I've been coming here for years, because I live in town. Tonight I witnessed a female manager be incredibly RUDE and mean to a young couple who had ordered 2 of the same thing, then realized that one portion was enough for 2 people - so they asked if they could send one back. The manager told them "most people know how to order" and that "most people know how hungry they are" and then stated at last 3 times that she would take it off their bill "this time but not next time." Good stuff! As we were returning to New Mexico from an east coast trip, we spent the night with friends in the area and had dinner here. Yummy sushi, great mochi for dessert. Definitely worth a repeat trip whenever we're back in the area. read more

Love the lunch buffet and it is a great price. You will not be disappointed in the variety that is offered. I also really enjoy the hibachi. It is expensive but delicious. If you get hibachi I recommend the filet. It's worth the few extra dollars. I would not recommend the take out. For some reason the takeout does not seem to match the dine in. Went to Jasmine's tonight, it was terrible. The place was freezing. The waitress was extremely rude and rushed us through our entire meal. My mom has a severe egg allergy that was completely disregarded and the manager was unapologetic. Needless to say we will never go back. read more

Jasmines is a great place for good food. But the waiters suck I recently experienced this at jasmines the waitress (Helen) came over and gave us dirty cups with residue floating in them and we had to ask a person walking by our table to please grab our waitress because she was no were to be found we waited 10 mins for her to just come over to the table to get us new drinks. But the glasses were even worse they had brown wash rings on them. She walked away before we could even say we no longer want them so we waited another 30-40mins to place our order and we ended up waiting 30 just to see our food and it was stale and cold. When she gave us our check we split the payment and she argued with us about doing two different payments and was not satisfied with us. She came back and gave us the stubs to sign and needless to say we did not leave her a tip and she came back and started arguing with us about how we did not leave a tip for her and she slammed the bill on the table and demanded us we had to leave her a tip. So excited about a great affordable sushi place in Auburn! I've already been to Jasmine's twice, once for take out and once for lunch. I was very impressed by the modern decor inside, and the quality of the food at decent prices. On both occasions, we had the maki roll lunch special (choice of 2 rolls, add a 3rd roll for only $3, and a choice of soup or salad - all for about $8), and the sushi lunch special (choice of 1 roll, and chef's selection of 4 pieces of sushi, and choice of soup or salad - all for less than $9). The fish was fresh, I especially liked my spicy tuna roll, because it was the chopped up kind, mixed with the right amount of spicy mayo (some places put way too much, and I hate the spicy tuna rolls that come drenched with spicy mayo across the top), and some panko bread crumbs. The miso soup was also flavored well, not too salty. I'm originally from NYC where there are almost as many sushi places as there are Starbucks, so fierce competition keeps prices low and quality high, so I'm very pleased that there is now an affordable, decent sushi place in Auburn that I can enjoy regularly. I took a stroll through the buffet area, and the lunch buffet looked pretty good with a large variety of dishes, but I have yet to try it. The staff is also friendly. I'm looking forward to trying other dishes at Jasmine's. read more

My wife and I were excited to try this place; however, we were sorely disappointed. I ordered the Pad Thai and my wife ordered the General Tso's Chicken. The General's Chicken was good but the Pad Thai was so bland I could only stand two bites of it. I love Pad Thai but again this was by far the worst I ever had. I told the manager in a polite manner and she apologized but gave me the impression that she did not really care. The service was really slow and we were not able to even ask for water while we ate let alone drink anything. Have no fears, she did reappear to bring our bill (we started to build castles out of plates so she would get the hint). Portions are also on the small side and the they are pricier than the local competition. On a positive note, the atmosphere was very nice and clean. I hope others will have a more positive experience. read more

Delicious. Their Ma Po Tofu is excellent and their Lo Mein dishes are great. Definitely check them out!

My husband and I really like their sushi. Their crab rangoons are great also. Some of the wait staff could have better attitudes. We have done the hibachi a few times and had a great experience. The floor in the hibachi grill area is very slippery though. I'm surprised no one has slipped and sued yet. read more

I recently moved to town and made sure to immediately track down a "go to" Chinese food spot and I can definitely say I've found it! The food is excellent and the drinks are fairly priced yet generously poured. I typically have a seat at the bar, order a Mai tai and order up traditional Chinese fair like General Tso's, but I've recently tried some specialty dishes like the Imperial Couple (sautéed shrimp and scallops with assorted vegetables) that was delicious. I have tried everything from takeout, to the impressive lunch buffet to the always entertaining hibachi and have loved every bit of it. It goes to show you never to judge a book by its cover as this gem is hidden in a strip mall on route 12. Highly recommended! read more

My party of 6 went to the hibachi table- it was my twins' 11th birthday. The food was okay. The waitstaff was rude and yelled at us that we had to have 4/6 eating off the hibachi in order to sit there. The room was empty.. Two of the 4 kids ended up having kids steak. The cook did a couple tricks with his tools and made the usual volcano. There was no humor involved- it was all business for him and no play. When you dish out $126 for two adult and two kid meals (with 2 appetizers each for the other two), I'd expect that I'd at least get entertained and not yelled at. Waitress seemed mad that we were not drinking. The experience was rather uncomfortable. They brought out one tine cake to be shared between two eleven year olds that were not sitting together. The tip was included- I would not have tipped 18%. It was an insulting and humiliating experience. We'll never be back. There was a party of four at our table that seemed to feel the same as we did. Food at this place was OK but the prices for wine is outrageous. I my party of three we all had wine, so we thought that each glass was about $6.00 per glass. Well that was wrong, it was $9.00 a glass, this is very expensive to have cocktails there. read more

Came in before 3 and asked our server Justin if we could order from the lunch specials. He said no so my wife and I ordered from the dinner menu. Ordering soft drinks, fried rice, General Gao's Chicken, and a combo appetizer ran $40. including a 15% tip. For that we got a food that you get at any Chinese takeout, and portions that were on the small side. The food here was good. I have zero complaints about that. We ordered sushi and chinese food. However after receiving our bill, paying for it with my debit card and leaving a tip, I was blown away to have the server come back and ask me if the service was "ok" or if we had any problems. I replied no everything was good. So he then proceeded to take out a calculator and along with my receipt show me that I failed to give him a full 15% tip. And completely EMBARASSED me in front of my girlfriend and her 2 friends. I'm sorry but can someone show me where its WRITTEN BY LAW that I am required to give a full 15%? I was eating on a slight budget and gave maybe a 12% tip. He came back to me to ask for $2 more on his tip!!! I'm all for tipping and tipping well, however, that does not and is not a MANDATORY thing to do. This shows poor class and totally shrewd on the part of this server. Does he work for tips you ask? Yes I'm sure he does, but its not like i left him $1 or even $3. I left him a $6 tip. Many will say i could have left more, but do you know my financial situation? No? New Years Eve at Jasmines, one of our most disappointing experiences! We arrived early to beat the crowd, it was 4:45 PM. We were seated right away (party 0f 6), the food was OK nothing to brag about, service was fair. Two in our party only went up once the rest a couple of times. We were there approximately 45 minutes and were handed the bill ($138 only 2 hard drinks were bought, this included a mandatory tip of $19.90). That's not the worst part, right after we recieved the bill the hostess came to out table and said quite bluntly "you have to leave now"! My wife said, can I at least finish my tea? "No! we are very busy and you have to leave, we need your table"! Now I understand, New Years Eve is an evening were traditions run deep that includes a meal of Chinese food. But, 5 minutes and my wife would have been done with her tea. The Hostess stared us down until we got up. Other patrons who witnessed this were visually upset. I'm sure that we weren't the first. Well Jasmines, the loss of my patronidge of you restaurant my not impact your financial statement, but because of the rudeness of your Hostess we will never return. read more

The food here is very good. I was there on Saturday Feb. 13th. What disturbed me was the politically incorrect way the staff are treated. The sign on the door clearly states we close at 11:00 pm. If they left us alone we would have been done and out and HAPPY by 10:30. We arrived around 9:15 expecting a relaxing girls night out. They started throwing us out at 10;00. Constantly interrupting our conversation. So annoying. So rude. Jasmine has 4 dining rooms. The Bar, the grill tables, the sushi, and buffet. The buffet dining room closes first. So why were we sat where we were when there was plenty of space in the sushi and bar dining rooms? So it was a mistake on there end of seating choices. I talked to the young attractive Asian female manager on duty. She explained that the staff that operates that dining room have to be done by 10:00 pm. I am like you are the manager everything is done. All you would have to do is wipe one table and remove 10 dishes (the 10 includes flatware glasses and cloth napkins). She looked at me with such disgust I wish I had a picture. She is clearly above pitching in. Even though SHE seated us incorrectly in the first place. The staff in the dining room were afraid of something. Her? Losing their job? Who knows just weird. I do not like someone new to this country working through a language barrier having to deal with what I saw as abusive behavior. Just keep your eyes open next time you are at Jasmine. read more

huge menu...hibachi, chinese, and sushi. you can sit at hibachi or at regular table. nice atmosphere and yummy food. been in a few times now and always liked our meals. have only had reg chinese food and sushi rolls, no hibachi for us. would recommend it and will go back. nicer than i expected for being in that odd little strip mall...don't let that deceive you, it's great inside :) read more

First I would like to say the sushi is pretty good, great presentation. I would like to comment on the appearance of the bar area first. The bar has low lighting giving it a wonderful ambiance however there are beer cases stacked up with miscellaneous things on top creating a messy look. Next I would like to comment on the staff behind the bar which was on a Monday evening there was a gentleman who had dress pants and a white button up on who looked fantastic and was very nice. He also cleaned up our table even though he was not our server. (I do like to give credit where it'd due). Our server however wore a very casual summer top that was low cut revealing a bit too much for a server considering we could see the color of her undergarments. She also was very attentive to the bar customers but lacked attention for the tables outside the bar area (where we sat). We had mentioned a drink we were thinking of ordering and she walked away and came back with the drink even though we hadn't decided on that, no big deal but after that we decided on our food and sat and waited 15 minutes after deciding on what to order before she came over to take our order, normally I NEVER complain because I'm in the business and know what it's like however she looked over at us several times and didn't come over. She was not peasant when we ordered and she was pleasant only when it came time for us to pay our bill. Needless to say we were not pleased that she was so kind and attentive to her bar customers but not to us. I will give this place one more chance because my fiancé enjoyed the sushi so much but I hope they have better service next time. read more
