Wow wow wow! I secretly hope that I won't love a place when it's as pricey as Japon for fear that I'll become addicted. Unfortunately Japon was amazing lol. The service was very nice, the ambiance is great, and there's some acrobatic entertainment too. The steak and sushi were great. I definitely want to try more.

Had such a great experience here. The wagyu sliders were the highlight of the night -- incredibly juicy, tender, and full of rich flavor. The kind of dish that makes you pause after the first bite. Definitely one of the best sliders I've had in Miami. The service was just as impressive. Everyone was warm, attentive, and genuinely focused on making sure we had a great time. The pacing was perfect, and every recommendation was spot-on. The inside/outside feel is great. There is also a DJ and a few performances. Overall, an exceptional dining experience from start to finish.

This place is a gem! The octopus was so yummy. One of my favorite dishes wish the portions were a tad bit bigger. The fried rice was really good. They had live entertainment there. Very romantic setting perfect for a date night or special occasion. Dinner reservation is highly recommended. There is valet parking in a parking garage around the corner from the hotel.

Great time and excellent service (Kate & Hailey were phenomenal!) with a beautiful ambiance. I dined off the happy hour and Miami spice menus. The reason for the 4 star rating was the Miami spice menus fell short in my opinion. The main course fish needed a little bit more flavor and the pavlova dessert was overwhelming and a lot. I would go back for the happy hour menu, where I absolutely loved the sushi rolls. I would also go back to check out the regular menu. Be sure to check it out and enjoy!

Friendly service, well trained. Talented Thursday night show. They also had a hand roll special today that was $27 for three. A great deal when you're talking crab, lobster and toro. If you make it early, you can enjoy the happy hour which boasts both food and a selection of drink options. Quality place with great design, show, food and service. I would recommend and return!

    Special desert brought to us.

The food was absolutely incredible. We got the Shrimp Tempura, King Crab, and Mushroom Kimchi Noodles along with the "3 Peaks" sake. All of the food was delicious. We almost went back the next night because we enjoyed it so much. The service was also excellent with the sommelier providing great comments as we made our sake decision.

Really great food. Loved the cucumber salad and the sea bass. The pineapple rum cake was also great. Service was not great though. They didn't check in to refill water, etc. regularly, and it was really slow and hard to get the check and pay. Getting dessert was also slow. Nice atmosphere with the pool and at night they do have some little performances. They also have a DJ which I think later at night might be too loud and annoying.

japon shares the same space as jaya, where the beautiful center courtyard is split in half between jaya and japon. there is some indoor seating where the vibe is less chaotic, but i dont necessarily recommend the restaurant for the food alone. it is a nice thurs, fri, or sat night plan if you want some loud music, but dont want to actually go to a club. the miso black cod was great, the salmon sashimi was pretty good, though all their sushi comes dressed in sauces, so dont expect a traditional experience with their sushi.

I had the opportunity to eat here inside of the beautiful Setai during art Basel weekend. First when you walk in the ambiance is just amazing. It is very aesthetically pleasing. We had the first reservations of the night at 6pm. We were greeted and seated promptly. For the food I had the shrimp tempura sushi. And the salmon dish. The food was amazing. This is a spot you for sure have to visit when you are in town

Stepping into Japón feels like entering a sensory masterpiece. The experience begins at the entrance, framed by a dramatic torii gate, before revealing a lush courtyard adorned with a custom mosaic crane--iconic of Japanese grace and good fortune. Inside, the design dazzles: undulating wooden ceilings, gold-leaf accents, vintage woodblock art, and ambient paper lantern lighting transport you into another world.

The satai did it again! Loved my experience at Japon, really friendly staff and a beautiful small restaurant. The good was good, i honestly thought that it was going to be better but since it was miami spice I can't complain. Overall I had a great time!

We wanted sushi, and the place we originally wanted to go was a little too far to walk (and we…read moredidn't feel like taking an Uber because Spring Break traffic was absolutely ridiculous!) so we found this place on Yelp and decided to give it a shot. It was about a 10 minute walk from our AirBNB off Washington Ave and 12th. It was surprisingly empty, except for 2 other customers, so service was quick! Our server and sushi chef were pretty quiet, but that was okay. I loved the mural on the wall. We ordered a few different rolls including their special rolls, and everything was delicious! There was an additional 18% service charge on top of added in 20% automatic gratuity. Overall, happy with this sushi option in South Beach that we found on a whim.

I came in here after a night of looking at art and in search of a quick bite. I almost walked right past it, on the Monday night I went in there was no one in the restaurant. At first I thought it might have been closed. Once inside we were greeted right away and given menus. My friend doesn't really do sushi but she ordered the shrimp tempura roll and devoured it. I had the tuna Cali roll and I have to say it was fresh, simple, and delicious. The restaurant is rather small but gives a cozy feel. We sat at the sushi bar and got to see the chef masterfully prepare our rolls.

All I know is when it came to pay, I had to pay two separate bills to a business called Shimuja Ramen Stall 308 and a business called Iron Sushi, which is already super weird/ shady and confusing. So all's to say I am going to leave this review both here and on Iron Sushi. This was one of the worst "meals" I've ever had in my life. I had the Tokyo Shoyu, which had just two slices of 'pork belly'- even less than one of the buns I ordered-which really needed like pickled daikon or something to cut through it- it was just mayo (?)not even Asian Kewpie and lettuce (?) which just did not belong there. Sure it's fine to mix cultural ingredients but from this meal, I have a feeling that was not the intention. Back to the ramen- the broth had no depth whatsoever. Way too many noodles, that didn't even taste fresh. It was the cheapest ramen on the menu but even then I overpaid for this small bowl at 20$. My sister's meal looked pretty terrible and from what I tasted was incredibly overseasoned. The edamame were basically inedible unless you carefully popped the peas out of the shell but even then the salt on your hands after popping them out would shock the hell out of your taste buds. And the chicken yakitori were all fat somehow?
