Had such a wonderful lunch at AM Noodle today! As a huge Thai food fan who's tried many of the local spots, this one absolutely hit the mark. Their lunch special is an incredible value and comes with soup, salad, a vegetable egg roll, and your choice of entrée. We ordered the Pad See Ew with shrimp and the green curry, and both were packed with flavor. Everything came out fresh and surprisingly fast. The service was just as memorable as the food. I loved the soup so much that I asked if I could order some to take home, and our waitress kindly surprised me with a complimentary larger serving. When she found out we're expecting another baby, she even gave us a thoughtful little baby gift, which was such a sweet and unexpected gesture. I've tried this place twice and with each time the experience improved. First visit: 3/5 Walked in, only two other tables were occupied. I was greeted politely by the lady. She indicated I could sit wherever I wanted. I ordered the cashew nut with shrimp lunch special and water. Food came out very fast. It was presented nicely on a plate. The small bowl of soup was tasty, it had a peppery and garlicky flavor. However I wished it was more hot as the temperature felt just above warm but not hot. The egg roll tasted ok, but was small and the skin was a bit thick. For the cashew nut with shrimp, there were only three shrimp. At first I didn't see any cashew nuts as I was expecting to see whole or halves cashew nut, however I realized in this dish they were crushed, it was just a little bit difficult to find due to the dark sauce. The salad was finished in a few bites. Although the heart shaped rice was cute, I could definitely eat another one or at least half. After finishing everything in my meal I did not feel full. I also did not get my water. Second visit: 4/5 I was greeted by the lady and this time she recognized me from my first visit. She seemed much more friendly and welcoming this time. This time I ordered off the regular menu instead of the lunch specials. I got the spicy basil leaves with chicken and the avocado salad. At first I was worried about the spice level but this dish was not spicy at all, it had more of a tangy flavor. The à la carte portion does seem bigger than the lunch special. It still came with the same heart shaped rice. The avocado salad was ok. I started using the dressing on the salad but ended up using more of the peanut sauce instead. For me it made the salad taste much better. The lady was very kind to give me a complimentary cup of their house soup, even though my order did not come with it. I also got my water this time. Overall the food tasted good. May need to order an appetizer to feel more satisfied. I would still be back when in this area. read more

So it's been a year and I thought I would give this place another chance, once again disappointed.. I arrived to an empty restaurant yet the table I was seated at was dirty. I got the pad Thai lunch special which was a slimy mess with hardly any flavor other than tamarind sauce. The crab ragoons were good but that's about it. Wild how this place isn't always packed! Customer Service: Top tier, greeted immediately when we walked through the door. I believe the owner, came and greeted us and asked how we were doing and welcomed us back. Mind you, we've only been here once before lol. Found this gem while searching for some warm, soupy, noodles in this area. Located in a shopping center with plenty of parking and walking available. Immediately greeted and welcomed upon entry. Chose to sit inside instead of the outdoor seating (it was breezy this day). We did not wait long at all, and were treated to a most delicious meal. Food was excellent! Flavors were on point and the beef was tender with a delicious broth. The chicken noodles (pic not included) was a great blend for my guest of honor. We came and ordered a guzo (like a chicken dumpling) and pad Thai and we said we want to taste the food before buying more and the dumplings came out we ordered peanut sauce on the side it tasted way too sweet and the dumpling was burned on the outside but then the chicken on the inside had ice and was cold and when we told them that it was cold after words the waitress took our plate back and was very rude and showed alot of attitude and took or menus back the pad Thai was ok but then the we had barely started eating the pad Thai she put the check on our table. read more

Stopped by for a quick bite while running errands and it was perfect! Staff was friendly and the food came out super quick and delicious. I love all the protein options I don't normally see like salmon and scallop and fish. They also brought out chili sauce, spice, and fish sauce so you could adjust everything to your preference, which I loved because I could make each bite a little different. Wait wait wait, this place has been here for 4yrs?!? Too bad it's tucked in the corner, but makes for an amazing hole-in-the-wall gem. Tucked snugly in the corner of the shopping center, this cozy place with indoor and outdoor seating has a little of everything. Noodle dishes, savory and noodle soup, Chinese dishes, curries, and veggies and meats a la carte. Just one lady helping us but there were only a few other customers so service was perfectly adequate. I'm updating my review because this is one of my very favorite local restaurants and I've got a few things I want to say about it. To start, let's talk about what category this wonderful little restaurant fits into. Yelp has it listed as Japanese, Pan Asian, Thai, and I'm going to tell you why I think that's misleading. In no way is this a Japanese restaurant. There may be Japanese food selections on the menu, and as good as they may be, they're nothing like you would expect from a real Japanese restaurant. Same with the Chinese selections on the menu. This is really a Thai restaurant with a Pan Asian selection of menu items. All the menu items that are not expressly Thai are in fact Thai interpretations of Japanese or Chinese dishes. That is not to say these interpretations aren't satisfactory in their own right, because many of them are actually pretty terrific. It's is only to give you a heads up. If you order Chow Mein here it's not going to be like any Chow Mein you've had in a Chinese restaurant. Now, I absolutely love the Chow Mein here, but if I was expecting it to be authentically Chinese I'd be disappointed. It's a Thai version of a Chinese dish. A really really good version, but not Chinese. I come here for lunch all the time and I've tried every one of the Lunch Specials. I love them all. When I first started hanging out here I think the Lunch Specials were $10.59. These days they're $13.95, and I'm absolutely fine with the price increase because they use high quality ingredients here. No skimping on quality or quantity. It's a good value. Many times I don't even finish off my lunch plate and I end up taking it home for lunch the following day. The Lunch Specials come with a small bowl of soup that I really look forward to. This peppery bowl of delight recently underwent a recipe change and now it's better than ever. The new version includes egg, so now it is a little more like (a Thai version of) Egg Drop Soup. It seems like it has more veggies in it too. I love that soup so much!!! These days I almost always order my Lunch Special with Tofu as my protein choice. The Tofu is always perfect here. Several visits ago the Owner suggested I try a cup of Ginger Tea. Any other restaurant I would've said No Thanks. But I've never gotten a bad recommendation at this place so I decided to give it a try. Oh man, that Ginger Tea is Outstanding!! I get it every time I eat here now. And in between visits if I feel a cold or sore throat developing I swing by AM Noodle and pick up a Ginger Tea to go. It's so soothing! One thing you should know about it though is that it is served at about 1Billion Degrees Fahrenheit. The To Go version comes in a very very nice corrugated cup so you might not realize it's as hot as it is. Mikey say Be careful, Yo! I come here so often that I've gotten to know people that operate AM Noodle. The place is run by a hard working family that immigrated from Thailand. The Dad was an airline employee in his home country and now, in the US, is the (very talented) cook in his own restaurant. The Mom fills the hostess/waitress/front of the house role. The kids are still very young, but every once in a while I see them doing some little restaurant task. I love how they all work together and how focused they are at trying to provide their guests with good food, good value and happy times. Mostly from their Lunch Special I was a big fan of AM Noodle way before I knew the origin story of the family that runs the place. Learning a little of their family history and seeing how hard they work made me an even bigger fan. This is the kind of local business I love to support. Lastly, I should mention that, unfortunately, notwithstanding the fact that they've got delicious veggies and very nice tofu, the restaurant is not vegan or even vegan friendly. Sorry, but don't even start with any vegan requests here. It is wheelchair accessible though, and I appreciate that. A sign posted low in the front window says No Public Bathrooms. This was the first time I have ever tried Tai food and it was amazing. From the quick service where the seated is took out order and got the food to us in a shocking time. Which the food was great. Came in for lunch on a rainy day feeling nauseous and completely drained. Although small, there's a sense of peacefulness inside. Thankfully, the service was incredibly quick. Stopped by here today for their lunch special. The food had so much flavor, but the only thing I wish was different was the temperature of their soup. I love my soups piping hot especially on a rainy day and my soup was just warm, but not hot. I ordered their basil feel lunch special, my hubby ordered their garlic chicken special and my kids split their stir fry chicken lunch special. They all come with a side of rice, soup and a salad. The service was excellent. We ordered their mango with sticky rice for dessert, it was so yummy! The lady that waited on us didn't speak a lot of English, but good enough that we could communicate with her. The restaurant is small and it was a little busy today, but we still were able to get a comfortable booth. I think it was a good deal for all of the delicious food we got. I am not accustomed to paying such a low price for really good Thai food! You can get a plate of your favorite Thai food for $14, before taxes, of course! The lunch special seemed too good to be true that I had to try it. Honestly, they proved me wrong! The food was so flavorful and yummy! I think my only mistake was ordering the sticky rice without checking the menu. Don't get me wrong. The sticky rice was delicious and the presentation was outstanding. However, it was a lot higher price than what I thought it would be. I'm used to paying around 6 to 7 dollars for mango sticky rice and I ended up paying the same amount that I paid for my meal. So was the sticky rice good? Yes, but I think it was a little overpriced. I get it, the presentation is incredible but I just don't like the sound of paying $14 for a dessert and $14 for lunch. But that doesn't stop me from coming here again and giving this place five stars because I really think they deserve it! read more

She never said hello or anything, after handing me the menu she just sat on the chair and continued to be On the phone. Very attentive, friendly, and fast with service. The food was pretty delicious (especially for Ventura) and portions were filling. The space is clean and tidy. I did stop by with a friend about an hour before closing on a rainy weekend, so we were the only ones there besides the family of the owners. Our options for asian cuisine were limited because lots of places in the area seem to close by 10pm. The only thing I will say is that the price was a tad high for the portion sizes. Very odd interior as it's part office for someone and then a restaurant that's in a strip mall. They really have poor service as we sat there waiting for a long time. The prices were very expensive and unreasonable. Now the food was delicious but not worth the exuberance of cost though. Look to spend $20+ per person.
