Yaechae Soon Du Bu, Galbi (B1), Dolsot Bibimbap (Y2). What's most impressive about YD is their banchan (side dish) selection and taste/quality. They have over 15! Based off the items ordered, I'd give them a 3, but their side dishes increase their rating for me. The tofu soup was super watery, even at a medium spice. I was also very underwhelmed that the only veggies in there were zucchini and cabbage. Bibimbap was average, didn't dislike it but nothing about it stood out. Galbi was for sure the best item, but also not a complicated dish and hard to get wrong; this is the only item I'd reorder. Service was fine/helpful, but a bit inattentive, especially given the number of tables they had at the time. It's a large restaurant packed with many tables, a bit dimly lit without much natural light coming in. There's a small lot in front for multiple businesses.

We like the bulgogi, the sole fish, the Naengmyeon pajun, so many delicious dishes. During summer time I especially look forward to their mul naengmyeon! Honestly, they serve the best mul naengmyeon I've had so far - this is compared to a spot in Ktown LA, which is also well known for their naengmyeon. Highly recommend YD TOFU HOUSE!! Go and enjoy!

First of all, the food served is exactly like the photos. I got the short rib bun burger and bulgogi gyoza. The burger (omg) had a balance of sweet and salty but also a little spicy. Halfway through I noticed something yellow, it was a pineapple! Usually I have mixed feelings about pineapple with foods like pizza. But this complimented so well. Now, the gyoza. Crispy and you can't go wrong with bulgogi. What I was surprised with was inside I think it was japchae! If you like Korean food like me, I was so excited to see this twist. And yes it was yummy. I seem to get lucky most times and get to meet the owners. That day I met them and they're so nice! I can tell they put a lot of thought into the menu, ingredients, decor, etc. The owners are Japanese and Korean. Hence KoJa! Even this detail was really impressive. I ended up going back because the owner told me that his wife (also owner) created Yang Nyum and it was really good and popular. So I got Yang Nyum, kamikaze fries, and taro boba. The portions were great. But most of all, he was right about Yang Nyum, delicious! I didn't realize the kamikaze fries had beef, so yummy but I definitely overate that day, lol. One other thing I really liked was you could order at the register or kiosk. This is a great way to avoid lines. Once you order they have a screen that shows your ETA (why do other restaurants not have this?). I did go during the day though. So, I can only imagine how amazing it looks at night. Loved the counter seats where I imagine countless conversations of the Vietnam war when the place opened in the 60's. Service was always friendly and great, and I heard that the owners are moving out of state to be closer to family due to illness. Sad to see them go. We like to sit at the bar if there's just two of us, and will grab a table when we have friends. If you want to make sure you have a table, you can make a reservation ahead of time, but we usually don't need to wait too long. Our favorites are the brussel sprouts, karaage chicken, and their nigiri. We also really enjoy the sukiyaki, it's really flavorful and perfect for cooler or rainy weather. We still need to come by for brunch, but we've heard good things. The team here is always friendly, and we've been in enough that some of them recognize us now.

Also, with a full bar, bloody marys were not available. Really unfortunate for brunches. However, I understand this is mainly a sushi joint? So maybe I will need to come back for sushi sometime.
