I love shushi and spotted this place after getting my nails done. The name caught my attention so I had to check it out. I absolutely love the vibe, as a rock chick and musician, how could I not ;) The bar's lights are Elvis mics, guitars on the wall, a drum set in the "attic" and by the entrance, the entire deco in there is so inviting. They have screens playing 90's and classic rock music videos. I ordered a green tea and got it in a christmas cup (so cute), we had the Alabama Roll, Eel Roll and Veggie Solo. It was delicious. Our server Hannah was super sweet and attentive. Only thing I didn't like was being charged 80 cents for more ginger and wasabi. I got it anyway but I've never had a sushi place charge me extra for each. However that won't stop me from going back. They have Tuesday Trivia, I can see that being fun. I've been coming to Rock N Roll Sushi since they first opened and hands down, they have the best sushi. I honestly can't go anywhere else because nothing compares. Tonight was especially great. Eva and Mackenzie gave me the absolute best service. I ordered the VIP Roll (baked) and the Tour Bus Roll (also baked) and they were incredible, so fresh, flavorful and perfectly done. I originally came in just to pick up ToGo, but I sat at the bar to place my order and had such a great experience. They were so kind, offered me water while I waited, kept me updated on my order and actually took the time to get to know me. They even let me talk about my new boutique, Rockin' Rowan and supported me on Instagram, which meant more than they probably realized. Amazing food, amazing service and genuinely kind people. I've now had 2 awful experiences at this location! First time was told ramen machine was broken. That's fine I selected something different, came in tonight 4/25/26. Ordered some drinks, after being told most of what we were ordering was out. Settled on different drinks and ordered our food. Nearly 30 minutes after we ordered we were told that someone sent my order out to another customer. They the took nearly an hour to make a new ramen dish! While my wife's food sat on the counter getting cold. Went to leave and a waitress suggested coming to a different restaurant up the road. Will not be coming back! read more

We got there at 607p, we immediately sat. There was only 1 server. We had to get our own menus and wait a full 20 mins before they came to get our order. The food arrived at about 650p. The food that did arrive earlier (hibachi and the appetizer meal) was a bit bland but still good. The prices were not bad and there are a ton of options. DONT GO!!! Save your money!! It was absolutely awful. My rolls tasted fishy and were soaked in the "spicy" sauce which was also gross. I've never been to a sushi restaurant where the display was so sloppy and thrown together. I ordered Miso soup which was piping hot, the waitress put it right next to my 2 year old. My second visit. I've entered an empty restaurant to servers who are leaning against the counter. The look up a brief second and yell at me from across the restaurant to sit wherever. This same scenario happened last time. No one bothers greeting you at the door. It they just want people to sit where they want, remove the "please wait to be seated". Very professional. Service is just terrible here. You're barley greeted. When they come to the table they don't speak but rather just stand there. They seem to be so uninterested is even being there. I'd you don't want to be a server, DON'T. The ambiance is still kinda cool but the music is loud and they don't speak loud enough to be heard. My biggest issue with this place is the service. Just do better. It's a bit overpriced for quality. So far; the best thing on the menu is the salmon nigiri and the punk rock roll. The appetizer sampler isn't bad either. Get some people who care about being here. Who care about making the whole experience at this place more enjoyable. read more

I am never one to turn down sushi. The menu offers a wide set of options making it almost impossible to choose with how good everything sounds. The atmosphere is fantastic too, with the televisions playing music videos that sometimes make me and my family laugh! The prices tend to be a little higher than I would expect for Sushi and a side of rice. I have had a few issues with the service when needing something and then unable to find a server, but I don't believe it is something that should deter anyone. I recommend when you are wanting a small splurge and some sushi! read more

Overall experience was pretty good. Not the best sushi place ever and a little overpriced IMO, but food was good and server was friendly to my family (with 1 kiddo). The fried wontons were a little under and not much filling inside- tasted good though. What we call "sushi" rolls were on par with local Asian restaurants around H'ville. TERRIBLE SERVICE! The servers stare at you as you walk in, tell you to sit anywhere, and then the staff just continues to hang out on their phones at the bar. They honestly seemed bothered they had to come give us menus and take our order. We ordered 2 sushi rolls (both the same).. rolls came out and when we were eating them they clearly had red tuna when we ordered spicy tuna in our rolls. Had to flag them down to ask if this was spicy tuna and they took the roll back to the chef and when the roll came back they said it was Spicy tuna. (Don't really believe they even took it back to the chef) Fast forward to the check.. PLOT TWIST, IT WAS RED TUNA, and we had to pay $7.90 for this substitution. When we told our server that's not what we ordered, she just said "oh" and didn't offer to make it right. We were regular customers of this place but it seems like we were played a bit and we won't be back until they get they fix their service issue. read more

Pretty embarrassing. Had 1 server and a shadower running the entire dinner service, they were great, did their absolute best given they had zero help. One guy standing behind the counter only handling the occasional to go order and just telling people to sit wherever they like while food sits in the window behind him. But that's beside the point. Appetizers came out good and timely, but the entrees were a whole other story. There were two of us, and we ordered a chicken hibachi and sushi rolls. Took about 30 minutes to come out. When they did, the rolls were sloppily made because they fell apart when picked up with chopsticks, and were absolutely drenched in sauce. The hibachi was cold to the touch. It seemed like it had been sitting in the window probably for 10 minutes. When we sent it back to be heated up, I came back out the same temperature as it was before of not colder. Waitress was really apologetic and ended up comping it and offering to get us something else, but at that point we were just ready to go. The waitress and her shadower were great, unfortunately no one else in the restaurant seems to be tuned in. They saw me as well, but they were talking to each other so I decided to look at the menu that's near the front until someone was free. After looking at the menu for a few of minutes, I noticed the two girls had now sat down on the stools in front of me and were showing each other something on a phone. So I stood there a little while longer, hoping to be helped but they didn't even bother to look up anymore. Was craving sushi and decided to give this place a try. I'm glad we did. The food was awesome and the service was very good. It has a rock and roll theme inside the building. It make you feel like you are at a concert while you are eating your meal. Me and my husband ordered the chicken and shrimp hibachi meal and 2 sushi rolls. The tempera shrimp and the spicy tuna roll. Our food came to out table in a timely manner, fresh,hot , and delicious. The rolls were very big and the hibachi meal had very large portions and was reasonably priced. Spent 130$ on Togo sushi and when I came to pick up no one greeted us and we waited around 15-20 with no interactions until we asked a server to verify we were in the right place for to go orders and were told that we were hit they were "busy" whilst we watch three girls chatting next to all the to go orders and one server with the three tables sat in the restaurant. When we were finally asked our name and the girl grabbed our bag it was the one sitting there the entire almost half an hour wait. Furthermore our bag was just handed to us without a word about payment or anything at all and we had to ask about paying for our food. 0/10 service and even witness an angry customer walking out who seemed to have a similar experience. Absolutely worst service... not once, but twice. The only two times I've been there. Myself including two other tables had to console our waitress as the head waitress was yelling at her as she was trying to take our order IN FRONT OF THE WHOLE RESTAURANT!!! Oh, and it was her first night working. She is only 15, she told us. As she was standing at our table trying to take our order, another waitress came behind her to tell her all the wrong things she was doing. I looked at our waitress and said, oh my gosh why do they keep yelling at you and they're not even letting you take our drink order, (poor thing like absolutely defeated) and she ran to the bathroom to cry. As I was telling the two atrocious waitresses how ugly and unprofessional they were being, a guy sitting at the bar area by himself got up and said, you got that right, and walked out. My 1st experience with them was about 2 and a 1/2 months ago and we literally had to go up to the bar and get our own drinks refilled. The same headwaitress that I speak of, which I believe is the owner's girlfriend or wife, who was visiting the restaurant at this time so all employees gathered around her, not paying attention to the two tables occupied, came up to our table and took the menu out of my hand as I was trying to order. She said I wasn't allowed to have the menu while food was on the table; appetizers. Tonight I didn't order any food, as if they were going to let us order anyway, HA! We were absolutely disgusted.
