My family and I decided to try this restaurant out on a Friday night. We were able to be seated right away and found the service to be quick, despite it being a Friday night. The waitress explained how the menu worked and the rules for how many items you can order at a time. We never felt like we had to follow up on items that we ordered while we were there or had items that never made it to the table. The quality was great and the portion sizes were also great too! This is perfect for someone who is wanting to try different/ new items that they wouldn't want to get a full sized roll of otherwise.

I really enjoyed my experience. They did a wonderful job retrofitting an old Chinese restaurant to have to many traditional Japanese features that made you feel set apart and cozy no matter where you were sat. Everything that I ordered was delicious, our server was incredibly sweet and attentive, and I felt that we were not rushed out of an all you can eat menu. I'm always so pleased to have a nice hot house sake.

Stopped by Japan House for a quick lunch. This restaurant is a buffet and has so many great options to choose from if you enjoy Japanese food. When you arrive there is plenty of parking in front of the restaurant. I would recommend grabbing a reservation if you are headed for dinner as it can be a bit busy. When you walk in it feels like you are transported to Japan. There's a gong and drum up front that you can hit as well as a transformer. After walking in you'll check in with the host to be seated. Once seated a server will come by your table and you'll place your orders with them (up to 5 orders at a time/person). We ordered so many dishes from the miso soup, to the seared salmon belly, to the shrimp fried rice, to the shrimp & veggie tempura. This is definitely a great value for all of the food you can order and can't recommend this place enough. If you are in North Richland Hills, definitely stop by this week restaurant.

I've gone here so many times, everything is always fresh and the atmosphere is nice and calming. Kim is a great server and it's a well managed restaurant. I will definitely be back!

Sushi can be quite expensive wherever you might go, but Japan House has created a great experience with a tasty and affordable AYCE menu. The decor inside definitely give Japan vibes with lanterns and bamboo elements displayed all around the restaurant. There's even private rooms where you can be seated with groups of 6 or more. The food comes out fresh and beautifully plated, a cute cat robot will deliver your food but a server will set it on the table for you. However, there is a five item limit per order per person to avoid food waste, but it is unlimited rounds. The servers are more than accommodating for extra orders and remove dirty plates. Love their lunch menu, and for a bit more you can enjoy dinner that includes red items like sashimi and specialty rolls.

Japan House is an all-you-can-eat sushi restaurant. While there are some competitor within this niche like Sushi Soho, Japan House is my favorite. Their lunch vs dinner menu is slightly different; offering more premium items such as sashimi, papper tuna tataki, beef short ribs, some premium rolls, and riceless rolls (wiill be in red print on their menu) their lunch menu is nothing short of amazing still! For lunch, they still offer nigoro options. But our favorite is their Seared Salmon and Tuna Towers. The salmon is cut into pieces similar to its m Nigiri counterpart but is subjected into a quick searing process that imparts an additional unique flavor and texture on the seared side. It is then served wrapped around thin threads of cucumber that is super refreshing and dressed in a light ponzu sauce. It's rare to see this at any other Japanese sushi restaurants. A must try! The staff are very friendly and will quickly seat you. There is a limit of five orders per person at a time to help minimize food waste due to over ordering. Veteran servers will probably let you get away with ordering over the usual limit it if you order with enthusiasm and confidence. The space is lovely and well decorated with Japanese themed furniture and ornaments. You'll love the way the place is set up. There are tables and booth options. Personally, the booths are better if you're in a smaller group for the benefit of a larger table top and comfortable seating. There is also 2 tatami rooms in the back that you can request for and try for a fun experience! A definite return on countless occasions!

Micky was an exceptional server today. She had our orders ordered and out quickly. She came by often which is very helpful. We were in a bit of a rush today. Food was very tasty. The seaweed salad is always a favorite.

Very nice! The food is awesome, great ambiance and staff incredible. I highly recommend this spot!

We are on a sushi kick this week so another amazing place to get the fix but not breaking the bank. For $22 during weekday lunch, you can order as many sushi as you want. They make sushi to order so your rolls and nigiris aren't just being mass produced and waiting for you on the line unlike other sushi buffet. Not just sushi but the calamari and tempuras are made to order as well. I believe lunch hours are from 11am-230pm. Service is efficient. You can be in and out there especially if you are on your lunch break.

If I could eat here every day, I would. The service is always great, the food is fresh, and the restaurant always plays nice music!

We usually love Japan House and everything it offers, we came in on Labor Day which could explain the change but our food wasn't the best, our rolls which were usually crunchy were chewy and hard and it wasn't the same. Our waiter however was absolutely amazing and attentive and the review doesn't reflect him at all!

Ask the Community - Japan House

Is this an all you can eat place?

    Yes

If one person is ordering AYCE, does everyone at the table have to order AYCE?

    No.

    Can you do custom rolls?

I am sure as they were very accomodating. There is a long list of rolls and I am sure you can edit one of them.

    How much is the dinner?

I want to say it's about 30 or 35 dollars a person. For us it was worth it just for the appetizers and small entrees. The sushi was nothing to write home about, but everything else was what made it worth it. And it's all you can eat.

Can you come by yourself or do you have to have 2 or more people?

    You can go alone!

    Do you take reservations?

They only take reservations for parties of 6 or more. 5 or less, they will not take a reservation.

Hello, What age is included in the kids price and how much is the kids meal price? Thanks in advance

It definitely felt like a family restaurant, I'm sure there are people who come regularly. We loved having all the meat cuts available, rather than paying extra for premium cuts. I loved the tender prime rib and juicy lamb. Some of the meats were a bit tough, and the beef rib was a bit chewy, but everything was tasty. The grilled pineapple was generous, but a little tart.. I think I'm used to a heavier coating of sugar. The shrimp mix and marinated mushrooms in the salad bar provided the perfect palate cleansers between the heavy meats. We finished off the night by splitting a slice of tres leches cake that was divine! I'd definitely recommend that if you want a little something sweet

Seating is a little cramped between tables, salad bar is still limited for vegetarians. I get that it's a steakhouse but it would be nice to have more vegetarian options where it'd be worth it for any vegetarian to go. Maybe add smoked salmon to the salad bar with a few other vegetarian friendly options & more fruit choices? Their pork tenderloin with parmesan was also dry, that was the consensus amongst our entire party. Lobster bisque was a bit thin. Service is amazing, everyone there was so polite & attentive. We were frequently checked upon, our glasses were never halfway empty, & we never had a need for anything because of it. From the salad bar, the chicken salad & pasta were excellent. Mashed potatoes & Brazilian bread were also good. Aside from the pork tenderloin, the remaining cuts of meat were well worth it. The waiters were generous with portions, often asking if we needed more than one piece at a time. Get the chimichurri & the horseradish sauces to compliment some of the meat. We really liked how nothing was overly salty, often we've had that issue at other places but not here. I would go here for two things alone... the cajun picanha & the grilled pineapple. Hands down, the best picanha I've ever had! The grilled pineapple, absolute perfection. Add them to your list, this is a must. I didn't even get any photos at the table because we were too busy enjoying our dinner.

The meat is equal if not better than Texas de Brazil but that could be because when i went to Tex de Brazil it was suuuuper busy. The meat at Chama was perhaps a bit more memorable due to being hotter/fresh off the grill vs having made its rounds more. This is the one major thing that was missing from Chama: the mint chutney. That is a standout item at Tex de Brazil and given the fact that both serve multiple types of lamb, it was deeply missed at Chama. Idk im just a condiment junkie but idc how well the meat is seasoned and how high the quality (and Chama is unparalleled in both of those areas) i prefer to have some type of sauce for dipping. Ambience couldnt be better. Beautiful building and entrance, gorgeous lighting fixtures, just a really beautiful upscale experience Service was absolutely phenomenal. My mom preferred Chama Gaucho to Texas de Brazil by a long shot, worth noting. All in all, its tied for the number one placeholder for the best meal I've had in my life. I asked for no spice on the pad Thai and mild spice in the soup and noodle salad. But the pad Thai got all the spice. AND I MEAN SPICY! My daughter was sad at first but powered through and enjoyed it and cleared her sinuses while she was at it LOL. Simple mistake, and lesson learned to make sure everything I order in the future is at the no spice level. The crab Rangoons are thin, delicate and crispy- the filling was slightly sweet and delicious. Very good with the sweet and sour sauce that comes with it. The egg rolls weren't our favorite but they were still tasty. Just not so crispy as we would have liked. The soup was exactly what my cold needed! It cleared my nose instantly. The show stopper was the yum woon sen salad. My daughter and I fought over leftovers. It's the perfect balance of sweet, salty, and sour. A new favorite for sure! We will definitely be back to try other dishes and support this local gem!
