I sampled Nox Barbecue at the Asian Pacific CultureFest this year and honestly thought the food was flawless. They are a bit pricey, which was what I thought was the reason for their current 4 star rating, but all their "not currently recommended" reviews are 5 stars, so maybe check those out too. Their smoked brisket is my absolute favorite but the sisig and chicken and delicious too. Everything is incredibly tender and well flavored. Even their sides are spot on delicious. The rice and slaw are really well done. I would definitely consider them to cater an event for me in the future and will be stopping by any time I see them at pop-ups, you should too.

Nox chafing dishes. Long came and set up everything and made it easy peezy! Delicious and easy. I couldn't ask for more.

Nox Barbecue is a must do, not only for catering your next event, but for just having a family gathering for no reason at all. We've used Nox for a graduation party and for a baby shower and every time people go nuts. I can't explain it, other than I've never had better chicken or brisket in my life. And everything else is amazing too. I've had people say "I'm not a rice person", then they try his garlic rice and are like OMG, this is delicious. I can't recommend this location enough. Long, the owner is extremely nice and accommodating too. Came and set up our entire buffet line for us and came back and cleaned up. It was like we never even had a party. Truly amazing. Once you have it, you'll be hooked.

As a bbq enthusiast, this place is on point! They've been on the radar and I've finally had a chance to try them at the Filipino festival in Elk Grove over the weekend. Everything works perfect each other, well done Long!

Their food is amazing. Every time I see they are doing a pop up at my local brewery I go.

The location was a bit odd, as there were barely any other businesses nearby. There is street parking that you can pay for. It's a fairly small restaurant. We were were seated pretty quickly. Service was very friendly. I would say that portions were pretty reasonable. Things we ordered: -Pineapple fried rice: Very fragrant with the char and flavorful. Seasoned very well. We opted for mild spice on this. I would order this again. -Chicken pad thai: Done very well! Some places the pad thai is too sweet, but this one was very balanced and had a good tamarind flavor. Medium spicy was a bit on the spicy side, but perfect for me! Would order this again. -Duck larb: Unique, but I couldn't tell it was duck. My partner enjoyed this more than I did. The portion for the larb was on the smaller side and it came with some lettuce, radish, carrots, cucumbers. -Mee kati ground pork: A very unique dish that not many Thai restaurants seem to have, in which it came with noodles, and a variety of toppings like beans sprouts, lettuce, green beans, peanuts, and cilantro. It came with a fermented curry gravy, and it delicious! I would totally order this again. -Green Thai tea: Quite fragrant and not too full on half and half like some other places have it. It's also not as sweet as another local Thai restaurant. I would actually order this again. -Classic Thai tea: Strong Thai tea flavor, also not too sweet. Overall, Hiso was a great Thai/Lao restaurant and I would totally come back and recommend this place!

The red curry was really good imo but my husband said it could have been thicker and more flavorful. The pad thai was decently spicy for a medium rating. Very good flavor and I would say one of the better pad thais you can get in Sacramento. Not overly saucy like in some places. We also ordered the Tum Luang Pra Bang, green papaya salad with fermented fish sauce. I will say, the execution and the quality of ingredients were superb, I personally couldn't get past the flavor, but my mom, a stronger SEA woman, loved it! The staff was very nice and polite. The ambiance was very cute, gave cafe/small restaurant vibes. I have been in the area for awhile and this place has been a revolving door of restaurants. I hope this one sticks!

I came in on a Monday around 11:40 am, was seated right away since I was the first customer, and my food came out in less than 10 minutes. The ambiance was simple with some greenery. The waitress was tentative and so kind. I believe her and the nice gentleman are the owners, I could be wrong. I ordered the sushi tacos - unagi, ebi, and sake. It was a major flavor explosion in my mouth and I can't wait to go back!! Thanks to TikTok, I had to try this. Trust me, you won't be disappointed!! Oh, I took the unagi to-go because I was so full but ai suggest you eat it right away because the shell will get soft. I still downed it though, so yummy!!

Limited parking space in the front, but there's some more spaces in the back. Friendly service. My friend got the strawberry matcha and it looked really good. We tried the: Sake (salmon) sushi taco, 7.5/10 Katsu Don, 9/10 Gyudon, 7/10 Flavors of the food were good and the house made chili oil was a nice touch as well. The gyudon was a bit on the dry and chewy side, but other than that, still enjoyed my visit.

I also always take friends and family visiting here and it never disappoints. The yelp wait is pretty accurate, so I recommend joining before you head over to avoid having to wait there. Last time I went and checked, it was about an hour wait so I joined it and did some grocery shopping nearby before going there. I've had everything on the menu so it's up to the point where it depends on what I'm feeling. Everything on the menu is different so it's not too hard to choose. If I want something soupy, I'll go for the crab udon, if I want rice, the fried rice, something full of flavor, the Banh Mi Chao, something light, then the Banh Khot (good option since they don't make Banh Xeo on the weekends). The last time I went 07/04/2026, I noticed on the wall they were having a special, Bun Bo Hue, which I love when I go to pho restaurants. I'm not sure if it's new or I've been blind this whole time, but it did not disappoint. It was full of flavor, and it was nice that they put the spicy paste on the side for you to adjust the spiciness. I love spicy foods but one of my friends do not, so it was easy for us to enjoy our meal. It was also not just a spicy sauce to add; there was a past along with it. Shrimp paste maybe? I didn't ask, but it enhanced the flavor, so I recommend using it. Their sister restaurant, Me's Kitchen is next on my list to try. Can't wait!

We ordered a few dishes to share - 2 bánh khọt (Vietnamese mini pancakes), 1 xôi thập cẩm (sticky rice), 1 bánh mì chảo (filet mignon), and 2 cà phê dừa (coconut coffee). An order of bánh khọt came with 7 pancakes and a side of veggies and fish sauce. The pancakes were really crispy, and they were delicious, especially wrapped with the veggies. I just wished they gave more lettuce or at least allowed refills. More veggies was an extra charge. The xôi thập cẩm and bánh mì chảo were also good. The cà phê dừa was blended so it was more smoothie-like. The sweet coconut balanced out the strong coffee. Overall, we had a great and filling lunch. The restaurant was modern, polished, and inviting.

Yes, today was our first. I'm a sucker for excellent customer service and Cafe Burma and Mikayla had me at HELLO. LOL NOTE: I DIDN'T DO ANY PRE- REVIEW UPON ARRIVING. The husband wanted a Monday Date night and who am I to say No. What we had: *Planta with Chicken Coconut Dip. This planta is a crossover of naan with Mochi like middle with the prefect crisp served with an amazing Chicken sauce. Yah...will be having this again. Hubby had most of it because I was saving my appetite for what's to come. *TeaLead Salad - Yes its a MUST. The fried seasoned garlic is the secret to why this salad hits the palate in the most perfect way. The dressing is oil based which wasn't over powering or even greasy. The peanut was tastefully done. Yes - I ate most of it. Fresh ingredients in every bite. *Chili Basil Beef - at first glance, it looked like Mongolian Beef but far from the taste. The cumin, ginger and chili flakes gave this dish the wow factor. Mind you, I dislike ginger pieces and didn't come across one piece so they must have used ginger powder which I appreciate. We all know the benefits of ginger and I feel like I got a dose of it without biting into one. *PadThai - we were warned that the Burmese way come with a hint of sweetness and this was definitely true but notoverpowering. Husband enjoyed it, me not so much. The dishes came with extra large prawns. You can tell the prawns we're seasoned first hand before getting tossed into the mix. DRINKS: Husband had the coconut monsoon (rum with coconut flakes and I had Bite Dog HAZY IPA - yum. Prime location - corner of 16th street and J, street parking. Restaurant was clean and with a bar and open kitchen concept. What I would have liked: I wish the aesthetic of the restaurant showcased the culture. Wish the dishes were served in a more traditional serving plates. My eyes eat first so I would have appreciated the extra touch but the TASTE definitely made up for it. Will definitely be back! Need to try a dessert next time. Thanks for having us Chef Burma.

Kado Asian Fusion has been on my list to try for a while. I've been following them on social media…read moreand have read the reviews on Yelp and was so excited to finally try it out. The restaurant is super cute and has indoor and outdoor seating. The outdoor seating is covered and shaded which is perfect for warmer Sacramento months. They have a variety of menu items including a build your own bowl opton, tacos, nachos, sandwiches, loaded fries, musubi and an udon special. I ended up ordering the Umami Udon with special chicken as my protein ($13.50), a Build Your Own Bowl with fried rice, katsu chicken, the triple katsu sauce, and stir fried veggies with "The Works" ($16.50), and Musubi ($8.75). The staff was super friendly and helped me make some decisions for my order and recommended the umami udon special, which I'm so happy about. The food was made fresh and took a little bit, but was packed with care and was nice and hot. I took it home to enjoy and the food was still hot and the portion sizes were really generous. The Umami Udon was amazing, it had perfectly cooked udon noodles that had a great chew in a creamy teriyaki sauce with smokey bacon, mushrooms, onions and garlic. It was a great mix of sweet and savory and lived up to it's umami name. I would order this again and again, it was so good. The Build Your Own bowl was also delicious and I can see why the chicken katsu is a customer favorite. The veggies were fresh and the fried rice was really flavorful. The Spam Musubi had thick slices of spam with a nice marinade and came with sauces for dipping. I'll definitely be back again soon, and while I want to explore more of the menu the umami udon is happening again!

Kado Asian Fusion is located on Broadway and cater to the lunch/dinner crowds. They are open from 12-8pm every day except Sundays. The inside was clean and had a decent amount of tables. We ordered at the counter and then sat at a table while we waited for our food to go. They offer bowls, tacos, nachos, rolls and sandwiches! I don't always know what to order at new places - so I liked that they had signs for specials as well as "favorites." We ordered the Rice with Teriyaki Chicken, Oliver's Favorite which was Spam Musubi and Spam and Bacon Fried Rice and Mom and Dad's Forbidden Feast. Everything looked and tasted really good! Obviously, it would have been much better had we actually eaten in the restaurant, but still no complaints once we got it home. Spam Musubi is one of my favorite things to eat so I could have downed like 5 of them! Portions were huge too - they even have a 100 year old teriyaki recipe! Overall, I would definitely come back and try other items! Staff were also very friendly, personable and gave great recommendations! Check them out!
