My basic included callous removal where needed, and a hot stone massage on feet while she waited for the other tech to finish with the polish on my fingernails. Been a regular customer here for a few years now, probably only 2-3x a year for special occasions, but always impressed with the good quality work done and the efficiency! This past Saturday I brought my friend from out of town with me as we were attending a Christmas party that evening. We made an appointment for 2pm that Saturday and when we walked in it was pretty empty, 2 others walked in at the same time and within a minute everyone was tending to all of our needs! Hands and toes done at the same time by 2 people. The place quickly filled up with a few more customers and one lady who had came in and waited a few minutes was about to leave, and Debbie was quick to respond and shift people around to get 2 people working on this lady's hands and feet at the same time ASAP so that she would not leave. I believe Debbie is the owner and she's also the one who was doing my hands during this past visit. I have been to this salon twice. Today was my second and last time going here. I went to get my nails done (Manicure), same as the first time around. Experience 1 - got an Ombre with acrylic extensions by Kim at the salon. She was very nice, did my nails carefully. She had to take my previous extensions out and had to charge me $5 for it, which I said was okay. Then, she mentioned that since I am getting my nails done there, they will not charge me for removing the extensions off the next time. Pleasant-ish experience. So I thought, I should go back there. Paid $55 Experience 2 - Today, I went back to get my nail extensions with an Ombre again. First, the lady told me she will refresh it, then she said she will remove and put new extensions, then, finally, she did not even give me acrylic extensions. She just used the powder on my bare nails. On top of this, she charged me to remove the previous extensions *which I was told will not happen), she injured me on five different places on my fingers, and I still paid $55!! No extensions, injured fingers, bad quality, and still $55. My nails look super uneven. I would suggest not going here. I feel like they think they can cheat anyone they feel like. While swiping off my card afterwards, (even after i protested the rate a little), the cashier was going to charge me $60. I really dislike waiting. Got there early for my 5 pm appointment by 15 minutes. Ok, I understand I need to wait since it's not my appointment time. What I don't understand is why they put me in the pedicure chair and my technician disappears for 15-20 minutes. I don't get pedicures a lot but this is just bad business. The owner did my nails however I'm very upset because she did a clear powder overlay without even asking me. I'm not a manicure person so I can't say anything about those, but treating myself to a pedicure at Jasmine Nails is my favorite way to take care of myself without spending a lot. It's a very good value - fair price for an excellent pedicure that includes hot stone massage. And they have the massaging chairs I love! Debbie owns the salon and greets regulars by name. All the technicians have been working there for a long time as well. They are open right now and being very cautious. When I went the other day there was one other person and they seated her several chairs away from me. Everyone wears masks and there is plexiglass at the manicure stations. I've been coming to Jasmine Nails regularly for the past few months and it's been nothing but great. It's no secret that my one stop shop for mani/pedi combos has been LaTique in Clear Lake for the past two years. Although they do a fantastic job in an upscale spa-like retreat (complete with Mimosas and neck wraps... tickle me pink!),LaTique is very pricey. The luxurious experience comes at a cost upwards of $80 - 100 per visit. I'm a regular in the West U area on the weekends and stumbled across this hidden gem. Upon entering it's obvious to see that this is a no frills nail shop that is simple but very clean. After having a heavenly deluxe pedicure (includes sea salt scrub, rose petals, hot stone treatment, and paraffin wax) plus shellac manicure for $50 total I resolved that the luxury aspect is not as important as I had originally thought! The important thing here, ladies and gents, is the quality of the work these ladies do. Ann has done my nails twice. The first time she did a full set for me that was so natural looking I couldn't convince people those were not my nails. Heck, she had me believing those beautiful healthy tips were genetics! The second time, which was today, she gave me a shellac manicure that is to die for! She is extremely detail oriented and patient but works very fast. She's not big on the small talk but I'm totally fine with that since I'm there to be pampered and to relax. Linh did my pedicure again today and I swear that woman's hands are magic. Her massages and the work she does put me in such a relaxed state that I've caught myself borderline snoring and drooling. I have to give an honorable mention to Yvonne and Tiffany. They are very precise, detail oriented, and have delicate touches. You can't go wrong with either one of them. One of the best things about the ladies here is that they understand that time is money. In other words, they will get you out fast, but will not sacrifice quality to do so. I do have to mention that this place is packed on Saturdays. There is no "best" time to come in. The best thing to do is to call ahead (same day also) and reserve your spot with a technician. I've done walk-ins and although they welcome it, they do encourage you to call ahead to minimize your wait time. I've been a faithful Jasmine nails customer for almost 2 1/2 years and the experience I had on Saturday will be the last time I patronize this establishment. I have loved Jasmine nails. So much so that I bring friends from out of town as well as family there. My go to is a deluxe pedicure and a shellac manicure. I have never had any problems with the pedicure and I like the fact that they don't force you into small talk since I go to the nail shop to relax, preferably in silence. My issue comes from an encounter of Saturday 3/29/14. I got a shellac manicure (a gel mani that is supposed to last 14 days) on 3/20/14 and within days it started to bubble and chip. (Not good!) This is the second gen mani I've had with them that had this issue. Last time I had to go have 7 of my 10 nails redone because whole sheets of nail polish came right off within a week. So when I go back on 3/29, I show them the issue and the woman who I presume owns the place makes me wait for a while.. (No problem, they are busy and I don't have an appt) She then comes to me and says, "We'll fix it for you now, but you can't have shellac anymore. Your nails are too thin to handle them. That is why we have to keep fixing it." Oh word? I've been a customer for almost 3 years and this has never been an issue. Now instead of taking responsibility for the trash job your technicians did, you want to say that my nails are the problem? Shellac when done well has lasted me up to 3 weeks, but 4 days and a chip is my fault? The icing on the cake? The repair job they did on Saturday started to chip off yesterday (3/31/14, a Monday). That is a whopping 2 days later! I am frustrated that my consistent business with them means nothing and that they were unwilling to address the issue honestly. I checked the internet to see what can cause a shellac to peel so quickly and the top reasons? 1. Cheap imitation polish 2. Incorrect application 3. Using the wrong curing lamp Nowhere did it state an issue with client nails, so i think they tried to pawn their issue off on me. If you go for pedicure, you should be fine but I say skip the shellac if you're going. The best thing is if I am so inclined to get a Shellac manicure from time to time I can do so for only an extra $15! This is an absolute steal for inside the loop. INSULTING! The ladies talk badly about their customers and do not honor appointments. I made a 3pm appointment for myself and a friend. I arrived early and my friend arrived later, like 10 minutes pass. They started my shellac on time but didn't even attempt do my friend's nails until 3:45!!!! Every time we asked to get started, they rudely said something in Vietnamese. Little did they know that my friend speaks fluent Vietnamese! This is place is SO DISAPPOINTING! I've been going to Jasmine for their shellac only. Most of the time, it's been okay. For the value inside the loop, you can't beat it. I got a shellac polish change and a pedicure. The first time I got it done, they charged me $15. This time they charged me $23, $8 for polish change AND $15 for shellac. They said there's been some confusion with pricing before. It's shady. And if you have shellac on from a different salon, they charge you an additional $5 to take off. The icing on the cake: I left the salon before my friend since they started on her so late. She told me after I left, they called me a bitch in Vietnamese. They said we were difficult because we wanted them to start on time. Who says that about their customers?!? The ladies answer their cell phones while polishing your nails, talk bad about you in another language, have inconsistent pricing, and do not honor appointments. Jasmine Nails is a great place. I'll tell ya why here. 1) Availability for appointments - I booked an appointment for Saturday morning at 9 AM that Friday night beforehand. I work a job that includes 12-14 hour shifts so it is hard for me to call, but they were very nice and got me an appointment right away. When I came in the next day, they were already open. Lots of places where I've booked early in the morning weren't even open until 20-30 min later, even when I got there on time! 2) Cleanliness - Jasmine Nails is a clean place. The area is very nicely made and towels and tools are all laid out well. My only qualm was that the lady who was doing my nails took the gum out of her mouth with her hands in the middle of the mani I was getting and resumed her work without washing her hands (yeah, the human mouth is one of the dirtiest places ever) but other than that it was fine. 3) Staff - I don't understand Vietnamese but the ladies were very nice about it and just chatted to the amount I was comfortable with (minimal amount). They were not loud or raucous at all, but instead very polite. 4) Service - the lady who did my nails did a super great job with my Shellac and cared. I'm really happy with my nails and will definitely come back again. 5) Price - the base was $12 for a mani and $15 for Shellac upgrade. It think that is very reasonable, and given the fact that I usually just get Shellac manicures (very active lifestyle, less prone to chipping this way) that may be way more expensive. CLEANLINESS: I work in the healthcare field so I super aware of practices that cut down on the risk of infection. This salon is very neat and organized. All tools (i.e. cuticle cutters) are sanitized using an autoclave. QUALITY: Jasmine Nails has a huge nail polish and shellac color collection that includes brands like Essie, OPI, and Zoya. I typically bring my own color and the nail technicians have no problem with that. I have super small nail beds and the technicians are skilled enough to know how to cut my cuticles without knicking my skin. I enjoyed getting a rather faboosh spa mani/pedi here this past weekend, and I didn't break the bank to do so. Their spa mani/pedi doesn't include a neck and back massage like my former usual nail salon, but they did do an awesome salt scrub and hot stone with lotion treatment on me.
