After a few days of not finding and acceptable pick guard for it, Annette contacted Steve Gilchrist in Australia, and he sent a replacement pick guard. Nice work Annette! It needed a slight mod since the mounting holes didn't quit line up, so Nowell drilled new ones. I picked it up, we made sure to maintain social distance (can anyone believe we are in this situation right now?) and wearing masks. It looked brand new. Truly stunning when in opened the case. They restrung it and threw in a new pick too. I can't thank you guys enough for a great job! I'll take all my instruments in need of repair here from now on.

I went to this music store to inquire about saxophone lessons and rent an instrument for my child…read more They took my information but never called back. After multiple calls from my end, I finally got in touch with the manager, ordered the instrument online, and scheduled the first lesson. The manager promised to call when the instrument arrived, but again, no follow-up. When I called, another associate informed me the instrument was there, but the instructor had pushed the lesson by a week without notifying us. When I arrived to pick up the instrument, the staff seemed completely disinterested. No one provided guidance or assistance beyond just handing it over. Overall, the lack of communication, customer service, and general interest in helping new clients--especially kids excited to learn music--was disappointing. I ended up finding another instructor elsewhere. This place clearly does not value its customers or take pride in bringing up the next generation of musicians. Would not recommend.

I love doing karaoke with my grandma and was in choir for five years. I've gotten to learn some techniques over the years, but not the right techniques that would build my natural sound. I've always wanted to improve my singing with professional help, but I always felt scared and insecure of reaching my dream. Until years later I felt ready to conquer that and my grandmother recommended me Marquita. I found Marquita's website and submitted a request for private lessons, and Marquita responded within 24 hours! We talked on the phone about the goals I want for myself and we set a date and time to start. From the first day, Marquita was very communicative and clear as far as where to park and explained her terms and conditions for payment and cancellations (which seemed fair and reasonable to me). Her home is spacious and comfortable. She has some cute cats that sometimes likes to come out and say hi, but for the most part they stay upstairs and hidden. From Marquita's private lessons, she has helped me learned the right techniques for my sound in ways that are comfortable for me, and in ways that challenge myself in the best way. She gave me a file she made of different vocal warm ups that really do help prepare my voice. From her teachings, I've been able to push my voice in ways I didn't know I could even reach to. Also from her knowledge, I've been able to even understand the scientific perspective when singing as well. Even on days when I have stage fright, been hard on myself, or when other problems have gotten in the way, Marquita has been very kind, patient, understanding, and supportive. I also do attend the performance practice with her other students twice a month. The performance practice really helps me feel comfortable with performing, receiving feedback, and having fun with the other students. At first I was nervous to join because of my stage fright, but through the practice and being in a safe environment, it has really helped me conquer it. We give each other feedback and support that makes it easier to perform in front of each other over time. She's been a great teacher, mentor, and friend through this experience, and I'm really grateful for her guidance.
