Jane is the best! We had hired her to shoot family photos previously so I knew right away when it came time to tie the knot that she would be the girl for the job. Jane came recommended to us from a friend that went to college with Jane. We first met Jane when we were in the process of interviewing a couple of photographers. From the second we sat down with her, she made us feel comfortable. Neither my husband or I had professional pictures taken since we were in elementary school. We are not picture people either, so we were nervous about having our engagement pictures and wedding pictures taken. She listened to our vision that we wanted for our wedding and engagement pictures and had so many ideas to contribute in that first meeting. When we left, we knew that we wanted to hire Jane. As the date came close for us to get our engagement pictures taken, she set-up a Pinterest board to go over ideas for pictures that she thought we would want based on our first conversation. Everything she posted, was exactly what we wanted. The day of our engagement picture came, and she did everything that she could to make us feel comfortable and laugh to ensure that she got natural photos of us. As we explored Ballard, she would find these interesting backdrops that came out amazing when we got our pictures. She also knew that it was important for us to get pictures taken in our Seahawks jerseys, and even though the day was getting late, she was able to get some amazing pictures with downtown Seattle in the background. Before our wedding day, Jane was in constant communication with us and neatly laid out the timeline so we could fit everything we wanted in on our wedding day. She did everything on that day to make sure our wedding pictures came out exactly like we wanted. Our day was running late, and she didn't even hesitate when we asked her to stay for TWO extra hours. Before I started to write this review, I read all of her other reviews to see what others have thought of Jane. And I have to say that I'm not the least bit surprised that there are ZERO negative reviews. We were referred to Jane by another professional photographer that I know (he doesn't do wedding photos), as she was the one who did his wedding. I met Jane in College and have always admired her beautiful photography. Using Jane as my wedding photographer was always in the back of my mind throughout these years, so once I got engaged, I knew I needed to connect with Jane again. I really like how easy she is to work with. I'm really bad at taking staged photos and so is my husband. We pinned some shots so she could get a feel for the style we were into for our photos, and she was able to translate them for us. I couldn't be more thankful for the portraits Jane took of my Family. At the time, we had no idea that they would be the last pictures we would ever have with my Dad, he passed away just a few months later. I am so incredibly thankful we hired Jane to capture our wedding. I've followed her for years and always loved her work. When we started planning for our wedding, the first decision that we wanted to finalize was who would capture our special day. From day one my husband was ADAMENT about having Jane photograph. He has known Jane for over 15 years and could not remember a time that she didn't have a camera. In going with Jane, not only did we get one of the best photographers in the Seattle area, but we also got a wedding planner, friend and great memories. She made our engagement photos fun and less awkward by taking us to multiple locations in Bellingham that we were familiar with, spending the whole day together. We did not request, and while it was unofficial, Jane took on the responsibility of the schedule, the day and had amazing insights into the wedding world. I hired Jane to take our Engagement and Wedding photos. We chose her based off of recommendations from her previous clients and couldn't be happier about it! She was so professional yet warm, her personality really puts you at ease during a time when you're a little nervous and stressed and allows for your personality and emotions to shine through on film (or digital card, whatever). Her assistant, Sang, was also amazing, very talented and funny. It was great having two photographers at both shoots, so different angles were covered and they were able to bounce ideas off of each other and capture some really amazing shots. Both our engagement and wedding photos turned out AMAZING. I don't have enough picture frames or wall space to display all of the ones that I want to, it's making for some tough choices!
