Dim lights, casual vibes, friendly staff and good food. The food menu is larger than I was expecting which was nice because they had lots of different types of things to eat. I ended up being focused on the ramen section and figured I'd try something new. I got the crazy noodles which had an addictive sweet and spicy sauce with perfectly cooked chicken and noodles.

Chicken Curry Katsu Dinner, too much food & so good

Been coming here frequently since I moved to Goodlettsville from south nash back in 2019. Has always been decent Asian fare with a focus on Japanese & Korean cuisine. One of those rare places that has seemingly gotten better with time. Pre Covid before the remodel I would've rated it a 3 due to being nothing special food wise but over the last few years it's been remodeled & the food has gotten very consistent & pleasing. Ramen is okay here but I often get a katsudon or katsu curry combo which has tons of food for the price & it is good. Service is good too. Sushi decent as well. Solid option in the area & if you need a ramen fix

We love this restaurant! We went around 7pm on a Wednesday, and were seated right away. The service is excellent and they are very attentive. I ordered the chicken teriyaki bento box and my husband got beef bulgogi bento box. When I say it's a bunch of food, trust me! There's sooooo much! Each box comes with your choice of 4 rolls, we both got the California roll, veggie and shrimp tempura, soup and salad, two crab cream cheese rolls, rice and your entree. All of the items were delicious! It was so much food, that we took all of our many entrees home. The leftovers were delicious too! The restaurant has plenty of parking, and a decent amount of tables. There is seating around the sushi bar too! We will be back!

We really enjoyed this place. The outside doesn't really give you an idea about the vibe, but the inside is darkened and nice. Tables only that I saw, and a counter. The server was very nice and attentive. The food was extremely good. We'd go back.

    Bibimbop and Steak Teriyaki Dinner

The service was 10/10, I had the yum yum sushi roll , very delicious! My entree was Bimimbap, my korean grandmother makes this for me and honestly no complaints, the portion was 2-3 meals in one bowl. You can never go wrong with their teriyaki steak and fried rice either:) We've always gone to the Gallatin location for their Korean Hibachi , we never knew there was one in Madison, but we will definitely be back:)

The sweetest of the sweetest people work here. I am in town for a visit and I came here for dinner. I ordered the salmon tataki and agedashi and both were so good and hit the spot. My only regret was accidentally dropping my sake cup which made the entire restaurant gasp. It was empty and I rested it on top of the sake bottle and it fell off. Sad face on that. But happy face on the food, the service, the people, and the entire restaurant for being so sweet and accommodating.

While this Sapporo location is much more convenient for me, I will go out of my way to visit the Gallatin location. The service is much faster and friendlier in Gallatin for one. The ambiance in the Madison store is, is, is, ...... just gross. This is my second visit and I just feel gross while there. It's not warm or welcoming . It's kinda dirty. I feel like I'm bothering them when I visit. The "host" will give you menus and point to a table and say "sit". Then you sit there for 15 mins until you're looking around for service. Someone will then come to the table and take your entire order. Having a drink or munching on and appetizer before ordering is not an option. The quality and taste of everything is better in Gallatin location , as well. The Crab ISO is one of my favorites and it's just been ruined for me by the Madison store.

Nice restaurant , clean friendly staff and the food was great considering we're in Tennessee. We had a yellow tail collar and 4 different sushi rolls. Kimchi roll, salmon skin roll, spicy yellow tail roll, eel cucumber roll and octopus nigiri. All ver good! So what are you waiting for? Ask for Bailey she is the bomb and knot her stuff!

I had a great time at Sapporo. It was my first time. The food was great. The menu is expansive and full of variety. I love that there was a lunch menu on Saturday, total bonus. Due to the lunch rates ($6.99 for 2 rolls with soup and salad) I ordered a lunch meal as my appetizer. I got the snapper and salmon rolls, miso soup, and salad (ginger dressing was fire)! I also had a large sake!! It was warm and awesome. For the meal I got the miso chicken ramen. Obviously this was a huge meal and I took majority home. My friends got a roll each (911 and coco rolls) theirs were awesome. They also got and loved the pork miso ramen and spicy beef miso ramen. Overall I can't wait to go again and try something else. I will definitely go again.

Sapporo is a great place that I like to stop and get ramen while working in the area. The food is always good and the service is quick. Nothing but good things to say about this place

    Watered down, mushy ramen

I ordered the miso ramen add beef. Ramen can put extra bland, over cooked (mushy noodles), and wasn't "dressed". I had to ask for toppings and was told by my server they don't usually plate the noodles like the menu picture. That was weird! The miso broth was very watered down. Honestly pretty disappointed, I could've done better at home with .50 cent pack of ramen. Not joking!!! I also had spicy crab and spicy tuna rolls. They were both good and adequate for the lunch price of $7.99 for both. Place has been remodeled since I was last here and the layout is open. They get 3 stars because I've eaten here in the past and this is a 1st so I'm hoping this was just a one time miss.

We got the onigiri to start and was able to add an extra piece since we were a group of 4. For food our table got the chirashi bowl, the curry rice, chicken katsu sandwich and the creamy bacon udon. The three different onigiri were all delicious and different but our favorite was the yaki since the grilled rice added such a depth of flavor with the cod roe. The seasoning they serve on the side is great too. My chirashi bowl even though it was "mini" ate like a full meal. They really put a good amount of rice and salmon. Very well seasoned and everything tasted fresh. The curry rice was a very large portion and the curry tasted homemade. The chicken itself was the thigh and tasted like it had been marinated before being breaded so it was flavorful even without the curry.

My favorite was the Yaki so much flavor and you can taste the grill! For an entree, I got the Curry Rice which came with a chicken katsu. The portion was very generous which I appreciated. Chicken had so much flavor and had a nice crunch. The curry had a nice smooth flavor with small bites of potato and carrots. Highly recommend checking this place out!

Food prep was pretty good, but no showmanship. And that is why one goes to a teppan restaurant. Now, let's talk about the sushi. If you are going to serve sushi, you should make an attempt to do it well. If not well, then decent. Ours was neither. We had a California Roll, and my daughter ordered sake nigiri. The Cali Roll was heavy on the rice and light on the filling. This restaurant has the nerve to bring out ONE piece of salmon nigiri and call it an order. I have NEVER been brought a SINGLE piece of nigiri sushi anywhere, EVER!! The restaurant is on the smaller side with a mix of table seating and counter seats overlooking the kitchen. I'd definitely recommend making a reservation because it filled up quickly. Even though the restaurant was packed, the noise level was perfect--we could still have a conversation without shouting. The bar service for drinks was a little slow, but the staff kept us updated throughout and were incredibly friendly. Everyone was hustling--they handled check-ins, took orders, ran food, and kept everything moving despite how busy they were. The food completely exceeded my expectations. The ahi toast and seared yellowtail were absolute must-orders. Both had incredible flavor, and the fish practically melted in your mouth. The cucumber salad was fresh, flavorful, and a great appetizer while we waited for our drinks. The dumplings took quite a while to come out (they actually arrived after our hot pot), and while they were tasty, they weren't nearly as memorable as everything else we ordered. The shabu shabu was outstanding. We chose the miso broth with the NY strip, and the portion was huge! There was more than enough food for the three of us to happily share, and everything was fresh and delicious. Our cocktails were excellent and well worth the wait. Overall, Kosho delivered a fantastic dining experience with amazing food, friendly service, and a fun atmosphere. We'll definitely be back!

A good amoutn of tables, but does not feel too crowded. To get Shabu Shabu, you either sit at the bar or you grab a table that is condusive to shabu shabu. If you have multiple people ordering shabu shabu with different broths, you should grab the bar. The New York strip is better than the short rib, in my view. I did the miso broth, which is not overly salty, like some. A definite win for me. Adding in the spicy chile oil, fresh garlic, and scallions added the proper kick to the broth. The handroll was truly a handroll. She said she preferred when they sent it out rolled, as there was more rice than she normally likes. But the salmon itself was done well and tasty. The lamb lollipops were excellently done. I would return for this alone. Having numbers on the drinks is likely authentic, but I love creative names. The 35 is a Japanese twist on an Old Fashioned. The sishito pepper is a nice touch as a garnish (or appetizer?). The 34 was even better. It did not quite hit the high note of a similar drink at Sushi-San, but it did not disappoint. I can safely recommend this to anyone wanting to get shabu shabu without the all you can eat buffet option you get at shabu shabu on West End.

We started off with a round of champagne and a bottle of red wine for dinner. We tried a variety of dishes since we were told that the set up is family style: Hamachi Crudo: 10/10 one of the best I've ever had! Super fresh and the sauce paired well with it. Bluefin Tune Crudo: 8/10 It was really fresh and well prepared, but I've had better elsewhere. I typically prefer bluefin tuna sashimi or nigiri anyway. Tuna Crispy Rice: 9/10 This was such a fun and delicious way to eat spicy tuna! All of the seasonings made it packed full of flavor. Tomahawk Ribeye 9/10: This was insanely tender, and well seasoned. Tip: ask for lemon wedges to sprinkle some lemon juice on it--thank me later. Broccolini 8/10: well prepared, and I loved the lemongrass garlic chili that topped it East Side Shrimp 7/10: These were well cooked and well seasoned. Loved the salad placed underneath it. Wagyu Tartare 8/10: It was well prepared and loved that it's paired with nori and rice. Wished it had a bit more punch to it in terms of seasoning. Crab Fried Rice 8/10: this was delicious but still say it's a solid 8. Beautifully prepared! Korean Hot Wings 2.5/10: I could tell that it was well cooked, but it was insanely salty; it was practically inedible. Hurricane Fries 9/10: These were so delicious! You are immediately hit with the smell of truffle, which made my mouth water. Packed with flavor! Brussels 7/10: These were well roasted, but the sauce was a tad too sweet for my liking. The food itself was absolutely delicious. There was nothing we ordered that I did not like. Some favorites include the burnt ends lettuce wraps and Korean chicken wings. The Sando, shrimp and tuna crispy rice was also spectacular. The tuna was so flavorful and refreshing on the tuna crispy rice. The sauce of the east side shrimp really makes the dish.
