DON'T GO HERE!!! I called midweek asking if I could make a reservation for 9. I was told no, 10 or more only for a weekend reservation, but to call day of and see how long the wait would be. I called the day of the event 1 hour prior to my desired dining time. I was told worst case it would be a 30 minute wait. There were 2 options to seat a large group. I arrived and checked in. At that time I was informed it would be 30 to 45 minutes but probably soon than later. After 30 minutes I asked why several groups were seated while my party of 9 continued to wait. I was informed that there was only 1 table for a party of 9, which was not what I was told mid week. We were told at 45 minutes the party using our table had paid their bill and were leaving. At 1 hour I was informed the table was still being bussed. I asked for a manger who said the hostess could have sat me earlier at a different lIr of tables, but the table we are waiting for would be ready when the grill was cleaned. We left. This was unacceptable! As you arrive at the restaurant and enter the lobby you are greeted by a view of the noisy kitchen doors, several bus carts and smoky hot air, air conditioning was not being used effectively, if at all. The hostesses are clueless to anything but putting names into the seating app. No personality, no truthful updates on wait time, and no offer of even water for a group who had been sitting in a hot stuffy waiting area for an hour. Also note that on the weekends when families are more apt to visit, they stick each person with a 'Gold' price to eat of over $60. The cheaper option is only during the week. What I saw were small portions of food. Oh, and they time you so at 90 minutes you can't get food. They start the timer as you're being seating so you really have far less than 90 minutes to eat. The best salmon quality i've had at ayce ! I genuinely think this is the tastiest salmon i've ever had at an ayce kbbq + sushi. Usually at these types of places they neglect the fish quality but this one was really good! Our server was bella and she was really great and so helpful! I feel like everyone was really nice when we went and super informative. the layout is super nice and there was cartoons on :D I really enjoyed the appetizers and I think if I could i would've ordered like 50 salmon and beef carpaccios alone ! as you can see the salmon was really fatty and thick. however, for the kbbq part we only tried the australian wagyu, and in my opinion it was a little too lean for my taste. there wasn't a lot of marbling, but I did really like the beef belly cut. There's a lot of marinated options if you're into that! additionally we also saw on instagram that they had bingsoo, but it wasn't on the menu so we were scared to ask. i think they do have it but you may have to ask your server. Let me just start by saying this place is overpriced and not a lot of options for what they are charging. The way they charge a child full price is insane. The quality, isn't the best but that's expected, I guess. If you like warm Sashimi and water, this place is for you. Stay away from The cheese fries, it has way too much of their unagi sauce. The shrimp tempura was undercooked. The "shin" ramen was also undercooked and just kimchi and kimchi paste, barely any broth. The beef bulgogi was super thick and barely any marinate. The other meat was either under seasoned or over seasoned, really inconsistent. Our server didn't feel like serving but the server across from us was great, way more attentive and overall friendlier. I came on a weekend and on weekends, they only offer the Gold menu (their most expensive and all inclusive menu) for $45.99 per person. There was a great selection offered, including sashimi. There was a 90 minute limit and drinks are not included. For sushi, we ordered the salmon, yellowtail, and tuna sashimi, seared salmon nigiri and salmon nigiri. All of the sashimi we ordered were really good and the seared salmon nigiri was the best! For appetizers, I tried the cheese, corn, seafood, pancake, salmon, carpaccio, and wagyu beef carpaccio. I really liked the beef carpaccio. The salmon carpaccio was good but I liked the seared salmon nigiri and salmon sashimi more. The seafood pancake was okay, a little thin. I probably wouldn't order that again. The cheese corn was good and very cheesy. For Korean BBQ, we tried the Australian Wagyu beef karubi , Australian Wagyu beef top round, Galbi, Bulgogi, brisket , garlic shrimp, American Wagyu beef toro, head-on shrimp, and finger short ribs. My favs were the galbi, brisket, shrimp, wagyu beef karubi and wagyu beef toro. I would have liked to try more items, but had to eat sushi too. We also got the BBQ pepper rice and that was really good too. For dessert, we enjoyed the sesame balls and the melon Melona and ice cream cup. It's definitely a splurge and a moment for gluttony. Came here on a Saturday at 5:15pm and we waiting about 50 minutes for a table for two. The place was VERY crowded and with an even larger amount of people waiting outside when we left. Clean and orderly restaurant. Our server was friendly and attentive and explained the menu to us. He came around a couple of times to check on us for additional orders and also to replace the grill midway. A+ for service. The tier defaults to Gold on the weekend. The food quality was good and I felt we got our money's worth. A lot of appetizer/sushi/meat options. The squid salad from the salad bar is a must try. The Pepper Beef Rice was surprisingly very good as well. All of the sashimi as very fresh. I also loved the beef carpaccio. The only area of improvement I can think of was the restroom. I wanted to try this place out and wanted to take my goddaughter here for her birthday yesterday, Friday. It does get pretty busy. We put our name around 6:45pm and got seated at around 7:30 give or take. Service (5/5): Shout out to our server Jessica. She was very attentive and took care of us really well. She was very attentive and made sure we got everything we needed in our table. They had a salad bar where you can get your kimchi, radish wrap, different salads and other items. The restaurant itself is actually pretty large and pretty spacious. Majority of the food was really good. Appetizers: we ordered the takoyaki which was really tasty, the shrimp tempura was good but needs more dipping sauce they barely put some on the plate. We also ordered dumplings and we enjoyed that appetizer as well. We then ordered different sashimi's and nigiri's and they were really good quality. I highly recommend their nigiri's and sashimi. They are very tasty and good size as well. Then we moved to the different meats they had and even that I would say were good quality. The bulgogi was really good, as well as the pork belly and brisket. They also have the option for additional charge for a high quality wagyu, we didn't try it but I saw it on the menu. I was not a big fan of the salmon carpaccio but I wasn't a big fan of it because of the sweet sauce it had. Drinks were $3.50 each which I think is pretty expensive because I got hot tea and for a cup and tea bag it was $3.50. I do recommend this place because they give you the best of both worlds with the sushi and korean bbq. There was enough sushi choices that you can just get that if you dont want the bbq. They have a decent amount of dessert choices. They have ice creams and other rice cake dessert. Also from Friday to Sunday they only serve the Gold Menu. And if you want to celebrate your birthday, it has to be the day of your birthday and if you have 6 parties or more the birthday person gets their meal for free but if there's less than 6 you get $15 off. We went on a Saturday at 5:20 and there was already a line. We waited about 50 minutes for a table for party of two but all tables seem to be made for at least 4 people. Saturdays are Gold menu only. Our server Aiden (??spelling) was very good. Since we had never been there before, he explained the menu and ordering process to us. Overall, the food was really good and our party left full and very satisfied. The food quality was top notch and you can't always expect that from AYCE food establishments. Why did I remove two stars you might ask? The first and biggest one is the lack of transparency on their pricing for the Gold and Silver tier. We'd never been to this restaurant before, so I was looking into this place online as a possible spot for my birthday. I found prices for their Gold and Silver tier on their website: $30.99 and $45.99. OK. We figured we'd opt for the Silver tier for everyone's budget. After arriving and waiting 30 minutes to be seated, we go inside to find that only the Gold $45.99 option is avaliable Friday-Sunday and an automatic 18% tip for parties of 6 or more. We were all understandably miffed and I was explaining to the group that there was no mention of this on their website. I went back and looked since then to confirm. Nowhere on their website is this listed. This is a big thing to miss and honestly I find it completely deceptive. We arrived, already waited 30 minutes, so why try and go elsewhere at this point? Also, no reservations on weekends unless you have $12+ people (per their site). My next issue. At the end of our meal, our server asks if we were celebrating anything. I said it was my birthday on Monday and we were celebrating today (Saturday). He proceeded to tell me that if it was my actual birthday, that I would get a discount and a free meal with 6+ people or more. Honestly, this stung...because a little too late and already after finding out I'm going to be spending way more than I anticipated because of the deceptive menu pricing. Finally, a table next to ours had a cake brought out and singing by the staff. I got none of that. They brought the check and then brought out my cupcakes they put in the fridge and just sat them on the table and left. No plates, silverware, nothing. So my 3 stars are for the food. Somehow found our way to Citrus Heights and Must Be Cow was bookmarked so we had to check it out! We arrived on a Friday for lunch so we had Gold for $46 per person. They have a self-serve bar with side dishes and ice cream options. I was surprised to see a very extensive sushi menu so we ordered the ahi tuna and summer hand roll to see if we liked the taste of the fish. The ahi tuna was not great and I couldn't finish it. The summer hand roll was much better but it wasn't enough to order anything else from the sushi menu. We ordered the first 6 listed in non-marined meats section (beef karubi, beef top round, boneless short rib, rib eye steak, brisket, and pork belly) along with an assortment of veggies. We didn't like the brisket much but everything else was decent. Service here was amazing! We never had to wait too long after placing our order. Our server Alex checked on us very regularly and empty plates were always cleared right away. Overall, this is a very westernized experience of sushi and KBBQ and I don't think I would find myself back here. My standard for sushi and meat is a bit higher than what Must Be Cow can offer but giving 4 stars because the service was so great. read more

The options they have to offer are diverse and allow for so many combinations of flavors. I will definitely be back. We have a favorite sushi spot that we always go to, but today we decided to try somewhere new for my husband's birthday. I came across Must Be Cow on Yelp and saw it had great reviews. Boy, were those reviews right! Even on a Tuesday, the restaurant was busy. As soon as you walk in, you check yourself into the waitlist using a computer kiosk and receive a text confirming your spot in line. We only waited about five minutes before being seated. If you're a party of two or three, you likely won't need a reservation. The restaurant itself is spacious, clean, and well-maintained. We love sushi, so finding a place that offers both all-you-can-eat sushi and Korean BBQ was a huge win. There are also a few fun spots around the restaurant for taking pictures and selfies. The tables were spotless, and I especially appreciated how clean the BBQ grill was. Our server was friendly, attentive, and took the time to walk us through the menu. He recommended a few of his favorite dishes, and my husband went with one of his suggestions and was not disappointed. Everything tasted incredibly fresh. The fish was fresh, the sushi was amazing, and the hand rolls were absolutely delicious. The Ahi Tuna Chip was out of this world and easily one of our favorite items of the night. There are two all-you-can-eat options: Silver and Gold. The Gold option includes a larger variety of menu items, and that's the one we chose. If it's your birthday, don't forget to bring your ID! Shocking for a weeknight... and in this economy haha My group of 6 chose the Gold option which includes both sushi and all meats. Great choice imo. Sushi was excellent. We kept ordering the carpaccios and sashimi. Were weren't shy with our orders. Quick to come out yet they still were able to maintain their presentation. Unfortunately no pictures of them lol but I did snag a picture of their hand rolls which were delicious. Next time I'll skip them so make room for the Wagyu. WOW on the meat quality. Galbi, Wagyu, steak were on rotation. Get your monies worth. Disappointed in the pork belly, sure it was long but thin - I like thicker cuts. Had the lychee tower as well. Def got a decent buzz or was it a sugar rush. Either way, not a bad option if you're trying to enjoy the meal. Mother's Day dinner on a Saturday a couple weeks after Mother's Day. HAH! Arrived at 4:30 and it wasn't busy yet, I was quoted 15 minutes for a party of 7. I waited until 5 pm to put my name down and it was still 15 minutes. I hope he is the shift manager, he needs to be with that customer service. GOLD menu- 39.99- only gold menu for dinner. SILVER menu is $10 cheaper- $29.99a only for lunch. Both menus have AYCE meat and sushi- just different cuts of meat for each tier. I was skeptical about the sushi at first, but it all came out pretty fresh and I did not get sick. I only eat sashimi and I don't eat Nigiri or sushi rolls. I really like their pepper, Finn style sashimi plate plates. No Korean sides like the other all you can eat Korean barbecue restaurants, which I don't mind. There are plenty of appetizer choices to choose from. They do have an appetizer sides self serve bar with kimchi, pickled garlic, ginger and what not. Ribeye was not the best cut but what can you expect when it is at and all you can eat place. But pretty great for ayce. Bone in short ribs were cut pretty thick, but that is my go to when I go to Korean barbecue. Kobe beef was spectacular and so was the beef belly. Pork jowl, I wish it was cut just a bit thinner, but I love it because not every place has it. I wish they had pork intestines, not every place has this either. Pork belly was pretty good. I love that they do not charge for pieces of lettuce on the side. It is a part of the all-you-can-eat menu. All in all, it's not bad and a lot more affordable than other all you can eat Korean barbecue places that cost more and does not taste as good. This place opened up late last year and I'm glad I finally got a chance to try it out. First the food, the meat was so fresh and the cuts were all well done with the perfect amount to be able to grill (not too thin or not too large where it doesn't cook) The options that were seasoned were done well, and I especially loved finger cut and the galbi short rib. The hand rolls were a good size and the sashimi was fresh. The service was super friendly and helpful with suggestions for picks for our hand rolls. I will say being at a newer place is nice the grills didn't have those random hotter spots or inconsistency in the plate temperature. The vents dropping down so low kept the smoke at a low level even when it was in the middle of a weekend lunch rush. Finally The inside was well done and had a nice modern feel. As someone currently following a low-carb, high-protein diet, Korean BBQ is always a great fit, and Must Be Cow delivered with a wide and fresh selection of meats and sides. The salmon carpaccio and Kobe carpaccio were excellent--both flavorful and well-prepared. The squid and mushroom salad was also fresh and tasty. Most of the meat selection was delicious, though the ribeye was a bit underwhelming. While it was a generous cut, it lacked seasoning, so I recommend adding your own before grilling to bring out its full potential. The biggest disappointment was the absence of fresh oysters. Based on their advertising, that was actually the main reason we chose to drive 45 minutes instead of going to our usual spots in Elk Grove, which are much closer. It would be great to see oysters return to the menu in the future. Would we come back? Possibly--though the distance is a factor. The restaurant has a good amount of seating, but the larger tables would definitely benefit from having two grills instead of just one. They offer two pricing options for AYCE. My favorite is the higher-tier menu, which I believe is around $49 per person. It includes unlimited American Kobe beef, and that cut is absolutely delicious. This menu also comes with a wide variety of other meats, seafood, sushi rolls and appetizers. There's also a simple salad bar with garlic, lettuce, kimchi cucumbers, and other sides that pair really well with Korean BBQ. Have been here a couple of times now, and arguably my favorite place in Sacramento to grab KBBQ. The combination of sushi and KBBQ is a match made in heaven for me, personally. The fact that there's both hand rolls and sashimi is awesome. It's great to have that, in addition to the KBBQ options. The fact that you can get a decent amount per round also makes it even better. The amount of options you can get per round makes me a happy camper, you won't be left thinking that there's too much time in between bites. Service is great too, constantly checking. What a great combo when you're craving both BBQ and sushi, especially at a solid value of $39.99 (as of April 2026)! Cute cow statue out front and vibes that reminded me of a budget-friendly version of a Chubby Group spot. Order unlimited number of times within 90 minutes by flagging down your server. Adrian was our temporary server, and you could immediately feel his energy... attentive, helpful, and genuinely engaged. When our regular server returned from break, it was a 180... she didn't introduce herself nor regularly check-in if we wanted to order more, and the contrast was noticeable; the service energy just wasn't the same. Food wise, items were hit or miss. ==HITS== I really liked the self-serve bar for salad, and there were also melona bars for dessert, one per customer! The handrolls were very generous with avocado (almost a bit too much that I had to deconstruct them to eat it). The truffle carpaccio was excellent and easily one of my favorite dish, along with Kobe beef. The salmon carpaccio with unagi sauce was rich. I'm really glad I tried the pepper rice last minute, reminds me of Pepper Lunch. The server recommended it as a shareable dish for two, but I ended up finishing the WHOLE thing mmm! Wait-time: we went on weekends dinner, but didn't wait that long (only around 10 min) for group of 12 people for 2 tables. Each table comfortably sit 6 people. Restroom: clean decent Your party (in same table) will order same package. I would say their meats are good quality. Along with bibimbap, sushi rolls, chicken wings, etc. There is a table for all condiments. At the end, you can get ice cream of your choice from the fridge in the middle corner, next to condiments table. Service: decent. Only take 2 credit cards per table. read more

(Downsize is a lot of raw options for those who don't consume raw but cooked only). But hey I took it and put it on the grill Lots of meet options and if you're a vegetarian I would recommend you to look elsewhere. Pescatarian has a lots of raw options but for the grill it's only a few. (Recommended ordering raw fish and putting it in the grill) You're welcome. Meat and sushi were really fresh. Sushi comes in hand rolls which was awesome and easy to eat. My server Alexis was wonderful and helpful. All the food was good quality. Wish they have a Yelp Check in or the ability to add yourself to the waitlist. Bonchon's were limited and keeps having to ask for more lettuce was a little tire some. The food was all so amazing. We tried to order at least one of most items on the menu. Our server, Tyler, was fantastic! He checked up on us and took our order very often, guided us through the menu, and was incredibly knowledgeable about the food. The restaurant itself is spacious, and super adorable waiting area. The big cow with the sashimi and kaws statues were so cute, and the restaurant is super lively and well-lit. We were a party of 8, and the table only came with one grill in the middle. But the grill was like industrial iron pan grill, so it cooked the meat so well. The stars of the show were definitely the salmon carpaccio and their beef items. Their beef was juicy and well marinated. The salmon was just as delicious and smooth, and the sauce had hints of sweetness. Appetizers, beers, pepper plate, and desserts were also super delicious! I liked their kimchi tofu soup, however it felt like it was lacking an extra flavor.. probably needed some more sesame oil. And the fact they carried purple rice was the cherry on top, I love purple rice! And I enjoyed the side dish buffet bar and their ice cream fridge! Very disappointing experience -- horrible customer service! I would not recommend this place if you have young children. We waited 45 minutes for a table, and when we were finally seated, I asked for a high chair or booster seat for my toddler. I was then told that we would have to wait another 45 minutes for a different table just to accommodate a child. I asked to speak with the manager, expecting him to at least try to help or find a solution. Unfortunately, he showed no concern or willingness to assist. His response was essentially, "You have to wait, and that's it." The way we were treated was extremely disappointing and felt very dismissive. Families with young children should be treated with consideration and respect, especially when something as basic as a high chair or booster seat is needed. I will not be returning, and I would strongly recommend families with toddlers think twice before coming here. read more

We arrived early right when they opened at 11. The food was good and the service was fast. The inside seating had booths and the banchan area was stocked with kimchi and other goods. Also you can get a melona ice cream to go when you're done with your meal. It was a nice experience with the options of KBQ and sushi together. read more

Gold menu review, Must Be Cow is our new favorite Korean BBQ. Like every new Korean place the decor is cool and fun. The Australian Waygu items are scrumptious and they are so fatty you really get full faster than anticipated. The sushi hand rolls were good and soy garlic chicken wings were better than Bonchon's. The Silver menu is only available Monday thru Thursday. Gold is the only option Friday-Sunday. I doubt the silver menu is worth it as the Australian Waygu is the star at Must Be Cow. read more
