When I asked about warranty coverage, he repeatedly insisted the equipment wasn't under warranty because it likely wasn't registered when we moved in seven years ago. He also pushed replacing our AC due to upcoming refrigerant changes (R‑410A), quoting $20-25K for both systems. Feeling unsure, I agreed to the furnace replacement and paid half upfront. Still uneasy, I checked the manufacturer's warranty myself. Within minutes, I confirmed the furnace was under warranty, 40 years on the heat exchanger and 10 years on the inducer motor. I called Classic to cancel and get a refund. It took two calls before a manager responded. He processed the cancellation but offered no apology or acknowledgment. To verify the furnace's condition, I brought in another reputable HVAC company. Their tech explained the supposed "crack" was actually a scratch, smooth not structural and the inducer motor noise was likely from slight imbalance. Neither issue required immediate replacement. He also noted their techs are paid hourly, not on commission. I can't say whether Classic's technicians work on commission, but I felt there was a strong incentive to upsell expensive replacements we didn't need (conflict of interest). Ryan was able to quickly diagnose the problem and fix it by putting the correct wire on the correct terminal. No parts required. I don't know if any other repair tech would have been so honest. This existing miss-wiring was causing costly problems in the house due to high humidity because the blower was running continuously. It could have easily caused at least $100 a month in more damage. As it was, it already has cost me several thousand in damages due to high humidity over the years before I bought the house. They had a technician at my house within 30 minutes. After checking my AC unit and determing it had plenty of Freon, he went up into the attic and found recently replaced Duckwork (by anothet AC company) had slipped off of the AC unit in the attic which was causing our AC not to cool the house. He indicated the new duckwork installed last year was too short and the installer had stretched it to the max which eventually caused the duckwork to seperate from the AC unit. He replaced about 6 ft of Duckwork, cleaned the grill on the outside AC unit and we were back in business with nice cool air
