I was craving AYCE sushi and being that we just moved here, I went to the ends of the internet to find the best rated one. A 40 minute drive led us to Sushi Kingdom. The interior was really neat, I couldn't figure out what was here before or if this was an original build...but the rocks, brick, and wood was cozy. It had the vibes of a bathhouse but this could have easily been a bbq or pizza joint in the past...or neither...or both. I have no idea but I loved how unique it was. Our waitress was calm and quiet, I don't know if she wanted to be there but she was attentive and nice. We went at 11:30am on Memorial Day right after they opened. It was an all-day dinner menu due to the holiday which was fine by us. It is $29.95/pp for the dinner menu. There were a lot of booths already taken but the restaurant wasn't super busy. When ordering, you tell your waiter what you want each round. We never had any issues with waiting for ours to come back to order more food and our drinks were always filled. For all you can eat sushi, this was pretty decent and the fish was fresh. The kitchen menu items were okay. The gyoza was really good and the pad Thai was alright, very mediocre but still good, just not authentic (I've never seen lemon with pad Thai, only lime). My husband ordered the hibachi chicken and it only came with chicken, no rice. The miso soup was flavorless. For the sushi, everything we had was really good and I especially enjoyed the Pac-Man roll and the Out of Control roll. Do beware that most of the rolls at Sushi Kingdom come with cream cheese, which I feel most AYCE sushi places add this abomination to their rolls. However, we enjoyed all of our rolls even if some had cream cheese. Their sashimi came in large slices so that was really nice! You get 10 pieces of sashimi per person, any more than that and it's $1 up-charge per order. Overall, Sushi Kingdom is pretty solid if you're looking more for quantity over quality. Sushi kingdom is a all you can eat sushi and japanese restraunt. It's very nice inside, and cultural. Maybe a little dirty. The system they use is a little complicated but once you get used to it, it's pretty fun. The waiter comes and asks what you want, called "rounds". You can get anything you want from the menu, and it tells you the limits per round. The price is around $30 for dinner and around $20 for lunch. The lunch menu is smaller. The service has always been alright, nothing too special. If you come when it's super busy, the service can be very limited. You might have to wait 5-15 minutes for your food because of how busy it is. Other than that, waiters are pretty nice. I went for an early bday celebration and I LOVED it. To say I ate like a pig would be an understatement. It's an all you can eat place but you are served the dishes. The food was perfectly prepared on all of the items I ate. My greedy self only took a couple of pics but I know I ate 3 rolls, hibachi, soup and more. They even brought me bday cheesecake and a song. The servers were so nice and definitely were hopping to get all of the orders at my table lol. The decor is cool they have lots of TVs and a full bar. Been here a handful of times now. We love the place for what it is. There is a variety of picks to try off the menu. No one will be left hungry, even if you don't like sushi. The food is delicious overall. Just like any other place, certain things are tastier than others. I have yet to find a special roll I do not like. The Mexican and Lava roll are on top of my list. Their appetizers, soups, salads can't be missed either. Every time we've been here we seem to get a different server. For the most part the service is gentle, kind, and amazing. Admittedly better than the Chinese buffet sushi but it shouldn't be compared to quality sushi restaurants, which expected, though a let down. $30 was a bit much for 'alright' taste. Kids price was $18 based on height. My kid's allergic to seafood and was charged $12 but still I think we would have been better ordering something else outside due to cross contamination. The two pieces of nuggets were fried hockey pucks, plain fries, and fried Oreos were split in half. The bright side, it's a made to order buffet. There are plenty of filler options: soup, salad, other appetizers. There were also hibachi options. I didn't order any but good to know if you didn't want just sushi. Food presentation was decent. Service was great! Fast/friendly. The restaurant building was old, paint wear n tear. Needs some more TLC. Plenty of parking. Plenty of seating. Gender separated restrooms with changing table present in the larger stall. Weirdest thing I saw, they had a "free" container of used or forgotten sippy cups/bottles. He didn't hesitate to give me his recommendations from the menu items and must watch tv show. I really enjoyed the food and his service. They have a big dining area with booth and tables. They also have a bar area but both times I've been haven't been in use. The second time was not that pleasant. We went for dinner. We got there about 1.5 hours before closing time and we had to wait quite long to be seated. They were NOT full. Servers came by looked at us but never "acknowledged" us. They just kept walking. We finally got seated and this time we had an Asian server, unfortunately she didn't speak enough English to understand basic questions even about the menu. All you can eat sushi and Japanese cuisine with some Chinese food options as well. It's a great idea for the gluttonous. I have been a few times here at this point I do not regret it. I don't make it a regular habit because obviously I can't partake in everything due to my pregnancy, but that doesn't stop me from enjoying what I can. It's a good place to go if you want to not eat for 3 days after you've ate from Sushi Kingdom. It's one of those places that doesn't serve amazing high quality sushi, but I'll also say it isn't terrible. It's always fresh, and that is a win in my book. Service has always been good, too! I was too intrigued by Sushi Kingdom so I got my partner and some good friends to come try it with me. (We've been twice now ) TL;DR - great food and fantastic service for the price Full review - As someone from a coast, sushi in Nashville always makes me nervous. I have the places I like and don't really like to give new spots a chance, especially when they're AYCE. I kept seeing the posts and prices for this place here and on Google and it was just too good of a deal not to at least give it a chance. Service was 5 out of 5 stars. Our waitress, Freya, was SO kind and sweet. She also came by SO often. We were never without food coming to the table for as long as we wanted it to keep coming. Ambiance was great! Super welcoming and comfortable. Value was 5 out of 5 stars. Just with nigiri and sashimi we ate, we would have spent $100+ elsewhere before we even got to try rolls or apps. Quality was probably around a 3.5 out of 5 on sushi and 4 out of 5 on hot food from the kitchen. It's not the best sushi I've ever had but it was fresh and tasty and the price can't be beat. The shrimp tempura, hibachi shrimp (not pictured), tha jalapeno bombs (not pictured), and the tempura Oreos were fire though. So tasty. They have some rules that I found interesting but wasn't put off by. There's a 10 pc sashimi limit per person BUT then additional pieces are just 75 cents each which is also a steal. No limit on nigiri pieces, just a limit on how many you can order at once. Something that I really liked is if you order something that you can't finish, you can take it home so it isn't wasted. You do have to pay for it but I hate nothing more than restaurants who will make you pay for something just to throw it away and waste it because they don't want to let you take it home. We've been needing something better than some other AYCE spots so overall, I was a big fan, and I will go back! read more
