I've known about this place as loads of friends have recommended it for lunch. Finally made a visit…read moreto it. First time and it was quite nice. It's located along the boardwalk at the beginning of the pier. Literally right at the base of it. Of course with the patio seating, that's the best seat in town. You have the view of the boardwalk and it perfect for people watching. When we stopped in, there was a security guard checking for ID. I guess even with a restaurant they carded people and stamped their hand for alcohol. Patio was open seating with wooden tables and umbrellas. There was two bar on the patio. Majority of the seating were outdoor. Later found out that there's a nice beer garden out back where the restroom was but it wasn't open. Staff were all friendly which is nice. It's a casual beachside cafe. Menu had your usual food, easy eats. Started off with a nice cold one which we were surprised when they brought it out. It was massive. Food, your usual beachside menu. The Philly cheesesteak, which everything as à la carte. It was decent, nothing major but good. Also an order of the chili cheese fries, fish and chips and a classic hot dog with trimming on the side. Food was decent for a beachside cafe. It's nothing fancy but a fun casual dining experience. Vibe and ambiance was pretty mellow and chill. When we were there it seemed more like holiday makers versus the locals. We had a nice experience for our first time and the service was great. Staff were all friendly and sweet. Service animal are allowed in.

Ordered margarita and pale ale. I liked the beer. It paired well with the double cheese The Big Deans with grilled onions. We also ordered fish chips which we also liked the fries both super crispy and a side of cole slaw. Would come back to this place for a repeat order. Some band was playing live music and it helped enhance the vibe at this oceanfront restaurant. Oh we had a nice outside table with umbrella shade.

Our friend Sam lives across the street, here in Santa Monica and we are Venice Peeps. I've been to…read moreShutters on the beach for years prior and never ventured Into the Coast Beach Cafe! Was a delight and perfectly situated beachside, with an outdoor patio 2 steps from the sand and the ocean breeze. The service here was absolute Perfection! Luis was amicable, timely, and thoughtful. He prepared our dishes and split them before we even asked. And on a hot summers day, I take my iced teas everywhere. Gotta stay hydrated! And he prepared mine to-go when we wrapped up our Linner. And headed out to see some Topanga Cyn real estate, a few miles away. My hubby loved his Hibiscus mezcal and of course my iced tea, hehe. We ordered Cesar salad and burrata. Nothing heavy, we just finished swimming laps and hubby went for a run. This meal was exactly what we headed. And of course, the hubby adores a Dodger game. So the game on TV was the icing on top. If you're searching for a luxurious, coastal cafe, with wonderful service, a light meal, and a view after a summer workout. This is IT. Also, there is a dress code: wear a coverup over swimsuit and don't arrive barefoot from the beach. :) We shall be back, had a great time guys and the nautical ambiance is gorgeous!

Coast is located on the lower floor and eye level with the beaches pedestrian walkway. We were able to catch the sunset, which was absolutely gorgeous and made me feel like I was on vacation myself. I didn't get a chance to take a picture of the wagyu burger before my friend got into it because she was extremely hungry, but the fries were well done. I got the Chilean sea bass, and that was okay. The fish itself had a good texture and good flavor but just pairing with a few broccolinis and jasmine rice made it a little bland for me. We got the chocolate daisy cake, which was $20 for a slice. It was decent but I wasn't blown away by it, but it was my friend's favorite and she loved it. Overall, this is a cute place to grab a drink and some bites when in SM. The service was great! Our server took care of us because my friend has some specific requests for napkins. Haha

Plus it's alway nice to pop in to see friends and of course a meet up spot. This past weekend, the weather was perfect in Santa Monica. It was quite nice to have a table along the patio and perfect for people watching. We were meeting up a friend for a catch up and a meal to end the day with. The staffs are alway so friendly and welcoming each and every time we're here. If you haven't been, it's broken down to a few different areas but all connected. There's the British shop on one comer. If you continue on, you have the restaurant which has two different bars. On the left, that's more of a mellow smaller bar but does get fun. The main bar is on the other end of the building. That's where you get the full bar experience with darts and where all the games are shown. It does get quite busy whenever there's a game on so be advised. There's also an outdoor seating area as well. Then you have the main dining area right when you walk in. There's two main seating area which are both nice. One seems more like the dining room while the other is more of a casual dining area. Regardless, the food will always be the same. As it was Sunday, the roast is alway a good choice. Nothing elaborate but your classic roast. There was beef or lamb available with roasted potatoes, Yorkshire pudding served with your mixed veggies of cheesy carrots, peas, broccoli and cauliflower with gravy. Vegetarian options also available. Of course you cannot come here and not get fries (chips). Thick cut of goodness. Besides that, there's loads of traditional dishes available. I've had loads and they're all very good. Even if you just pop in for a pint, the place is quite fun. Bar area is fun and pretty lively. The place is quite casual which is nice for a stroll in. Can't leave out afternoon tea which is also offered. A fun time is alway had here each visit. Everyone is so friendly and sweet.
