We went on a Saturday at 5:20 and there was already a line. We waited about 50 minutes for a table for party of two but all tables seem to be made for at least 4 people. Saturdays are Gold menu only. Our server Aiden (??spelling) was very good. Since we had never been there before, he explained the menu and ordering process to us. He also changed the grill for us midway through and checked in on us to see if we wanted to order more. Food was very good and sushi tasted fresh. Hand rolls looked very impressive and tasted good too. I wish my stomach was bigger so I could try more things on the menu. Our table and restaurant were clean and orderly. However I went to bathroom around 6 pm and they were already out of TP in one stall and paper towel was empty...maybe check on that more often??

Came here on a Saturday at 5:15pm and we waiting about 50 minutes for a table for two. The place was VERY crowded and with an even larger amount of people waiting outside when we left. Clean and orderly restaurant. Our server was friendly and attentive and explained the menu to us. He came around a couple of times to check on us for additional orders and also to replace the grill midway. A+ for service. The tier defaults to Gold on the weekend. The food quality was good and I felt we got our money's worth. A lot of appetizer/sushi/meat options. The squid salad from the salad bar is a must try. The Pepper Beef Rice was surprisingly very good as well. All of the sashimi as very fresh. I also loved the beef carpaccio. The only area of improvement I can think of was the restroom. Probably needs to be cleaned more frequently and refills on toilet paper and paper towels. All in all, it was a great dining experience. On par with quality Korean BBQ AYCE. And we me the requirements, MUST BE COW. We definitely felt like Cows after we ate all that food :)

Somehow found our way to Citrus Heights and Must Be Cow was bookmarked so we had to check it out! We arrived on a Friday for lunch so we had Gold for $46 per person. They have a self-serve bar with side dishes and ice cream options. I was surprised to see a very extensive sushi menu so we ordered the ahi tuna and summer hand roll to see if we liked the taste of the fish. The ahi tuna was not great and I couldn't finish it. The summer hand roll was much better but it wasn't enough to order anything else from the sushi menu. We ordered the first 6 listed in non-marined meats section (beef karubi, beef top round, boneless short rib, rib eye steak, brisket, and pork belly) along with an assortment of veggies. We didn't like the brisket much but everything else was decent. Service here was amazing! We never had to wait too long after placing our order. Our server Alex checked on us very regularly and empty plates were always cleared right away. Overall, this is a very westernized experience of sushi and KBBQ and I don't think I would find myself back here. My standard for sushi and meat is a bit higher than what Must Be Cow can offer but giving 4 stars because the service was so great.

Overall, the food was really good and our party left full and very satisfied. The food quality was top notch and you can't always expect that from AYCE food establishments. Why did I remove two stars you might ask? The first and biggest one is the lack of transparency on their pricing for the Gold and Silver tier. We'd never been to this restaurant before, so I was looking into this place online as a possible spot for my birthday. I found prices for their Gold and Silver tier on their website: $30.99 and $45.99. OK. We figured we'd opt for the Silver tier for everyone's budget. After arriving and waiting 30 minutes to be seated, we go inside to find that only the Gold $45.99 option is avaliable Friday-Sunday and an automatic 18% tip for parties of 6 or more. We were all understandably miffed and I was explaining to the group that there was no mention of this on their website. I went back and looked since then to confirm. Nowhere on their website is this listed. This is a big thing to miss and honestly I find it completely deceptive. We arrived, already waited 30 minutes, so why try and go elsewhere at this point? Also, no reservations on weekends unless you have $12+ people (per their site). My next issue. At the end of our meal, our server asks if we were celebrating anything. I said it was my birthday on Monday and we were celebrating today (Saturday). He proceeded to tell me that if it was my actual birthday, that I would get a discount and a free meal with 6+ people or more. Honestly, this stung...because a little too late and already after finding out I'm going to be spending way more than I anticipated because of the deceptive menu pricing. Finally, a table next to ours had a cake brought out and singing by the staff. I got none of that. They brought the check and then brought out my cupcakes they put in the fridge and just sat them on the table and left. No plates, silverware, nothing. So my 3 stars are for the food. The deceptive pricing and service could definitely be improved. See screenshots of the website where nothing at all is mentioned about the Silver tier only being available Monday- Thursday.

We have a favorite sushi spot that we always go to, but today we decided to try somewhere new for my husband's birthday. I came across Must Be Cow on Yelp and saw it had great reviews. Boy, were those reviews right! Even on a Tuesday, the restaurant was busy. As soon as you walk in, you check yourself into the waitlist using a computer kiosk and receive a text confirming your spot in line. We only waited about five minutes before being seated. If you're a party of two or three, you likely won't need a reservation. The restaurant itself is spacious, clean, and well-maintained. We love sushi, so finding a place that offers both all-you-can-eat sushi and Korean BBQ was a huge win. There are also a few fun spots around the restaurant for taking pictures and selfies. The tables were spotless, and I especially appreciated how clean the BBQ grill was. Our server was friendly, attentive, and took the time to walk us through the menu. He recommended a few of his favorite dishes, and my husband went with one of his suggestions and was not disappointed. Everything tasted incredibly fresh. The fish was fresh, the sushi was amazing, and the hand rolls were absolutely delicious. The Ahi Tuna Chip was out of this world and easily one of our favorite items of the night. There are two all-you-can-eat options: Silver and Gold. The Gold option includes a larger variety of menu items, and that's the one we chose. If it's your birthday, don't forget to bring your ID! You'll receive a free drink and $15 off your meal, which was a nice surprise. We absolutely loved this place and will definitely be back. If you're looking for fresh sushi, delicious Korean BBQ, great service, and a fun dining experience, Must Be Cow is well worth a visit.

Let's be real, this place is the new kbbq spot. Thankful I made a reservation. I was surprised at how busy it was for a Tuesday! There were so many people flowing in, it looked like they reached capacity. The vibe was high energy. Shocking for a weeknight... and in this economy haha My group of 6 chose the Gold option which includes both sushi and all meats. Great choice imo. Sushi was excellent. We kept ordering the carpaccios and sashimi. Were weren't shy with our orders. Quick to come out yet they still were able to maintain their presentation. Unfortunately no pictures of them lol but I did snag a picture of their hand rolls which were delicious. Next time I'll skip them so make room for the Wagyu. WOW on the meat quality. Galbi, Wagyu, steak were on rotation. Get your monies worth. Disappointed in the pork belly, sure it was long but thin - I like thicker cuts. Had the lychee tower as well. Def got a decent buzz or was it a sugar rush. Either way, not a bad option if you're trying to enjoy the meal. Their steamed egg still needs a bit of work as ours came out watery, a little over cooked. The japchae need a bit more flavor. The kimchi and cucumbers hit. Unfortunately their radish tastes a bit off. Not cold, crisp and refreshing as other places either. Overall great experience for first time with my friends. PRO TIP: make a reservation!

I think Must Be Cow has taken the #1 spot as my favorite AYCE KBBQ... what's even better is that it's AYCE sushi as well. Everything we ordered was great. The quality of the meats were there, sushi was great, and the service was amazing. The japchae and corn cheese were a HITTTT at my table. Some of the sashimi pieces were small... but good thing it's AYCE right? The spicy salmon hand roll was SO GOOD. Please do try it if you get the chance. We came on a Friday, and to no surprise, there was a LONGGGG wait time. Especially since it was also grad week for Sacramento State, so people also had lots to celebrate.

5/29/26 Back for dinner with the fambam Ordered the usual suspects as last review and tried tofu seafood soup and the kimchi beef pepper rice this time and it was worth the try! If you want dessert (outside of the ice cream), order it ahead of getting the bill cuz it takes a really long time before you get it..... It could drag on and could be the cause to almost killing a great dinner if you were looking forward to eating warm sesame balls to finish your meal...so try to order ahead. Service was good, orders outside of dessert comes quick! Ambiance is busy after 6pm like most dinner places :)

Mother's Day dinner on a Saturday a couple weeks after Mother's Day. HAH! Arrived at 4:30 and it wasn't busy yet, I was quoted 15 minutes for a party of 7. I waited until 5 pm to put my name down and it was still 15 minutes. I put my name down anyways, because the hostess stated she would put me back in around 5:20 for my party that is arriving around that time for l our 5:30 dinner. We waited about 30 minutes and sat at 6pm. We had the nice little back room with 4 booths. It was much cooler back there and less smoke from the grilling. Our server was Anthony, he seemed not happy at first and progressively had better customer service along the way. The employees dropping off the food, one especially was so enthusiastic we LOVED it! I hope he is the shift manager, he needs to be with that customer service. GOLD menu- 39.99- only gold menu for dinner. SILVER menu is $10 cheaper- $29.99a only for lunch. Both menus have AYCE meat and sushi- just different cuts of meat for each tier. I was skeptical about the sushi at first, but it all came out pretty fresh and I did not get sick. I only eat sashimi and I don't eat Nigiri or sushi rolls. I really like their pepper, Finn style sashimi plate plates. No Korean sides like the other all you can eat Korean barbecue restaurants, which I don't mind. There are plenty of appetizer choices to choose from. They do have an appetizer sides self serve bar with kimchi, pickled garlic, ginger and what not. Ribeye was not the best cut but what can you expect when it is at and all you can eat place. But pretty great for ayce. Bone in short ribs were cut pretty thick, but that is my go to when I go to Korean barbecue. Kobe beef was spectacular and so was the beef belly. Pork jowl, I wish it was cut just a bit thinner, but I love it because not every place has it. I wish they had pork intestines, not every place has this either. Pork belly was pretty good. I love that they do not charge for pieces of lettuce on the side. It is a part of the all-you-can-eat menu. All in all, it's not bad and a lot more affordable than other all you can eat Korean barbecue places that cost more and does not taste as good. I am sure that they will be raising their prices once they establish customers to be more comparable to other Korean barbecue all you can eat restaurant prices.

This place opened up late last year and I'm glad I finally got a chance to try it out. First the food, the meat was so fresh and the cuts were all well done with the perfect amount to be able to grill (not too thin or not too large where it doesn't cook) The options that were seasoned were done well, and I especially loved finger cut and the galbi short rib. The hand rolls were a good size and the sashimi was fresh. The service was super friendly and helpful with suggestions for picks for our hand rolls. I will say being at a newer place is nice the grills didn't have those random hotter spots or inconsistency in the plate temperature. The vents dropping down so low kept the smoke at a low level even when it was in the middle of a weekend lunch rush. Finally The inside was well done and had a nice modern feel. Would definitely come back.

Fun place with a great atmosphere! The server was nice and efficient. She checked on us periodically and reminded us when our 90 minutes were up. Overall, a fun experience - good food and better company with friends.

We recently visited Must Be Cow in Citrus Heights for the first time to celebrate my husband's birthday, and overall, it was a solid experience with a few standout highlights. We arrived on a Friday around 5 PM and were pleasantly surprised that the wait was minimal, especially since they do not take reservations for parties of two. Parking was easy. As a nice birthday perk, my husband received $15 off, which was a thoughtful touch. The restaurant itself is clean, modern, and visually inviting. The service team was friendly, attentive, and courteous throughout our visit, which made the experience even more enjoyable. As someone currently following a low-carb, high-protein diet, Korean BBQ is always a great fit, and Must Be Cow delivered with a wide and fresh selection of meats and sides. The salmon carpaccio and Kobe carpaccio were excellent--both flavorful and well-prepared. The squid and mushroom salad was also fresh and tasty. Most of the meat selection was delicious, though the ribeye was a bit underwhelming. While it was a generous cut, it lacked seasoning, so I recommend adding your own before grilling to bring out its full potential. The biggest disappointment was the absence of fresh oysters. Based on their advertising, that was actually the main reason we chose to drive 45 minutes instead of going to our usual spots in Elk Grove, which are much closer. It would be great to see oysters return to the menu in the future. Would we come back? Possibly--though the distance is a factor. That said, if oysters make a comeback, we would absolutely return without hesitation. Overall, a great spot with quality food and service. Definitely worth trying.

Heard about this new KBBQ spot and decided to give it a try. I called ahead before coming in for lunch to see how busy they were. It wasn't too busy for a Saturday afternoon, and we were seated right away. It started picking up around the time we finished. We enjoyed the sushi more than the KBBQ, so the Gold pricing made it worth it in that sense. One thing to note on the weekends is that they offer Gold pricing ($39.99) Fri-Sun only, which isn't bad. FOOD REVIEW APPETIZERS Salmon Carpaccio - 3/5: This was okay. It would've been more enjoyable if it was prepared like the hamachi jalapeño dish. Hamachi Jalapeño - 4/5 I'm a fan of this Ahi Tuna - 3.5/5: The sauce was too sweet for my taste. Kobe Beef Carpaccio - 5/5: This was our favorite appetizer. Spicy Salmon Chips - 3/5: Didn't taste any spice and lacked some flavor. Pepper Tuna Tataki - 4/5: This was good. HAND ROLLS Spicy Salmon Hand Roll - 5/5 Mango Salmon Hand Roll - 5/5 Philadelphia Hand Roll - 3/5: Too much cream cheese. Sunrise Hand Roll - 5/5 Sunset Hand Roll - 5/5: This was my favorite. Summer Hand Roll - 5/5 Surf Clam Sashimi - 3.5/5 KBBQ American Kobe Beef - 3/5 Beef Brisket - 3/5 Ribeye Steak - 3.5/5 Finger Short Rib - 3.5/5: Lacked flavor Galbi Short Ribs - 3.5/5: Lacked flavor SIDE DISHES Japchae - 4/5: I enjoyed this. Waitress gave us a few minutes to make our decision and our order was processed and receive within minutes. Our order arrived fresh + hot and you can tell all the vegetables were freshly prepared that day in fact it was apparent that the seafood was not frozen. The dining room is very inviting, comfortable, relaxing, and trendy. It makes you forget you're not at home. I strongly recommend this place as a go to restaurant because it will be on my list.

This restaurant had been…read moreon my radar for sometime, but the fact that it was called Folsom Palace lead my brain to believe it was in Folsom-took me a minute to grasp that it was actually right down the street from me in Citrus Heights. Our usual family of four was a family of three for the evening and this was the restaurant we chose. Boy did family member number four miss out! The service was impeccable from the moment that we walked in. That includes being greeted right away. The waitstaff was incredibly attentive and on top of the details. We ordered some pretty standard items off the menu to please everyone-vegetable chow mein, lemon chicken and pot stickers. Even though these might sound like boring dishes, they actually came out with such flair! The presentation on the dishes were gorgeous. They tasted amazing as well. I love the lighting of the restaurant. It gave it such a chill vibe. It's on a very busy street but you've never know it once you walk in it kind of feels like you are more tucked away in a smaller neighborhood.. I'm definitely looking forward to the next visit where I can try some more items like their Korean short ribs, I'd love to try some of their Curry's and a lot more of their chef specials!

So it's Valentines night around 630p and I had settled in on the couch thinking my evening was…read moreset, when my 24 year old daughter who was visiting for the weekend from out of town comes into the living room and was like "So where are we going for dinner tonight?"I literally did LOL and was like "Nowhere-not on Valentine's Day on a Saturday night with no reservations".She did not accept that as an acceptable answer and she jumped on her phone and after calling place after place she found a spot that had a wait under 30 minutes, though it was pretty far from Natomas and it's a place I have zero and I do mean zero experience with-but what are you going to do-When the wife and the daughter want to go to dinner on Valentines Day,I guess you get off the couch and head on out-we headed out to Modurang Korean Restaurant on Folsom Blvd. Parking at this location is kinda tricky in front of the restaurant as the spots seem very close and people seemed to be parking recklessly but luckily it's quite a large lot with many spaces in front of some of the other shops in this multi tenant shopping area. Once we got to the restaurant we noticed a few people waiting in the lobby ahead of us but considering what night it was,I was fine with it.We ended up waiting about 20 minutes before we got our table. I will admit fully I have zero expertise at Korean restaurant, outside of occasional visits to a BBQ spot but at traditional sit down Korean restaurant,I was out of my element.Luckily for me,the daughter has spent multiple weeks in Korea thru her military service,so I felt like I was in good hands-I let her have total control of what we were eating that night, that wasnt easy for me to do. We ended up going with Fried Chicken in spicy sauce($22.95)-Seafood Fried Rice($18.95)-Soft Tofu Stew($17.95)-Hot Stone Beef Bibimbab($19.95),which along with the courtesy banchan was so much food-but I'd never been to this restaurant-I wanted to try some things. To drink we ended up going with some Blackberry wine($14.95) and my daughter went with a Milkis($1.95) drink-I just went with water but I did have my eye on some Soju, but decided against it since I wasn't sure what I was up against "food-wise". Once the food arrived which was lightning quick-I was in heaven, the 11 small dish banchan along with our dishes,I can't tell you which was best because everything I tasted was on point and kept getting better and better. My bibimbap was so fun to eat-I enjoyed the act of mixing it all up before trying it-was so tasty. The tofu stew came out piping hot and the flavor profile was like nothing I've had before-it was super enjoyable. If I had to say though, the star of the meal was that fried chicken in spicy sauce-holy smokes-large pieces of chicken drowning in the spicy sauce,it was a flavor overload that I couldnt get enough of-I loved them-I think I ate 80% of them-sorry wife and daughter-I couldnt help myself, they were awesome,I'd always heard how good Korean chicken was but now I can vouch for it-it's really really great-do yourself a favor and get this dish-it's awesome. In closing,if you ever find yourself in the mood to try a traditional Korean restaurant in the Sacramento area,I would without a doubt recommend Modurang Korean restaurant-it was a pretty amazing place and I'm glad I tried it-hope you feel the same way if u try it one day. PS-forgot to mention that Blackberry wine was delicious-another surprise of the night-very enjoyable.

We haven't been here in awhile so I decided to come here again. It was a Tuesday and we got there…read morearound 5:15PM. We were the only ones in there . We sat in the middle of the restaurant. Greeted by the staff and handed menus. I have been here so many times and I love this place. It is in a small strip mall with some parking that is kind of tight. We found parking , fine. We got the seafood tofu soup, white meaning no spice. It was packed with seafood and we like it a lot. I wanted the fried flounder but they came out and said they were out of it. crap. they suggested the mackerel but that is the salty one but the wife said to try it but it was salty , She didn't like it much. The bones are big so easy to get rid of them. It was just ok. I think we won't order this again. Not as good as the flounder. We got the Galbi but it was really fatty tonight. Good flavor but less meat. Also got the fried chicken which is always yummy. Comes out really hot. It's funny that the server thought we ordered a lot but ate most of it . She don't know me hahaha. The food came out really quick since we were the only ones there. Felt like I booked the places just for us.
