I've had my fair share of going to other nail salons, but I always find myself coming back to this one. I had a stressful day at work today and figured I'd go treat myself to a manicure to have some time to relax. I just showed up instead of making an appointment and they were easily able to accommodate me. The ladies were friendly and patient with my indecisiveness to choose a color and even helped me out! They do not have a hugee selection to choose from compared to other places I've been, but I'm always able to find a color to my liking. They also got some new shellac polish colors recently (and new spa chairs)!! Yay! My shellac manicure came out so nicely and the color was pretty and even. No complaints there. On another note for those of you that may know her: Sally is back on the team!! Definitely worth a try if you're looking for a place to do your nails! If the work done isn't to your satisfaction, just let them know and they'll fix it. read more

I absolutely adore this place. What used to be Empress Nails is now Hyde Park nails. Tracy gets me right every time. She has been the best when it comes to accuracy and details and I love that she completely eliminates the cuticle for a fresh long lasting look. Today she custom mixed powders to make the perfect pink for me. Even when I thought the other ones were fine. I'm able to trust her and can actually relax while getting any nail service done. This is my go to place when I need a shellac mani and spa pedi. I have even brought my girlfriends here. The ladies here are sweet and very accommodating. Any request I have they will try to go above and beyond to make sure they meet my needs. They do not have a ginormous color selection but the colors they have are in style and new. I actually prefer that because I get overwhelmed with large selections. Haha I have never bled nor had a bad experience. They sterilize all of their equipment which is very important. read more

This was my first time here and I got a regular pedicure and a shellac manicure for $52. The massages were pretty good but my actual nails aren't great. My toe nails are so short that they hurt and the top coat is super uneven. My finger nails are just a mess. The shellac is uneven and bumpy in places. There is also shellac on my skin and cuticles so areas of the polish are already peeling up and then there are edges that aren't even covered. The experience was good, but over all I'm disappointed with the outcome. read more

I gave them a try since I was in the area. I had a flight to catch and I didn't have any other options. The lady was nice but I felt like she kept cutting my feet every time she touched them. I paid 77$ plus a 7$ tip and went along my way. I went on vacation to Puerto Rico so I wanted my nails to look good. Instead I had blisters all over my feet due to the equipment they used on my feet which was really painful. I liked my dipping powder acrylic nails but my toes are completely destroyed. First time nail tech did not do dip power properly (completely wrong color and to many layers), second time dip powder was removed and the tech filed down my natural nails super thin and they were uneven. They do not have a lot of colors to choose from for shellac. Although they were nice the level of technique is very low I had to correct the nail tech multiple times. My nails began to peel within 4 days of getting them done so I called to get them redone, they told me to come at 9am the next day to correct the nails. I am now currently sitting in front of the shop and no one is around it is 9:15am. Update: they redid my nails and were very nice about it. My nails look much better, I just suggest that they get a bigger variety of colors. The manager is really nice and professional. read more

Let me break down the pros and the cons: Yes- it's in a nice neighborhood next to a nice Italian restaurant. Yes- it looks sketchy when you go inside with absolutely no prices of ANY of their services. Yes-- it doesn't look high class of a nail salon... BUT... $42 dollars is what they charged for a mani-pedi that includes a hand/arm massage and neck massage. My favorite part was that the lady spent so much time on my feet, as if she had no where to be tomorrow! I also thoroughly enjoyed the chairs. Yes-- their chairs aren't top rate but I have never been in a massage chair where it felt like a small Asian lady was behind it giving me a back rub. The kneading was tough but it was what I needed. I swear my back knots had to have disappeared today. Prices aren't written so beware of any hiked up services. I wouldn't do more than a mani-pedi at this joint. Enjoy! read more

The pedicures & Manicures vary every time you come & depending on who is working and how many people come in. I hate when you are getting a pedicure and someone walks in & then suddenly they start hurrying up and skip certain things to hurry up to the next person. They do that often & it doenst matter if you are a regular customer at all. I think for this part of town they could do a much better job and be more consistent. If you pay for a spa pedicure, you should get a spa pedicure no matter how many people are waiting. Thats why they take appointments. I am not going back. read more

Only got this rating because of Lee otherwise I would run from this place. Place is a dump and not sure about the sanitary conditions. I had asked for Lee because a friend of my recommended her. Before Lee came in they tried to give me another technician and she started to use used boards and tools, not fresh. So I asked her to stop and waited for Lee. Lee was amazing and the pedicure was unbelievable not as impressed with the manicure. If you're looking for a quick place to get your nails done, this place is okay. Most of my experiences have been with Tammy, and I have no complaints whatsoever. She is meticulous to detail and very nice. I used to come here pretty regularly, but my biggest frustration is the lack of variety of shellac colors. You can only see what the color looks like out of the bottle, as opposed to on a plastic nail which is typical for most nail salons of this caliber. If variety isn't something you look for when getting your nails done then this place is for you, however if you like trying different colors every now and then, I suggest visiting some of the other salons in the area first. read more

Pros: The ladies were nice while doing my nails Cons: 1. Bad nail job. I had pink and whites done and a pedi. The pedi was great which is why I gave the salon 2 stars instead of 1. The nail length on my right hand is much longer than the right one, several nails are crooked, the white is inconsistent (thicker on one side than the other), chunks of chemical were left under my nails so I've been trying to get it out. Then they charged me the full amount plus an extra $5 because they put a clear coat on top of the pink and whites. All other salons I've been to include that as part of the service. 2. They set all the TVs to vietnamese so just sat there for an hour and half not understanding anything. 3. They girl next to me got a neck and shoulder massage as part of her nail treatment. I was nice the entire time but didn't even get moisturizer on my hands which were feeling dry from the chemical dust. I wish the salon well but I would never go back. read more

I was impressed by the service I received at this salon. I went to this salon since I had a haircut appointment in the same shopping center. The ladies are very warm and welcoming. I really like the atmosphere. The lady that did my manicure gave a really nice neck, back and arm massage. Honestly that was better than the manicure! I've been to nail salons that are at the same caliber as this one and the service received at Empress was so much better than others. However, my manicure was mediocre. I was not really amazed by it, but I knew the quality would be different than my other nail salon that I typically go to. My regular nail tech has spoiled me that If I ever go to someone else, her work has always stood out. But, over all 5/5 in service and 3/5 in the quality of the manicure. read more

This place deserves more stars than what it shows on Yelp! The ladies are extremely helpful and efficient. I got a mani and pedi in less than one hour. That seldom happens anywhere else. Other than a few rough edges around some of my fingernails (hard to see, but easily fixed at home with a fine file) they did an excellent job. I came here once before and wasn't blown away but it wasn't horrible. This time I can during a slow time (Tuesday around 3pm) and got the best all time service around. I got a basic pedicure but the older women who started my toes have each leg a through massage. I almost feel asleep. It wasn't rushed and felt like a high grade treatment for standard price. Sloppy! They give great massages BUT I don't know about you, I care more about the kind of work they do on my nails. The lengths are all different, they did a sloppy paint job and they left those little fibers from the cotton on under the paint! They lady also had an atttitude when I asked her to fix things. Not worth the money. Did not clean up around my cuticle area. The lady assumed I wasn't paying attention to her so she would tap my nails with the cuticle nippers as if she is cutting around the nail. The lady who did my feet put so much oil on my feet she assumed I wouldn't see all the excess skin she left around my feet. I paid $37 which I feel is too much for a basic mani/pedi. My nails look like I did them myself (some of nail doesn't have color and you can see the top coat ((where it begins and it's starting to chip)). I assumed bc of location that it would be a nice place, but shortly after getting started a man came in asking if anyone wanted to buy raw shrimp. He left out to go get them to show. He came back in with a plastic bowl of raw shrimp. This is not an experience I wish to have when trying to relax and have a little me time. read more

This place is great! Walked in for the first name, kinda in a hurry and they stayed true to their name...had me in and out! Usually places that claim to be express cheat you on their service but not this place. The service was exceptional. I got shellac and they even gave me a massage while my original shellac soaked off.
