    banchan
    Ester L.

To preface, I'm from the bay so it's not surprising this didn't make my standards. Totally empty on Friday at 8 pm. Inside is very normal, spacious, well lit, owners hang out at the back in-view. Seafood pancake Advertised in photos as crispy, less flour, and a lot of shrimp, the actual pancake was the complete opposite and highly disappointing. Seafood tofu soup Like two pcs small shrimp and a few mussels. Too salty in my opinion, and for the price it was too small. Galbi Overpriced, too salty, and no char flavor. Lots of garlic flavor and too much fat on the cut. Bibimbap I got the stone pot and there wasn't even enough oil to make the rice crispy. There wasn't any flavor except the sauce, and everything was just super dry. I liked the ingredients but they weren't seasoned separately or anything. Also, my egg was crazy overcooked. Banchan was very meager but they refill. Lastly, we ordered a beef noodle dumpling to-go and they forgot the noodles. Overall disappointed with every dish especially after seeing good reviews and misleading photos.

Had another enjoyable lunch here. I had my usual (Yukgaejang). Nothing stood out, it seemed to be more watery (not much substance, not that much flavor) than I remember. We did get one fewer banchan dish than last time, but nine is still more than you get at some places. The banchan serving sizes seemed a bit small for four, but we were asked if we wanted anything more, so I'm sure we could've had refills if we'd wanted. My husband had the veg Dolsot Bibimbap. He enjoyed it (it came with a bottle of Gochujang sauce, so he could add as much or little as he wanted). He did miss the Nurungji a bit (oddly, there was none). But he said it was good enough that he would order it again. Service was good; friendly, and efficient. Our food came less than 10 minutes after ordering. 3.5*, rounded up to 4* for the nice service.

Had a day trip to Sacramento and stopped here for dinner. It was easy to get a table for 8, and we were given a very friendly welcome by the staff. We ordered a lot of food and, in general, everything was great. I'd even say it's better than some of the popular Korean spots in San Francisco or San Jose! Highlights: * Seafood Pancake: Excellent and perfectly crispy. * LA Galbi: Also very good--it's served over an iron hot plate, and the beef is so juicy and tender. * Galbi with Stone Pot: A total must-order. The beef was so juicy, tender, and the portion size was very generous. * Kimchi Fried Rice: Also very good. The pricing is definitely reasonable for the quality and amount of food you get. This place is a hidden gem in Sacramento--we will definitely be back!"

I came here for thr raw marinated crabs special....oh my gosh! You must try it. Super fresh and yummy! Banchan was quite delicious, so many options. I also ordered the galbijjim and bossam. Galbijjim was on point! Big portion and flavorful l. Bossam was alright. Service was awesome! They checked on me throughout the evening, refilled my drink and banchan, and addressed my questions.

The food is great and the service is great, get your Korean food craving here. The menu is pretty easy to look through as it has descriptions and pictures of the menu items, plus it's only 2 pages. Be on the lookout for any specials too, cause they did look pretty good. The fried chicken was really good, and the beef tofu soup might be the best I have had. You can never go wrong with the L.A. Galbi, or beef short ribs. And tie it all together with the corn cheese. What other restaurant can you get such good variety, and at such good quality too. The restaurant is clean, and the waitress was friendly. The food comes out quickly and everything was hot so don't burn yourself! But don't just listen to me, come Try it out yourself. I for sure will be back.

My husband and I wanted to try somewhere we have never been before. The place wasn't too busy. It looked clean. We ordered Galbi tang, Galbi ribs, and some fried chicken. Everything tasted pretty good. The Galbi tang and ribs had good flavor. The beef in the soup was very tender and there was a good number of pieces of beef in the soup. The fried chicken was ok; some parts were dry. I did notice the chicken had little slits in them. I'm assuming they did that so the chicken would cook faster, maybe. Anyways, some of the chicken was dry. The banchan, side dishes were ok. Some of the dishes were not as fresh as they should be. The bean sprouts looked a little old and looked slimmie. The japchae did not have much flavor. The salad with the mayonnaise did not look fresh either. The server was nice and she was good. Overall, they were ok. I would think about coming again. I would just order what was good and stay away what wasn't. Trial and error?

If you're looking for solid Korean food in Sac, Jang Su is the place to go! This small mom and pop restaurant by Bradshaw Rd is a gem. I came during dinner time & it wasn't too busy, so I got seated right away. They had a great variety of banchan kimchi, pickled radish, cucumber, mac & potato salad, glass noodles & fish cake. I love when a Korean restaurant serves good banchan, and theirs didn't disappoint. I ordered the dolsot bibimbap, which comes in a hot stone pot. My favorite part is always the crispy rice at the bottom. The veggies were fresh, well-seasoned, & everything came together so perfectly. Service was super friendly & quick, the aunty who served us gave tips on how much sauce to add & was really attentive. Great experience overall, and will definitely come back to try their other items!

I came here after work on a date with my fiance and we have grown to really love Korean food and I have been craving Galbi jjim something fierce. The service here is quick and super friendly, we loved everything in the banchan and got refills on kimchi and japchae to our hearts content. The prices to portions is totally worth it and the food was DIVINE, I cannot wait to come back. Delicious tastes, perfect portions, great place to come on a date or with a group

Cute little place with a variety of Korean dishes. The server was very nice and attentive. My daughter tried the raw marinated shrimp and the flavor was very good. Can't go wrong with the bibimbap and the stir fried squid with veggies was good too. I was a little disappointed with the bossam bc the pork belly was dry and chewy but I like how they have a small size and big size. Most places only have one large size.

Always looking for a new Korean place to try. We went for dinner. It is in a strip a mall. When we entered there was only one other couple in the place. The place was a good size. Nice and clean looking to. We were greeted and seated right away. The menu had pictures and was big and two sided. The waitress brought us water right away as we looked over the menu. We ordered the Galbitang, which was beef short rib soup. It was really good. It had a lot of stuff in it and the beef was yummy. We had the LA Galbi and it had large pieces of meat. Very good quality and i liked it. We tried their fried chicken. It had a different batter then we were used to. But it was a bit dry. Just ok. I was really disappointed in their banchan, the side dishes you get before your meal. They didn't seem fresh. Kind of tasted bad, not impressed by the flavor of most of them. This is kind of important when we eat Korean. Oh well. At least we tried the place. Maybe we will come back to try their fish.

We came here kind of late, and this seemed to be the only Korean restaurant still open, so we decided to give it a try. Glad we did! The place is spacious with a casual vibe, and the staff were attentive and friendly. Honestly, we didn't have high expectations going in, but everything turned out to be better than expected. I especially loved the variety of mini Korean side dishes they served . We ordered the tofu soup, short ribs, and fried chicken. The tofu soup was a standout - flavorful without being overly salty, though I do wish there was more broth. The BBQ short ribs were delicious and well-seasoned. The only letdown was the fried chicken, which didn't quite hit the mark for us. Overall, a great spot if you're in the area and craving Korean food.

When we arrived on a Saturday evening around 5:30PM, the restaurant was fairly empty so we were seated immediately. The lady was nice, the tables are roomy and there is even a hot plate in the center for shared stew. We ordered and the food came by quickly. Side dishes were included and yummy! I got the bibimbap with beef in a stone pot. I'd rate it a 3.5/5. It was $19, which is a bit steep and the bibimbap was a bit bland. I had to add more bibimbap sauce that usual, then added some kimchi radish, kimchi cabbage and a few other sides to help add flavor. It was a decent portion size, so I took the rest to go and ate it as a midnight snack. The lady was super nice and brought us watermelon too! Overall, the experience was great. Friendly people, great customer service. Just on the pricey side and a little bland.

I thought the food was just okay. The side dishes were not ones I'm used to seeing and although I tried all the ones I can eat, I wasn't fascinated by any of them. The place, however, was very nice and clean. The service was superb!

They have a variety of different fusion flavors that all tie to Korean cuisine. A must get is for sure their Booty Booldak; other than the fun name lol, it's served with crispy taters and cheese melted on top. I also tried their Kimchi Karbonara for the first time! It was good, but I wished there were more noodles, because we were left with a lot of bacon bits in the end. Our server, Sierra, was so sweet! She was welcoming and friendly, and we even had great conversations with her. She was also quick at serving us and getting what we needed.

Apparently that night was their 3 (?) year anniversary, so not sure if this is always the case but they did have a whole live DJ on the main floor. When we arrived there were a couple other tables dining. There isn't much seating inside, and most of the tables ended up being blocked off for bottle service lol Me and my girl were there to eat so we ordered as many dishes as our tiny table could handle! Kimchi Carbonara - TBH this tasted like spaghetti... with some kimchi and bacon. It wasn't bad, but it tasted exactly the way I described it. They should just take the carbonara out of the dish's name completely. I wouldn't order it again, just cause the bacon flavor was really smokey and strong. Spicy wings - These were actually really good! Served with pickled jalapenos, pickled radish, and a cabbage salad! Just make sure you get some rice on the side. The wing sauce was spicy! Not overly, but just enough. It was sweet but not too sweet. I would recommend! Mandu- Decent. Not spectacular, but a good side to round out your meal. The dipping sauce was yummy, a nice sweet soy. Pink Venom - The flavor was so good. Tasted like a pink starburst. If you like sweet drinks, this one is it! Didn't taste the alcohol at all though. Parking sucks so bad, we had to park a couple blocks away and cross some train tracks but we made it! The waiters were so nice and checked up on us even with the whole party going on. The bouncers though didn't pass the vibe check and I didn't really like that we got IDed so many times. We're in our mid 30s lol.. be frr. The whole vibe is fun, they have a full bar and apparently in the back room, it's another bar/lounge scene. It wasn't that type of night for me, but I would come back to eat and hang out if I was in the area. Keep in mind though, the crowd is early 20s!

There were also about 12 different banchan, so something for everyone's tastes. The kalbi came out sizzling and was well seasoned. i enjoyed my tofu soup (medium spicy!) a lot, and the waitress was kind enough to crack the egg in for me. If I had to nitpick, the beef in my soup was a bit tough, but the flavor was excellent overall. Service was great! They even chill the little glasses for makgeolli for you. First of all, the food served is exactly like the photos. I got the short rib bun burger and bulgogi gyoza. The burger (omg) had a balance of sweet and salty but also a little spicy. Halfway through I noticed something yellow, it was a pineapple! Usually I have mixed feelings about pineapple with foods like pizza. But this complimented so well. Now, the gyoza. Crispy and you can't go wrong with bulgogi. What I was surprised with was inside I think it was japchae! If you like Korean food like me, I was so excited to see this twist. And yes it was yummy. I seem to get lucky most times and get to meet the owners. That day I met them and they're so nice! I can tell they put a lot of thought into the menu, ingredients, decor, etc. The owners are Japanese and Korean. Hence KoJa! Even this detail was really impressive. I ended up going back because the owner told me that his wife (also owner) created Yang Nyum and it was really good and popular. So I got Yang Nyum, kamikaze fries, and taro boba. The portions were great. But most of all, he was right about Yang Nyum, delicious! I didn't realize the kamikaze fries had beef, so yummy but I definitely overate that day, lol. One other thing I really liked was you could order at the register or kiosk. This is a great way to avoid lines. Once you order they have a screen that shows your ETA (why do other restaurants not have this?). I did go during the day though. So, I can only imagine how amazing it looks at night. Especially after dancing or bar hopping, the food here would pair well. Koja also sells alcohol too though and apparently downstairs is where the dancing is at. Will I go here again, absolutely.

Ttobongee (Manna Bunsik) has officially closed as of May 25th, 2025…read more I was a huge fan of their kimchi spam fried rice, bulgogi beef set, and bulgogi kimbap. I'd also tried their yang nyum fried chicken, Korean corn dog, dduk bok gi, tofu soup, banana milk and Soon Hari soju. The bone broth soup was so good, there were a few times when I just got a large/double order of that to go. Service was always friendly and great, and I heard that the owners are moving out of state to be closer to family due to illness. Sad to see them go. Wonder what will take its place, until then Natomas only really has the chain Bonchon left for Korean food.

I'm really sad to find out they are closing in two weeks! FYI they're called Manna Bunsik, not…read moreTtobongee. I don't know why I waited so long to come here. The food is very tasty and the portions are nice. Service was very friendly too. They were so busy today they ran out of beef bulgogi but offered us a generous alternative as an apology. We finished very full and had lots of leftovers. KFC boneless: crunchy with nice strong sauces. Too salty for our palates but very tasty. Banchan: large scoops were given, our favorite was the broccoli, beef bone broth and japchae. Chicken bulgogi set and tofu soup set: both were fabulous. Chicken had a nice char, soup had large pieces of tofu. Dumpling soup: the pork mandu were very yummy. It's a large portion soup. I'm gonna try to come here a few more times before they close. I think the prices are comparable to other Korean restaurants in the Sacramento area, maybe a little cheaper.

There is a designated parking lot across the street, so it's easy to grab a spot and walk over. Just be careful because the parking spots in the lot aren't well marked and it's easiest to just park neatly next to other cars. We like to sit at the bar if there's just two of us, and will grab a table when we have friends. If you want to make sure you have a table, you can make a reservation ahead of time, but we usually don't need to wait too long. Our favorites are the brussel sprouts, karaage chicken, and their nigiri. We also really enjoy the sukiyaki, it's really flavorful and perfect for cooler or rainy weather. We still need to come by for brunch, but we've heard good things. The team here is always friendly, and we've been in enough that some of them recognize us now.

I will preface this by saying I should come back and judge based off their main menu offerings,…read morehowever they offer a separate brunch menu and that is what I had for my visit at fuji sac. We orderd the loco moco and breakfast fried rice with scrambled eggs. The eggs were deliciously scrambled. The fried rice was ok. The big concern was my burger patty was really burnt. The consistency and flavor of the gravy was interesting. We were the first visitors of the day so I'd say while it eventually filled up, not sure the reason behind burned food. Also, with a full bar, bloody marys were not available. Really unfortunate for brunches. However, I understand this is mainly a sushi joint? So maybe I will need to come back for sushi sometime.

Yum! Was unsure about lunch one day so the husband brought home Kindred Seoul. He swore by them…read more(he's a state worker nearby the restaurant and has had them many times before). I ordered the beef cupbop and it hit the spot! All the flavors I could've asked for: sweet, salty, umami goodness. The rice was perfectly fluffy, the japchae nicely cooked, and the beef was so tasty. Great portion and was a nice, warm lunch on a cold day. If you're a state worker and haven't tried them yet, you need to! Delicious Korean food that's fresh and filling!

Located in the Allenby Building State building in Downtown Sacramento. They have a vast eating area…read morethat you can bring your own lunch if you choose, you don't have to order from Kindred Seoul to eat in the building. I've only eaten here once, but it appeared that was plenty of seating for many more people. When we walk by it's never been packed. Parking is mostly street parking with some parking in local garages. They have 2 very clean unisex bathrooms to the right of the counter. You order at the counter and then they call your number. We arrived a few minutes after Noon. There was only 1 person in-front of us and 1 person behind us so we thought it would be a quick lunch. As it turns out several people went through the line before us and the wait was around 15 minutes. Kind of an excessive wait for a counter lunch. There was one girl holding her baby taking the orders and one girl filling the orders. She was going as fast as she could, but it still took awhile. It got really backed up. I ordered the BBQ Beef Cupbop. I didn't know what to expect. As it turns out the bottom layer is white rice, next is a layer of glass noodles, then comes the can corned, a mixture of cabbage, and topped with the BBQ Beef. It was very tasty. A little on the spicy side, which made it just more flavorful. It wasn't mouth watering or eye tearing hot. It just had a little kick. The consistency of the meat reminded me of ground beef. It was very finely chopped strips. Overall it was really good. Very filling for the amount you get. It's more than we usually have for lunch. My husband had the chicken soy ginger. I had some and it was really good, but fried, so probably not as healthy as the BBQ Beef. It doesn't appear that they cook to order any food here, but they do scoop to order. From what I could see they sell a variety of Cupbop flavors, including a vegetarian option. They also sell sandwiches, salads, and a burrito. They have an ice water dispenser at the end of the counter with water cups. The vibe was interesting. You are surrounded by state worker from all different agencies all minding their own business. Many groups of 2-6 were eating together. There were less singles than groups.
