I've had only great experiences here! My most recent visit was with my parents who were visiting from California. We'd taken them to Yamato before, and they requested we go again on this visit. My children are adolescents, but I do enjoy the family friendly vibe there. My daughter was having some pain in her mouth (unrelated to Yamato), and the manager, Sarah, offered to assist and brought my daughter an ice pack. After dinner, the 6 of us chatted with Sarah for quite a few minutes. She is always personable and always very helpful. We love Yamato! read more

If you advertise a "scallions pancake" appetizer and only serve HALF a pancake, that's deceptive practices and the trade commission should be alerted. The menu item should say HALF a scallion pancake. Then they served my friends dinner with our half appetizers and my dinner cam 15 minutes later after she was done. read more

Waitress should be more attentive in service. No water, utensils, forgot my sushi ordered came in when I finished my meal. My food seemed for a child, Been coming to this place the last 10 years, the quality and quantity of food has decreased and the prices increase. Are pepper steak hardly no pepper nor steak ! Absolutely love this restaurant. My friends and I happened to discover this place a few years ago and have been going consistently ever since. Over the years of eating here, they have never once disappointed any of us. When it comes to the consistency of quality and taste, few restaurants provide a five star experience like Yamato. Their sushi is fantastic. I have also had many of their appetizers, meals, and sides. Every item I've had off the menu has been great. I highly recommend their fried rice and crab rangoons. First, we moved to the area a year ago. This was good food. Slowly over time it was getting worse. Today, they charged me more for food that I did not order. My husband questioned it and was told "yea yea you order" and when I called them back they proceeded to hang up on my four times! I will be calling my bank and never going here again. read more

Walking through the doors was a quick a bit of a shock it is a gorgeous restaurant the atmosphere is welcoming the Decour is so nice . Today's the first time I cheated I have been doing weight watchers for three months and it was so worth it! They have the best Rangoons I've ever had in my life and I'm going to be 44 years old. For starters, our server was just running all over the place and seemed very overwhelmed the entire time we were there. Their table distribution for their servers was terrible. Calamari appetizer had the texture and flavor of frozen seafood. My General's Chicken and hibachi rice were both very good. My wife's Red Curry Chicken w/ vegetables and white rice probably would have been good. The entree came out without the rice as they had run out and needed to make more. By time the rice showed up, the entree was cold. Lastly, my wife ordered tea expecting to get the Chinese tea we always see at sit down Asian restaurants. Nope, cup of hot water with a Lipton tea bag. Not rushing back any time soon. read more

Disorganized, bad customer service. Placed an order and gave the pickup name. My husband went to the restaurant, gave his name, rattled off sushi items that sounded right to him, paid, and left. They called me back saying he 'took the wrong food', though he gave his name and they put the bag right in front of him. He drove 15 minutes back, was not given a full refund, and they made him feel bad about the situation. If first name is the data collected to track orders, make sure YOU give the right food to the customer. Uncomfortable. We will be going to BABA or Kaizen instead now. The last two take out nights have been a disappointment, definitely not up to the standard of food that I'm used to from here. The pork fried rice tasted a little funky. The chicken in the chicken and broccoli was a little off also. Maybe they switched vendors? I don't know. But for what it costs for two people to eat, we are going to hold off from here for a while. During the pandemic, our favorite local sushi place shut down (as did many of the restaurants with Asian fare). We discovered Yamato and won't ever look back, atleast for takeout purposes. It's a much farther drive for us but it has been so good both times we've ordered. We've loved the sushi rolls - they're reasonable and always delicious. Definitely a new favorite! Additionally, the service, both on the phone and in person at pickup, is wonderful! Don't skip this hidden gem. Okay this is was a wild experience. The drinks were so weak, we had scorpion bowls and they were basically orange juice. The bartender brought my brother a drink and literally said "i brought you the wrong one but i hope you like it" ...... The waitress never once asked us if we wanted another drink, we had to raise our voices and ask while she was walking away. The food was thrown on the table and they threw forks and napkins down in a pile at the end of the table like it was a picnic. WTF never again We were laughing so hard it was so comedic how horrible the experience was. Edited* I just found out they gave my brother the wrong meal and didn't offer to switch it out. This is a little restuarant in a plaza but the quality is good. Wish I could say the same about the service. I have only been there for to-go orders and STILL received bad service at the counter. EIther they are on their phone while ringing me up (thats happened twice!), or they rudely tell me to hold on and just walk away after printing my bill. They need to clean house and hire some new FOH staff. Once the service is up to the level of the food, they wil be fine. read more

Had lunch there last week with my husband. Set at the bar. Very dark inside! Needed to be brighter for lunch. For the money it was a good lunch . we had crab rangoon, and we each got a Bento Box. Which included 4 pieces of California roll a spring roll, a piece of salmon, or steak, or chicken, with really delicious sauteed vegetables. Two glasses of wine, two beers and lunch for $48. I unfortunately had a bad experience and cannot recommend. This is a place my family and I have enjoyed several times, but we will not be returning. After I drove 45 minutes round trip, I discovered a missing item when I got home. When I called to ask them to remove the charge from my order, they said they couldn't do anything unless I was there in person. I explained that it was too far, and could they refund the amount to the card I paid with... No dice. They "can't" do a refund, and won't void and rerun the transaction properly if I'm not there to sign it. (So... You want me to come back and sign a slip when I already told you I'm too far away to come back and get the food, which is all I really wanted to begin with, that YOU forgot to give me... Right.). On top of this, half the food (that we did receive) was subpar tonight. These mistakes would have been overlooked IF THEY HAD EVEN TRIED TO BE HELPFUL... Went for lunch. Was greeted promptly by the bartenders. Very friendly service. Also the Mai tai was nice and strong but not overwhelming. I ordered the bento box with teriyaki salmon and it came with rice, spring roll and Cali roll. All tasty and fresh. The manager came over and gave us the wifi password, and even offered an iPhone chArger. That was fantastic. Decor is nice, prices are on point. I was disappointed that this place doesn't have the hibachi tables. Instead it's cooked in the kitchen. Service was pretty good. Staff was very nice. I ordered beef lo mein and sesame chicken. Food was very fresh! I liked the lighter sauce on the chicken instead of the thick kind that usually comes on this type of dish. The interior is very classy. Beautiful bar area. Went again a few weeks ago, and had issues with the server. People seated after us were greeted and had drinks first. She didn't come back to our table at all. By the time we got the check, we were so annoyed and in such a rush to leave that we forget our leftovers on the table. Their wifi policy is also weird. The owner is the only one who has the password so that waitresses won't connect to wifi at work (but practically everyone has unlimited data so who does that actually help?!). So, the owner typically comes up, grabs your phone, and types in the password. When I went, the owner had left, so someone she trusted called her and got the wifi password. She took my phone with her to the counter for over 10 minutes without even telling me she was taking my phone in the first place. The food is generally ok for Spencer went there tonight yea not so well, my gf and I ordered the same thing except I had white rice she had fried the waitress gave us both white rice (the rice was absolutely disgusting and the chicken was very rubbery) we ordered a scorpion bowl which was mainly juice and ice, the waitress asked once how was it I was honest told her the rice was horrible. I didn't want anything in place needless to say that was the last time she came to the table didn't ask us if we would like another drink or anything just came back for the check.
