Bad food, bad service. I ordered the Carnitas, very dry. When I brought it to the waitress's attention she took my plate away. I thought she was bringing me a replacement, nope. Meanwhile, we were done with our first round of drinks, nobody came to ask us if we wanted another round. So I had to go to the bar to ask for a second round. Bartender was very helpful and brought us more drinks. After waiting for 20 minutes for a waitress, I walked up to the bar where 4 employees were huddled and asked if there was a manager or someone who was interested in serving the customers. A person identified himself as the manager. He said he was aware of the issue with my food and was satisfied with his wait staff because we should find someone and ask for what we wanted. I'm not sure where he got his manager training, but if you have a table that is unhappy, a manager should engage. Offer to replace the meal, offer a discount, offer a dessert or something. Not at Jarrito Loco's. They take your meal, charge you full price, and give you attitude. I wish there was an option to give less than 1 star. We have tried other Mexican in the area (specifically a popular restaurant in P.L) and are just set on Jarrito Loco being the best and our favorite. We have gotten a variety of food (burritos, enchiladas, breakfast burrito, chips, fundito, salsa, etc) and everything is top notch and SO good. The service here is so friendly. Everyone is wearing masks and booths are spaced every-other one open/closed. Margaritas are legit (and happy hour on Wednesday's is a plus!). I am happy to support local businesses and hope to show Jarrito Loco that they are, in our opinion, the best! read more

Looks can be very deceiving. Don't let the repurposed exterior of this restaurant for you because what's inside is wonderful! The food is great the service is courteous, warm clean and very friendly. The new building is really nice inside but comes with a huge spike In prices . We are regulars and love the staff , drinks, and sauces . However I find the food to not to be worth the steep costs. We'll be back and support this place, but the prices certainly cause us to think twice before going . Highly recommend the margaritas, quest finding, and sauce sampler. This place is amazing! Our party of 12 was a bit unexpected so we had a longer wait during lunch on a Monday. But everyone voted this place 5 stars. I gave it 4 because of the long wait for our food. Our waitress was awesome. We had two guys that lived in Mexico for a few years in our group say that the food was authentic and the best they've had. Hole in the wall location, but that's typically what I look for when it comes to hidden treasures. I would rather ownership put money into the food and not the aesthetics. Upon seating, Maggie was very friendly, and pointed out the best sellers, and they did not disappoint. I ordered three corn tacos, one chicken and two carnitas. From the outside, the corn tortilla is delicious, followed by a lot of meat packed into these tacos. The flavor was fantastic on all three, I opted to add some red salsa that came with the very tasty tortilla chips, and that made it perfect. From the outside, no one would fault you for passing by, but if you want a decently priced and delicious meal, I recommend Jarrito Loco. read more

My wife and I have had meals at Jarrito Loco four times, with many more meals planned at this wonderful restaurant. I have lived in Colorado for over 35 years, as well as Santa Fe, NM--in all of that time I can say that this is one of my favorite places to dine. It is not Tex-Mex or Northern New Mexico flavors. These recipes come from a variety of areas in Old Mexico. My favorites include: Chuletas, Pozole, Salsa Sampler (a must), and the Chile Marineros with Pablano Chile Sauce (picture below). The Flan de Cajeta (with caramel sauce) and Empanadas are wonderful desserts. The really hot sauces are not on the menu (ask for hot peanut sauce). Small burrito, rice and beans were the best part. Chili relleno had cotija cheese-doesn't melt, thick and kinda yucky. Definitely not like any chili relleno I've ever had. Husband had 2 enchilada plate with beef and the weird cheese. Very bland and just ok. We unexpectedly stopped at a gas station near this restaurant and decided to eat here based off the reviews. Let me just say it was one of the best decisions we have made the food was amazing ! They had a special going on so my boyfriend and I both got the caldo de pollo it was soo good ! And the chips and salsa were a plus ! I decided to get a horchata and it was one of the best horchatas i have tried ! Probably even better than the ones from home! And to add to it the caldo was the perfect plate to get during a snowy day I was very pleased w my visit definitely going to recommend this place for people visiting near this area! 10/10 read more

Delicious food and very cozy atmosphere, the service was excellent. The dinner started off with some delicious ( I'm pretty sure they were homemade) chips and salsa and Horchata. We ordered the carne asada and spilt it between 3 people.It was delicious and big enough for all three of us. Prices were good as the bill was only $17 for 3 people. We went for dinner after they had been open for awhile. I ordered chiles rellenos and chicken enchiladas and a tequila cocktail. The chips and salsa they brought were very good. They brought me the wrong food, which I didn't realize right away but they corrected quickly. The service was good and fast. The food was just ok. I'm not sure what all the hype is about but maybe coming from another state has spoiled me when it comes to Mexican food. The first thing I noticed was the price was a little high for basic Mexican food averaging around $20 a plate. Their basic combo with an enchilada and taco was $19 and an ice tea or soda was $3.50. They list on their menu that the beverages listed below include refills except juice but when I asked for a refill on my horchata, I was told it was $2 per refill. The chicken fajitas was actually really good but the chicken flautas were tasteless, dried out on the ends but soggy in the middle. My beans and rice were cold (must have been sitting) and didn't have much flavor. Unfortunately I won't be giving them a second chance as it just doesn't stack up to other options in the springs. read more

So we had a party of 7 come to eat. All but two were kids. Most ordered nachos and all of them cleaned their plates! As for the adults, we had the Pasole soup and chicken soup, holy cow they were outstanding and the definite highlight of our meal!!! The only thing my wife really didn't care for was the sauce in her enchilada. It was more sweet while we are more used to a savory sauce. Please know this is not your standard Colorado Mexican food so as long as you go in with an open mind and knowing it's different I think you will enjoy your meal. I know I did!
