So as others have mentioned the maps are wrong, which not many read reviews for 4+ star rated place before trying. Upon arrival, the door actuator doesn't work, so don't wear sandals. As a attempted to casually enter the establishment the door promptly closed cutting my heel fairly deep. Now let's get to the food - order was wrong. I ordered nachos and received fajitas. The meat and chips had a strange sweet flavor reminding of Taco Bell cinnamon tortillas. The steak burrito was all gristle. So bad my husband who can force almost anything down refused to finish it. The salsa had no flavor and not sure what kind of salad was on the side with the green dressing. With the feta cheese it reminded us of a Greek salad. We have been searching for authentic Mexican food in Monument and have been so disappointed. I can't figure out why people pack into the other places. Jarrito Loco is our new spot. Lovely vibe inside, great service and by far the best food we've had. The salsa sampler is a great way to try their sauces and then you know it's going to be legit. Just left Jarrito Loco and had an awesome breakfast. My husband and I have completely opposite spice taste buds and we both really enjoyed it. Flavorful, lots of options, beautiful presentation, and the owner gave amazing service! His coffee was even presented with a thumbprint cookie, I wish I would've taken photos for the review. Best Mexican food on the front range! Always fresh and flavorful. The salsas and sauces are the best I've ever had. Try the chicken enchiladas with poblano sauce, the Chuleta en Chile Pasilla tacos (ask for extra sauce) and the Pozole, you will not be disappointed. Wash it all down with a Cadillac Margarita! The staff is extremely friendly, but I didn't see what was so special about the food. My wife had fajitas and they were just average at best. I had chicken enchiladas and they had good flavor but the chicken was a bit dry. Chips and salsa were not my favorite either and that's typically what I look forward to. This place has very authentic Mexican food. Homemade tortilla chips the way they are supposed to be. I noticed one comment that they were too thick but these are real Mexican tortilla chips are. Every dish on the menu is Regional. Many different amazing salsas , I recommend asking them to try a few of the other salsas. Don't expect your standard Mexican food restaurants. Great food and even better service! I felt their food prices were a little high, and their drinks were definitely a bit high. My bill was over $60 for a 10 year old and myself to have dinner! We each had one drink, mine was a strawberry margarita, we had one appetizer of chips and their flight of salsas, and we each had a meal. Their margaritas are mediocre for the $10+ they charge. We plan to be back, but not as often as we would like due to the mediocre drinks, and the high prices. I can't wait to see their new location! Hopefully they didn't have to increase their prices even further to compensate for the new larger location! read more

Overpriced, plain. Not good food for the money, mostly spanish rice. Both the wife and I had Carnitas and Carne asada plates, usually my favorites. The salads while very fresh, I thought the dressing strange. We only got a small dish of beans and condiments between the both of us. Ice tea was $4, with no refills. DO Not GO !!!! This place was awful. The customer service is trash. I had a Carne Asada burrito which came out cold. It's like they put a few pieces of meat with a bunch of rice and smashed it all together. It was gross. My husband had the fajitas they only had chicken available, usually fajitas come out on a sizzling pan and ours came out on a cold pan. NO SIZZLE The guacamole was tasteless and bland. I had a side of sour cream and it was basically sour cream water. Our waiter was rude and made us feel like he hates his job. Turns out he was the owner. They don't serve Queso. Never trust a Mexican restaurant that doesn't serve queso. No ceviche either. This was the worst Mexican restaurant I have ever been to. Our experience was 2. We talked to other people in Monument and they had similar experiences. This place has a lot of room for improvement. read more

Jarrito Loco takes me back to my travels in Mexico. This is truly authentic Mexican food, not the Americanized version. Their homemade salsas, sauces are absolutely amazing. Their authentic thick cut and homemade chips and salsas are just the beginning. Lovely people with a heart to serve the community of Monument and anyone passing through. We have eaten here several time now after our son suggested it. Introduced 2 other couples who loved it. I have had all 3 soups which are all VERY tasty, my favorite being the pazole. I have had the burrito with pollo, but my FAVORITE is is the chuleta - two very tender pork chops is an amazingly tasty red sauce...WOW!! Finished off with flan-vanilla one night and sopapilla with homemade caramel and pecans another night. Both excellent! The staff is friendly, attentive and do not rush you. The owners are so friendly, and took time to chat briefly though they are very busy taking care of their customers. Start with the sampler salsas and chips. This place is a local gem. My husband and I always passed on it because it is in an old Village Inn and we just never considered it for dining out. After encountering a long wait elsewhere with some friends, we decided to try this place and were pleasantly surprised. The interior is lovely and the staff are amazing. Angel was so very accommodating and made the experience wonderful. The food, however, speaks for itself. I had the Chuletas and while I have nothing to compare it to, I have to say these were the best pork chops I've ever had. My husband got the enchiladas and loved them, but one thing we were both enamored with was the homemade chicken soup. Our friends loved it as well. In fact, we loved everything about the place and this is not your standard Tex-Mex. These dishes are authentic and the menu shows which region of Mexico they hail from.
