I've been holding off from coming here because the previous place which was called Magic Spring Roll was disgusting. I was wary that it might be same owner, change of name but it is different!! Thank god. Shrimp Pad Thai $13.95 - this was alright, saucy and kind of undercooked noodles. Too much of the sauce which made it too sweet and sour. Shrimp was good, 5 pieces to an order, okay sizing. I do like the scramble eggs on top as garnish. Overall not the best but decent for the price and location. Overall 3/5 Chicken Green Curry $12.95 - This one was massive, probably the biggest curry portion I've seen around here and they are not cheap on the meat! Great flavor, good curry, love the bamboo shoots and the additional green beans. I love curry, I came here just for this but didn't want to order just one dish. I will come back to try the other curries! I can't wait 5/5 Durian Ice Cream $4.95 - Pretty good, you can taste the chunk of ice, so it's pretty homemade. Was missing the sweet sticky rice, so they gave to me on the side. Good portion of ice cream for $5. The peanuts on top go well with it. This is next to some church and they had their sermon going on the whole time from 6:30-8:30pm. Small place, I think it's good for Watagua area. Their door is kinda dingy, opens randomly sometimes and doesn't close well. I had to walk up sometimes to close the door or my food would have been cold. Overall good service and good food. Great food! We came on a weeknight. It was consistently busy and no table avail. We only waited about 15 mins. They had one young guy in the front working and two ppl in the back cooking, I think husband and wife and their kid. It did seem like it is busy and the were trying to catch up with dishes and clearing tables. But they were very nice. The food is great ! My hubby loved his crispy garlic chicken. My pad see eww and tom kha soup was good. Our friends liked their dishes. The spring roll was so so. Thai tea good. Very affordable and great food ! Would come here again and support them ! Originally Magic Spring Roll location. Was happy to see Arun Thai on tik tok recently and decided to give it a go. It's a very small eatery with 6 tables and 16 seats available. Family owned and operated wife in the kitchen and hubby working the front. Very personable and friendly folks, it almost as your at home and Mom is preparing a favorite dish a real homey vibe for sure. We ordered the Pad Thai Beef and Chicken Pad Thai with Sticky rice for the finish Sticky Rice Mango. The servings were full plate and steaming hot spice level from 1-5 we played it safe at 2. Noodles were perfectly cooked and the ingredients were delicious. A small gem in the neighborhood that reminds you of days gone by. Wishing them nothing but success. We arrived right when they opened and there were already about five people ahead of us. I wanted to try the pork skewers, but they were already sold out due to a large online order--hopefully next time! For appetizers, we got the crab Rangoon and fresh spring rolls. The crab Rangoon was really good--the filling was meatier than most and not just packed with cream cheese, which we really appreciated. The fresh spring rolls came with a delicious peanut dipping sauce that we loved. My husband ordered the chicken Pad Thai (spice level 2) and said it was a bit sweeter than other Pad Thais he's had--next time he'll go for a higher spice level. I actually liked it a bit more than he did! I ordered the crispy garlic chicken with brown rice. It wasn't super flavorful, but it was still tasty and enjoyable. We also ordered two Thai iced coffees, and I absolutely loved them. The place itself is very small, with only two 4-person tables and four 2-person tables. You order at the counter, and they bring the food out to your table. The service was really great. One thing to note: if you pay with a card, there's no option to add a tip, so bring cash if you want to tip your server. "Run, don't walk!" is my rating for this spot. 5 stars for service & food. We had chicken curry puffs, pork egg rolls, crab fried rice, and green curry with tofu. All the food was freshly prepared in-house, including the sauces for the appetizers. Icing on my cake was that I got to try durian ice cream and it was delicious! Our waiter explained that when durian is cooked into a dish, the unpleasant smell disappears and only its amazing flavor remains. He was right! That ice cream was a bowl of creamy heaven. lol! This is a small, clean restaurant with very nice service and excellent food. Our server (possibly also an owner?) was very nice and answered my menu questions. I went with the green curry based on his recommendation, but I have a feeling that all dishes here are quite tasty. I grabbed a takeout menu and I'll definitely be back soon. I've been driving past this little mom and pop Thai spot on Watauga Rd for months. The colorful sign and the mexican home decor next door always catch my eye. Finally stopped in, and I'm so glad I did even after the viral video which recently all over my feed. I was scared it'll be very busy for a while. We enjoyed all of the items we ordered. This is also my first time trying Thai coffee so different from the Thai tea most of us are familiar with. This is actually my 2nd time this week to stop by since the first one I tried eating here it was so busy. There's a line of people trying to order and I understand that everything is cooked fresh and there was only one lady in the kitchen. So I decided to come back again on a different day. They have also adjusted their business hours. They close at 3pm to reset on days that they are open and re-open at 5pm just in time for a delicious Thai dinner. They have apparently went viral hence the reason they got so slammed. Patience is key here. If you want Thai food bursting with flavors this is where you can apply that. I've dined at Arun Thai several times now and each time the food has been outstanding. Especially like the drunken noodles and pork skewers.

I recently saw this restaurant featured in a social media video, but I live on the other side of the Metroplex, so when I had to run an errand in Watauga I immediately knew I needed to make a stop here too! The restaurant is very small and only has 6 tables, which are first come first served. My friend and I were luckily able to grab a seat right away. We ordered Crab Rangoon, Tom Kha soup, Pad Thai with chicken, and Pad Kra Pao. I think we were accidentally given Tom Yum soup because it didn't seem to have any coconut milk in it, but it was still delicious so we just enjoyed the happy accident! Crab Rangoon had lots of crab inside which was nice! Pad Thai was absolutely delicious, I also enjoyed trying their various chili paste/oils on it. My friend really liked her pad kra pao, I tried some of the meat and it was delicious with a great basil flavor. We both agreed we NEED to make a return trip in the future! This small business deserves all the success! Tip: also stop in to El Sol Mexican Imports which shares the parking lot. The ambiance is like you are at mom's home and you are getting a fresh home made meal....small but very welcoming. You can smell the wonderful aroma of other peoples food and it smells divine..There is a bit of a wait it is a small business but the wait is worth it.The couple that own this place are an older couple but are super nice and his wife is such an amazing cook . The food is fresh and of a good quality and portions are generous. The curry puff are fresh non of that frozen stuffs. The food was absolutely delicious! My husband said the crab Rangoon was the best he's ever had. The pork spring rolls and chicken satay were also fantastic. I ordered the cashew chicken with steamed rice, and it was so fresh and flavorful. My husband had the crispy teriyaki chicken with Thai herb rice, and it was even better than my dish! Our daughter ordered the fried rice, which she liked, but she mostly snacked on the appetizers and our meals--so her rice came home with us. I highly recommend this place! The hours on yelp are wrong; they are closed from 3 to 5 PM. There was a line of almost a half dozen people waiting to get in at 5 PM. The restaurant has minimal seating but takeout option is available. We tried the cashew, crunchy chicken, green curry, pineapple fried rice, and coconut ice cream. Everything was pretty good and fresh. The green curry was spicy. The crunchy chicken was a little salty for me, but my partner thought it was just right . The coconut ice cream tasted homemade and served on a bed of sticky sweet rice. I also do recommend the ginger peach iced tea and the Thai coffee. Prices were very reasonable, all entrées under $20 with most under $15 read more

I absolutely love this restaurant. The family who runs it is so incredibly kind and friendly, and the food is very authentic. Everything I've ordered so far has been extremely delicious (the chicken curry puffs and panang curry are my absolute favorites). So I was a teeny bit underwhelmed by what I ordered tonight - chicken satay, tom yum soup with shrimp and the crab fried rice. LOVE the chicken satay - it's always flavorful, tender and delicious. I was told they accidentally made tom kha (coconut milk is added to the broth) and was about to make me another soup. I offered to take the tom kha - I didn't want them to go through the trouble. This was a happy mistake. The soup had a good balance of flavors and the small was the perfect amount. The vegetables and shrimp were cooked perfectly. The coconut milk made it a little too sweet for my preference, but I would definitely recommend this if you love tom kha soup. The crab fried rice was so so for me. I like that fresh crab was used - the flavor was quite nice, and there was a good amount of egg and vegetables, which I like in fried rice. What was disappointing was biting a piece of crab shell with each bite. After 5 or 6 bites I gave up eating the rice. And being it's one of their more expensive dishes, it made this a frustrating dish to try and eat. This is one dish I won't be ordering again. With that said, I highly recommend the other fried rice and curry dishes. read more

This small little restaurant shocked us with the flavor & food quality. I wasn't expecting anything bad, but I wasn't expecting anything that good either!
