Came on a Sunday around 3 pm and it was pretty packed. I told them I was alone and didn't have a reservation, still got seated within minutes. The drinks order (and apps) was taken and delivered supper fast. All the staff were friendly and attentive. I went for the filet mignon and scallops hibachi- and for only 2 bucks I made my fried rice a chicken fried rice. Absolutely worth it! And all watered down with a couple of Sapporo beers. Our chef was funny and engaged the couple of kids seated on the table. The hibachi diner comes with salad (ginger dressing) and miso soup. Boy was I full! The rice, veggies, scallops and steak were super fresh, flavorful and cooked to a perfect point. The place is kept super clean, and they are fast when it comes to clean the tables too. I also found out that if you enter their club, every 5th visit you get a deal "free meal", basically. I'm excited this place is so close to my new home. I'm definitely coming back! read more

Decided to try Japan Inn after a horrible experience 27 years ago. No option for zero stars? Arrived to multiple dirty empty tables in our seating area that surprised us. We came here for my mom's birthday dinner, and and we were all so excited because we haven't had a real hibachi meal in forever! It was exactly how we remembered: multiple courses, an entertaining chef, and amazing food. We even had enough for leftovers! They also brought my mom a free brownie sundae for her birthday. I got the hibachi chicken and filet, and it was all flavorful, tender, and perfectly cooked. My only complaint is that when I received my salad, there was a hair right on the top of it that clearly wasn't mine. Our waitress apologized and brought me another one. Went here for lunch for a friend's birthday. As we all know, our lunchtime can be constraint especially if you go with multiple people. We did let the staff know of the short time frame that we had to eat. The staff advised us that it would be absolutely no problem that the food made pretty quickly and we would be fine to return to work on time. They were absolutely right as the service was exceptional. The chef was hilarious and also cooked really well. We had a great time for my friend's birthday and we're able to make it back on time. "Whiskers" was our hibachi chef joining for a birthday dinner event. He was fun, charismatic and entertaining. The food came out well cooked, well portioned and extremely tasty. As apart of the Hibachi dinner experience, you get an appetizer of salad, miso soup, and your entree of rice/protein/veggies. You'll more than likely have a to go baggie by the end of the night. The average price for hibachi per person was about 30/35$ ( dependent on what protein or combination of protein you selected. ). You can have members choose something that is not a hibachi dinner and order other items instead like sushi or pad Thai. They cook and serve the rice and veggies first and then last the protein of your choice. It can be tempting to start eating the rice and veggies as you wait, I recommend to wait until your protein is ready as that is the most costly part of your meal and it's best to eat it fresh and hot!! If you're a beef/steak person, I recommend getting the Filet Mignon over the regular steak as it makes a true difference. This was my first visit to Japan Inn' Weston location as I usually go to the Sunrise location. I liked this one a bit more as it seemed more spacious, modern and the plaza it sits in is very cute and you can take a nice walk looking at the other stores and businesses. read more

The front attendant Julio was extremely welcoming and friendly, even though I came alone I felt comfortable sitting with others. The chief poncho made the experience so fun and provided a great show as he prepared our delicious meal. On Saturday, we were at the Weston Town Center and craving sushi, so we decided to stop at Japan Inn. We were seated immediately, and the server promptly came to our table. I ordered the Tokio Roll, which was the roll that the server recommended, and it was delicious. It was a fried roll with toppings, and while both the roll and the toppings were great on their own, together they were amazing. Surprisingly, it was also quite filling. The server was attentive throughout our meal. During our time there, we saw the staff celebrating birthdays at two tables, and the way they did it was unique. Love this hibachi place. Reservations are recommended as it gets so busy especially on the weekends. We have always had kind servers and recently the manager went above and beyond to accommodate our 1.5 yr old daughter. They brought her practice chopsticks and ice cream. When I talked to the employee ordering the sushi there was no mention of do you want soy sauce, wasabi, ginger from the employee. I picked up my food from a dark restaurant with no customers. I asked if there was soy sauce. I was told there is soy sauce and spicy mayo. The bag was staples so I didn't open it until I was home . When I got home there was no spicy mayo , wasabi, or ginger . Repeat guest here that has had only positive experiences. Tonight however the Filet Mignon Steak had an off smell, as if it was on the verge of going bad. To make matters worse, the manager decided it was ok to start cleaning our hibachi burner as we were eating. He poured a cleaning solution on the burner table which emitted fumes and splashed up on one of the customers still eating. I asked him to wait until we were finished eating before cleaning. I'm currently sitting here at the restaurant as I write this review. From the beginning, the service was horrible. The bartender ignored me for the 15 mins I was waiting to get a drink. Our reservation was at 9, we didn't get seated until about 9:30 and it's now 10:10 and we still haven't started eating. My son order a tuna tartar as an appetizer, the tuna was fine but the chips, they were the round Tostitos chips and were super stale. Don't know what has happened to this place but it's definitely gone down hill. Save yourself the headache and go somewhere else. read more

When I come to eat a hibachi it's because I like to see a chef that enjoys the cooking experience and serving the people that wants to eat his food, but this dude was super depressed... once his boring performance was over and everyone got their equal share of proportions for some reason he underserved me? personally, I got the steak and scallops and in terms of protein like I understand is that's what he wants to give me small portions of, but it was pretty obvious that he also barely gave me any veggies as well? I sat there confused, wondering what in the world happened where he thought it was appropriate enough to underserve me, protein, and veggies? I LOVE Japan Inn so much. I come here ALL the time with my friends and boyfriend and it's always delicious. Today we have a new chef named JP/Jean Pierre and he was the BEST chef I have ever had. I have been here at least 10 times in the last year and every time was amazing but JP made my experience AMAZING. he was funny, he was interactive and honestly made some DELICIOUS chicken. I love the atmosphere and the gorgeous decor. JP had these super cool fire sticks and had a whole fire show that we have never seen and it was beautiful. The portions are large, the prices were in check and the whole staff was friendly and helpful. It's like a Benihana, so if you have been there, this is what you're going to get. I found the place a bit outdated and a slightly awkward smell in the restaurant, almost like aging carpet. There is plenty of parking and of all the Japan Inn's that I've been to, this one has been the favourite so far. It can get slightly hot inside as the air cannot keep up with the heat generated by the tables. Will get busy, especially on weekends so reservations are recommended. read more

Parking is easy as it's located at Weston town center plenty of parking spots. They have inside dining and outside dining. They have hibachi tables; however, we went for sushi and wanted to sit outside. Anthony was our server, this guy made the review. 5 star! We ordered: Chicken fried rice: Good taste and we'll cooked. Enough to share Alaska special roll: the seaweed on top makes this roll very unique and the flavor is perfectly mixed Spicy tuna roll: a bit dry; however the tuna was super fresh! We couldn't stop eating! Flamingo roll: the. Bomb. When ordering may seem it's a bit overwhelming but for people like who like mikes flavors this was more than perfect. It's also big enough to share and worth the $17 Sapporo beer: never bad, a good add on was the chilled mug Anthony brought in all rolls with spicy Mayo and eel sauce, which surprised me because I always have to ask for those things at other restaurants. Went in at 5:30pm on a Sunday night and were seated right away. We brought our 3 year old for "the show" and he absolutely loved it. Yordan was awesome, interacting with us and including my son. Slow kitchen, sorry menu, not acomading to vegans if you're not sitting at a habachi table, and not to mention poor AC. We decided not wait a half an hour for a habachi table so we opted to sit a a regular table. It was hotter then if we would of sat at the habachi table. First we tried to order avocado eggroll the kitchen told the server they were out of avocado. Not likely! The kitchen probably didn't want to be bothered to make it. Next the menu, the menu is about half of what it use to be, so many items not on the menu any more. The do have the habachi on the menu, they charge you the same as if you were sitting at the habachi table and it not the same. It's soup or salad, not both, no shrimp appetizer, and the fried rice is pre-made, has no vegetables and barely any egg in it.. (basically rice, butter and soy sauce) This would be fine if they weren't charging the same price for habachi at a regular table. I had chicken stir fry. It was ok. I've eaten better. The chicken pad-tie at the next table looked good. Now my wife had a hard time! See order a habachi table dish, vegetable delight. It was anything but delight! It fucking sucked! No zucchini! No tofu! Barely any mushrooms or broccoli!! The rice again, my wife asked for it to be made without any eggs or butter the kitchen wouldn't do it! All they had to do was have one of the habachi tables make it for them! I've seen them do that plenty of times when we sat at the habachi table.
