Mattress less than 5 years old. Each year the odor is stronger than the year before. Must not be natural latex but the synthetic kind. I feel nauseous when I smell it. Permeates my sheets and mattress pad. I will replace with another brand soon. Just cannot bear the odor any longer! read more

It might seem hard to praise a mattress company. We infrequently purchase a new mattress and the big mattress companies that advertise on TV are just the pits. You cannot sleep on advertising, but you certainly pay for it. I have no idea if Jamestown Mattress advertises. I have seen their store On West Henrietta Blvd. for years. I mean, I have driven by it. I finally had to buy a mattress and I decided they would be my first stop. They were my last stop as well. They manufacture and sell top quality mattresses to satisfy anyone's needs and budget. They are significantly less expensive than the TV advertised brands and stores. They have several stores in Western New York. They make your mattress to order and have free delivery and removal of your old mattress set. It is a first-rate place. read more

I found shopping for a mattress very confusing. Every store you go to has a different selection. The national brand names seem to mean nothing because the models change from store to store. As a result I took to the Internet and found a site call mattressunderground.com which gives very good information on what to look for and also has a nice blog where people share their buying experiences. This brought me to Jamestown Mattress Company. These guys are a family owned manufacturer of mattresses. The buyers on mattressunderground.com highly recommended them and I went to their Henrietta location. Jason, the manager, was highly knowledgeable and very helpful. He explained the various materials used, reasons why to chose one or the other mattress, as well as pros and cons to some models. In the end I purchased their Dynasty Plush mattress for, what I consider, a fair price. The mattress was delivered on time a week later. The sleeping experience is - just WOW. The mattress is everything I was looking for and more. I am so much more rested than before. We needed 2 mattresses for a bunk bed that was a non-standard size. After much fretting and online searching we decided to have them custom made. At Jamestown, every part of the process was a pleasure. We were greeted by J.W. who understood what we wanted and suggested the type of foam and covering we needed. There was no pressure. He promised a delivery date about a week away and delivered exactly on time. The mattresses look great and fit into the bunk beds perfectly. Thank you J.W. for making our day. I had a wonderful experience purchasing a mattress and box spring from Jamestown MattresS. I have bought mattresses at various stores throughout the years and did never felt that my questions/concern were addressed. I was usually disappointed with the comfort and quality for what I considered a significant price. That was not an issue with Jamestown Mattress. Jason, the manager, addressed and answered all my issues and concerns. He provided me with information regarding materials and construction and encouraged me to try out various mattresses while making my choice. I never felt pressured in anyway throughout the whole process. The price was amazing taking into consideration they make your mattress to order. I had free delivery when promised (1 week from purchase). Set up and removal was also free. Best experience ever! The new mattress did not disappoint and I can say that it was more than I hoped for! This is an update: @Jamestown Mattress @Jim Pullan First I will respond in order to each of the claims in your reply, which I might add is the only communication we have ever had directly with you and only came after public shaming on social media. "Our store manager has made many trips to your home." Our response: This is entirely accurate. However, I am going to speculate this is a result of taking a bandaid approach to addressing a problem, an approach which is driven by @Jamestown Mattress leadership (Jim & Steve Pullan). I state bandaid approach for in summary I believe @Jamestown Mattress attempted to take the least costly route to resolve the problem. I will further substantiate my position below. "In each case after review of your mattress he has told us that there was no warranty issue. The "sags" you mention are minimal body impressions. Normal mattress wear." Our response: This is odd as that is not what your store manager said to us. "Over these numerous trips to your home we replaced the top quilted panel and replaced several interior layers of latex." Our response: The top quilted panel or pillow top was the first part of the mattress replaced following our very first complaint. I asked your store manager why the pillow top was being replaced as it clearly is not structural and we had sag. It was explained to us that 'this is what they want to try to first.' From my layman's perspective I never understood why the pillow top was replaced and thus questioned doing so before the work was even performed. Our original pillow top was immaculate and did not appear to have any issue. A perfect example of throwing good money after bad. When the replacement of the pillow top did not resolve our issue, then the mattress was picked up by @Jamestown Mattress and taken back to the factory. When it was returned about two weeks later the new pillow top had dirt smudges on it! We were later told the two layers of latex foam just underneath the pillow top were replaced. These new layers of latex foam seemed at the time to address our problem. Fast forward several months and the discomfort returned. I reached out to your store manager and he stopped and made a visual inspection of the mattress. He did not bring a straight edge or any other means by which to measure the sag and or deflection of the mattress when placed under load. It is at this point he said there was nothing further he could do. It is at this time I began researching latex foam mattresses and discovered that each layer of foam served a different purpose. I then on my own unzipped the pillow top and swapped the two layer of foam underneath. This seemed to help reduce the sag to an acceptable level. In the months to follow the sag in the mattress returned, but at the same time our family was dealing with a significant health issue and addressing this matter with @Jamestown Mattress took the back burner. Fast forward to October 11, 2020 I wrote a letter to @Jamestown Mattress CEO James Pullan, Sr. I followed up the letter with a call to the main office for Jamestown Mattress on October 20, 2020. I was informed that Jim Sr seldom comes into the office, but that they would look for the letter and get it to you, @Jim Pullan. While I was later told that letter was never received, I find it coincidental that your store manager after months earlier telling me there was nothing more he could do phoned me on October 21, 2020. When your store manager phoned on the 21st he simply asked what was going on, nothing more. I brought him up to speed, that the sag was so bad that one of us had to sleep in the center of the bed and the other on the very edge of the bed. That regardless of position we felt like we were trying to avoid rolling into the sag on both sides, but that one side on the mattress the sag was far worse that the other. He said he would have a call with Steve Pullan who he indicated runs the manufacturing of the mattresses. On October 22, 2020 your store manager phoned back that he spoke with Steve Pullan and that you @Jim Pullan, Steve Pullan and your store manager were going to have a conference call to discuss the mattress on October 23, 2020 and he would call me afterwards. On October 23, 2020 your store manager phoned me following your conference call with him to inform me that it was decided @Jamestown Mattress would replace one of the layers of foam just under the pillow top! I questioned this as those two layers of latex foam under the pillow top were relatively new. It made no sense that a new layer of foam had already failed and that I suspected the core of the mattress was the root cause of the sags which started to develop in 2018! Your store manager then shared with me that he informed both you and Steve Pullan that he felt the mattress should be replaced. Needless to say your explanation is inaccurate accounting of the facts 11/18/2020: The mattress went to the dump today! read more

For the past 2 weeks I have been shopping for a new mattress. All of the local businesses have left me questioning the sincerity of the salesman. This past weekend after another unsuccessful outing I decided to sit down and do some research. That's when I discovered an information website/mattress forum called www.mattressunderground.com. This is a treasure trove of amazing information as to what you should look for in the material and craftsmanship of a mattress. If you're shopping for a mattress spend some time on the site and learn. All the information I learned on that website led me to Jamestown Mattress. They make their own mattresses with material that is BETTER quality than that which is put in many of the name brands. Their costs are LOWER since there is no middle man trying to get a cut. The mattress I just bought was 50% the cost of a comparable name brand mattress in the area. Plus, many of their mattresses can be customized to fit your individual needs. I cannot say enough. Jason the salesman was able to answer all of my questions in a polite and professional manner. I never felt pressured during the process at all. I just bought my first mattress from Jamestown and it won't be the last. The buying process was very low pressure and helpful. We walked in and Jason in the Henrietta store helped us pick out the perfect mattress for our son. The delivery guys were very professional and nice and came in, removed our old mattress and took it away with them. They set up the new mattress licky split. I'm very impressed. It is so rare these days to have a truly spectacular customer service experience, but that is exactly what happened for us with Jamestown Mattress. My husband and I had been searching forever to find the perfect mattress and were having a difficult time finding anything that worked for us. We stayed over at my in-laws house and, to our surprise, had the best sleep of our lives! We looked far and wide for the mattress that his parents owned, but it had been discontinued years ago. We called up the manufacturer, Jamestown Mattress, and were amazed to find out that they would custom make a mattress to the specifications of their discontinued mattress! And even though we live in Austin, TX they arranged to have it shipped to our door. We both would have expected such service to have cost a fortune, but we were amazed to find out that this mattress was THOUSANDS of dollars less than the Tempurpedic mattress we tried and hated. Overall, a rare and wonderful customer service experience. We are extremely pleased. read more

I bought king size mattress and spring boxes from the Jamestown Mattress Co, couple month later it started making creaking noise. Called the company they replaced the boxes it turned out to be the same story. I looked inside the boxes and the planks are thin, cheap material with cardboard on top. Latex mattress is too heavy for the boxes and I weigh only 210 lb. I have paid almost $2000 for it and they have cardboard inside. I called and called them and no response. I regret buying from Jamestown Mattress these guys have product that is poorly designed and they do not stand behind their product. read more

Going to order from this company tomorrow, I spoke with the owner 3 different times with questions, he {Jim] was very pleasant and patient. He sent me samples of the latex I was after as they have a new category [ on their web site] where you can customize your own mattress. What a great deal. You can have as soft or firm as you like, and he assured me if I wasn't happy with a layer [ too soft or firm] they would replace it. I'm leaning towards the 3 [3"] layered one. I'll be back with an update after I test drive it. Not sure why the bad reviews, this guy was very accomodating. read more
