Bang for your buck! The food is so affordable here. I do wish the food did not come in styrofoam plates. The Japan house roll with the fried chicken was my favorite! The crab rangoons were delicious, but the chicken gyozas stole the show for the appetizers. The outside was perfectly crisp while the inside was filled with soft moist chicken. The noddles were great but the chicken in the noddle dish was a little dry. The service is super quick here you will not have to wait much time for your food here. First Time Ordering After they just reopened. Remodeled. And having just moved down here from out of state. I've had my fair share of Hibachi from plenty of places. Some good. Some bad. That's okay though. I ordered their Chicken Teriyaki Lunchbox with only zucchini. Wanted something easy. Small. And simple given I only ordered for lunch. And to say I was surprised is an understatement. It is NOT completed drown in sauce. The rice has just enough flavor. To go with the teriyaki chicken. It's simple. And quite tasty for someone who doesn't want overly complicated food in their stomach. (Stomach issues and have to be careful) It's just enough flavor. Just enough for one person. And only 12 bucks. Worth it. If you need quick lunch or dinner or want hibachi that will please you, give them a chance. I think you'll be surprised. Not everyone's tastebuds are the same, and that's okay too. This place was pretty good! I got the crab rangoon, chicken salad, and 2 rolls for $30. I love how the chicken came separately from the salad so if you weren't ready to eat it, nothing got soggy. Japan House is a small, local hibachi and sushi spot located on Long Hollow Pike in a small shopping plaza behind the Taco Bell. I was craving sushi and had a trip planned to the nearby Kroger, so Japan House was in the right place and served up the right stuff! I ordered a pick-up order via their site, which was a breeze. I ordered, set my pick-up time and the rest was history. I went with an order of chicken gyoza, one Yum Yum roll and a Spicy Tuna roll. My rolls and the gyoza were decent, but really were not anything to write home about. The gyoza was over cooked and I could taste the oil they were cooked in. My yum yum roll was a tad tough/over fried and my spicy tuna roll turned out to just be a tuna roll, no spicy. For the price, around $28 after tip and service fee, I will say the rolls were as expected. I did enjoy the fact that they have a whole drive thru/pick-up window! That is the first time I have ever gotten my sushi through a takeout window! Service at the window was great as she was friendly and kind. Overall, I liked Japan House enough to give them another try in the future. Maybe I got the wrong rolls...or maybe hibachi is their thing more than sushi? Either way, I will be back and hopefully can add a star or two. read more

Japan house is a weekly staple for my household as my picky eating wife is always in the mood for carry out hibachi. My go to is the chicken & filet combo add extra mushrooms to the veggies. I think we have had some sushi from here as well but it's not memorable. Not a bad price for the quantity of food you get & it's just as good as any sit down table service hibachi imho. Have to be careful when ordering on their site because often if you will pay for extra veggies and they will completely leave that veggie out of your order, which can be annoying. I placed an online deliver order for the filet steak and noodles. My steak was cooked extremely well done, I ordered medium rare. The steak lacks flavor, it's just steak with no seasoning and not cooked to order. The noodles were a bit bland as well. They also did not give me any utensils. 2/5 stars. Edible, but I would not order again. I'm sure it's better if you go in person, I don't think they put much effort into delivery orders though. read more

Sushi is small compared with other sushi restaurants in this area. It could be compared to the sushi at Kroger or Publix. Most customers we saw were there for takeout although there are tables inside. Many fast dishes are available there as well. Nice interior but the restaurant is way back off the main road and not visible until you are right upon it. Very small kitchen area. The staff varies in friendliness from time to time. read more

Me and My husband decided to go to lunch at this New location of Japan House in Gallatin TN. I'm so glad we did it was Delicious. We ordered the Hibachi Chicken and shrimp it came with Fried rice and Vegetables and a California Sushi Roll. They brought it to our table fast,hot,and delicious. The portions size are very big.I had to get a to go box to put my leftovers in. The prices are very affordable.You walk up to the counter to place and pay for your order and seat down at a table or a booth with sliding chairs. You can eat inside. My parents eat here very often and recommended it for a quick and delicious meal, and they were right! The food was very good! We actually called in an order to pick up and I couldn't believe it but we didn't even have to get out of the car to get our food- you literally pull up to the side of the restaurant and there is a drive thru window! We placed our order over the phone for 2 hibachi meals (steak on one and chicken for the other) with both rice and noodles and then picked it up 10 minutes later. It was hot and fresh and we didn't have to wait at all! So easy. This was the first time I've ever ordered hibachi to go- I have always opted to go and sit at a restaurant where the food is prepared in front of you and I get the full experience of the hibachi meal, but this was just so easy and so affordable that it is perfect for the meals when you want the deliciousness without the whole shebang. My only complaint (for this single experience, which my mom says is not typical for the restaurant!) is that the veggies that came with the meal were few and far between. She insists that usually the meal is loaded with plenty of veggies but that wasn't the case for either the steak or the chicken meals we had. I also thought that the "medium" steak we ordered was over cooked -- it was definitely more of a well done. But overcooked to me is better than undercooked so I'm not really even bothered honestly. For the price, you can't beat the quantity. Japan House serves food similar to a habachi styled restaurant but at a fraction of the price. You order at the counter then wait for someone to bring you your food. There is unlimited teriyaki sauce, yum yum sauce, and hot chili sauce available in a mini fridge next to the drink machine. In the past I have enjoyed the hibachi menu from Japan House but today I ordered sushi and found crab shell all throughout my sushi roll. I called to let the location know that they hadn't shelled the crab and the man who answered the phone asked me what I wanted and I said I was just calling to let them know what happened so they could fix the issue with their chef for the future and he then told me he doesn't want to speak with me. I'm frustrated because they made no effort to make reparations or even resolve the issue moving forward but rather got frustrated with me for calling with a complaint. Japan house is decent enough that I will likely return, but I won't be ordering sushi from them any more. Good hibachi places are hard to find... kinda hit or miss. So I was really skeptical to try fast food hibachi! It happened quite by accident, as another nearby hibachi restaurant had closed about 45 minutes early, even though Yelp and their signage all said they were open. So I spotted Japan House on Yelp, and figured it was worth a try. I'm glad I did! Now, if you're looking for ambience, a romantic date night, or a hibachi show... this is not the place. It's a fast food dining room in a strip mall. But they have an extensive menu, and great prices... but how was the food going to be? As I said, nothing to lose, so I ordered the hibachi steak and chicken combo. This is usually $30+ at my normal hibachi place. Here, it was $14! I have to say that I was pleasantly surprised by the taste and quality of the food! Besides being good, there was plenty of it! Tempura shrimp and veggies were delicious! Teriyaki chicken, delicious! Scallion pancake, delicious. Rice with the meals was just ok - kind of like a cross between steamed and fried. Prices are very reasonable, probably due to low scale interior and "fast food" aspects (order at counter, styrofoam plates & cups, plastic utensils, drive-through window).
