    Cleared off water main for plumber to access

    Ive used Jarboes along with other plumbing companies multiple times as im in real estate. I called Jarboes on Saturday jan 31st 2026 due to a leaking bath tub faucet. The plumbing tech Drew S showed up, evaluated the leak, stated he needed to shut the water off to make the repairs. There was snow on the ground and needed to access the water shut off. He completely over looked the main shut off in the house. I asked for a few minutes to clear off the snow and Drew said it was my job to have it cleared off before he got there. With not knowing he would need access to the main shut off in the yard it wasn't clear. Drew was there a total of 10 minutes, refused to wait for me to clear off the snow and billed me $150 with zero work performed. He left, I went out in the yard and cleared off the snow, called jarboes back and drew said he would charge another $150 to come back out (same day), I didnt agree with the charge but needed the repair done so asked him to come back out. He then refused to come back out and told me to find another plumber based on me not wanting to be double charged. This is completely unprofessional and unacceptable. I then called Tom Drexeler and they came out in a timely manner and made the repairs. I tried to call and discuss this with jarboes customer service and there's zero support after the service is done if there's a issue. Out of all the plumbing companies in Louisville I would not recommend jarboes based on the poor customer service I received from drew along with NO customer service after the fact from the company

We weren't sure if it was coming from behind the tile wall or if it was just the faucet stems but another plumbing company came out yesterday and charged $99 just to tell us that we would have to hire a tile demo person to tear out the tile wall to the tune of $800 before they could even start to repair it. SMH But today Jason with Maeser was at our house within 30 minutes of our call and done with all repairs within the hour! And Maesers cost was less than half of the other company's quote! Not only that Jason was the most respectful kind man and he was obviously very knowledgeable. And he saved us from having to go to a hotel room tonight because we had no water. Jason graciously came in and treated my husband and I with respect and assured us he would take care of everything for us. He put our minds at rest which meant the world to us, especially being seniors. He definitely went above and beyond! Next up we are getting a bathroom remodel done and Maeser will be doing it of course! They even do garage doors! Please don't waste your time calling anyone else.     Property Damage Caused by Improper Installation of Emergency Sump Pump…read moreI am filing this complaint against Dauenhauer Plumbing regarding significant water damage to my basement that appears to have been caused by the improper installation of my emergency (secondary) sump pump by their company. On Sunday, March 8, 2026, I noticed that my main sump pump was running continuously without shutting off, which was abnormal. Because I had a newer emergency (secondary) sump pump installed as a backup, I unplugged the main pump to prevent possible damage and contacted Dauenhauer Plumbing to schedule an inspection for the following day. On Monday, March 9, 2026, at approximately 8:30 a.m., I heard an unusual sound coming from the sump pump area in my basement. When I investigated, I discovered water forcefully discharging from piping connected to what appeared to be the emergency (secondary) sump pump system. I immediately contacted Dauenhauer Plumbing, and a plumber arrived within approximately 30 minutes and stopped the water flow. According to the plumber who responded, the emergency (secondary) sump pump had been installed incorrectly. He also stated that he found nothing wrong with the main sump pump. He initially believed the discharge line might be clogged and cut the exterior line to inspect it, but there was no standing water in the discharge line. The plumber then stated that he believed the underground discharge line might be broken and offered to arrange excavation. Instead, I suggested a temporary above-ground discharge solution to move water away from the foundation. The plumber went to Lowe's, purchased flexible piping, returned, connected it, charged me for the materials and labor, and then left. As a result of this incident, my basement sustained water damage, including: Basement flooring saturated with water Drywall/sheetrock wet Insulation wet Possible defect or damage to the main sump pump I have photographs and video of the incident and damage. I have also contacted my homeowner's insurance company, State Farm, and they advised me to begin emergency mitigation with PuroFirst. That process is currently underway. I have made multiple attempts to contact management at Dauenhauer Plumbing regarding this matter and have not received a return call or meaningful response. Given the seriousness of the damage and the fact that their own plumber acknowledged the emergency sump pump had been installed incorrectly, this lack of response is unacceptable.
