Came in for a root canal and had the best experience ever. Dr Cho is very calm and super knowledgeable. He is also one of the friendliest people I have ever met. He explained every step of the process to ease anxiety and put numbing cream before the numbing injection so nothing hurt at all in my whole process. In the distant past, my wife and I experienced difficult root canal procedures. This time, my dentist recommended Modern Endodontics. The name is appropriate because they have modern technologies that some endodontists might not have. Dr. Jimmy Pham was able to see what he was doing using a viewer containing what appeared to be microscopic lenses. I chose to pay extra for the GentleWave laser system for disinfecting the roots. He used a CT scan to guide his work. Do not assume that all endodontists have the latest technologies. The new ways of doing root canals are much less painful than the old ways. read more

Very grateful to Dr. Pham and the team! I started experiencing aching tooth pain recently, and went to my dentist. He couldn't see anything on x-ray, and recommended that I visit an endodontist. But the endodonist he recommended had a lot of issues. E.g. that endodontist's office couldn't figure out my admittedly confusing insurance, and I noticed that the endontist had a tendency of going online and fighting with reviewers who'd left bad reviews - never a good sign. So. I hopped onto Yelp, and found Dr. Cho's office. His team was amazing. They squeezed me in to see Dr. Pham the following day, and worked late to figure out my insurance. (Seriously! I got an email from them at 6:00 PM!) Dr. Pham was incredibly thorough in testing my sore tooth, and very kind when he delivered the bad news: he recommended that I get a root canal. But he assured me he could get me in the following Thursday. On the day of, the office manager remembered that I had mentioned a neck injury, and got me situated in the room. The process was incredibly quick - I was in and out in an hour and a half, and left with no pain. Even after localized numbing agent wore off, I barely felt any pain. The day after, there was confusion with my dentist around my insurance, and the office manager at Dr. Cho's office went above and beyond to talk to my dentist's office on what they were billing, against my maximum allowance. Today, Jul 2023, was my second root canal with Dr. Cho, and again, just like the 1st one a few years back, it was beyond expectations. Just like the first one, I was so surprised that my root canal can be so painless and smooth. His experience and expertise in my view is the best in Southern California, combine that with cutting edge modern technology that his office has invested in, and his IMPECCABLE bedside manner putting the patient at ease, makes my experience 5+ stars. My first root canal with Dr. Cho was years ago and I had a crown done by my dentist Dr. Yu, and together the tooth has had zero issues on pain, discomfort or functionality over the years. Dr. Cho is so genuine in ensuring patient comfort, checking in with you throughout the root canal, taking measures to ensure there is minimal discomfort, and ultimately and most importantly doing a fantastic job with the root canal itself. Who will be not scared of going to a dental office, especially when you're facing a root canal, right? Well.. Dr. Jason Cho is the one you won't be. Part of my crown on #2 molar fell off during the pandemic and I just procrastinated visiting the dental office until it developed excruciating pain all of a sudden on last Thursday evening. I was referred to Dr. Jason Cho by my general dentist, Sean Yu, but I was very scared of carrying this pain over the weekend if Dr. Cho wasn't able to schedule me in sometime on Friday. I was panicking.. But Dr. Cho and his office ladies worked hard to squeeze me in and took care of my dental needs even thou their schedules were packed on that day. I visited the office 1145 and got out around 1:30. Dr. Cho didn't say anything but I think he skipped the lunch because of me.. The most wonderful part is his outstanding skills and treatment procedures. I wish I could leave more than 5 stars for Dr Cho. I was referred to him, after seeing a new dentist as my former dentist retired. My new dentist was concerned about a tooth that had formerly had a root canal, but looked a bit off. Dr Cho was so kind and gracious, took a quick CT Scan and told me the tooth is fine, nothing needed from a dental perspective. However, he did tell me that he could see my sinus was inflamed and to see my ENT, which I did. My sinuses are greatly inflamed and infected, and I will be having a procedure in a week to have them drained. I would not have realized this, without his direction. So although he didn't do any procedures on me, his honesty and concern for something else, is greatly appreciated. If and when I need any root canal work, he will be my guy. read more

I had a root canal done by Dr Jason Cho a few weeks ago whom I was referred to by Dr Sean Yu of Irvine who afterwards has completed the crown work on the tooth. Everything went well and I feel very pleased with the result. Both these doctors did their best to save this tooth and they succeeded. Dr Cho called me on the phone a few days after treatment checking up the condition which was much appreciated. I really felt I was well cared for. Dr. Cho was recommended by my general dentist, Dr. Yu. I was experiencing a shooting pain in my gum (nerve?). They were so kind and accommodating since I couldn't come in during normal business hours. Dr. Cho agreed to stay a little later and saw me at 5:30pm. Dr. Cho was very friendly and personable. He was extremely gentle when he used the instruments to perform tests to assess my pain. He thoroughly explained and walked me through each test he was doing. Dr. Cho and his assistant, Mike, worked very well together. The chemistry between the two made a world of a difference and helped me relax a little. Mike made me feel very comfortable and was very gentle when he took my x rays. He checked in with me here and there to make sure I was still doing fine throughout the whole exam. Turns out that I didn't need a root canal! Dr. Cho said the pain I was feeling was due to a sinus infection and that it would go away on its own. I'm writing this review for Dr. Cho on behalf of my mother who received treatment from him three days ago. She stated that Dr. Cho's skill as an Endodontist is impeccable. She felt no discomfort at all from numbing injection to procedure and after the procedure. She did not take any pain medication post op and stated she felt no discomfort. She is in her 70's and has undergone a wide range of dental procedures over the years including extractions, crowns, bridges, caps, implants and previous root canals. My mother said that she has never met a better dentist and feels sorry for dental patients who have no idea what an outstanding dentist and excellent care really can be and settle for less. Update: I had another visit to Dr. Cho because I still felt sensitivity on my affected tooth and it also radiated to the adjacent tooth (this was two weeks after I had my procedure). Since I was scheduled to have my crown the next week, I wanted to make sure everything was fine prior to putting in the crown. So, I called the office and left a message to Michelle at the front desk. Dr. Cho then personally called me after business hour and scheduled me to come for another checkup right away to make sure there was no infection. I went in on Friday and he checked everything for me. He said that he didn't see anything wrong with the tooth and the sensitivity was normal because the body was still healing. Again, he was gentle and patient with my concern and ensured me that he will check again if I still feel pain after putting in the crown. I thought I was going to get charged for another checkup but he didn't charge me anything, which I truly appreciate! I had my permanent crown put in a few days ago and I have not had any issues with my teeth since then. Dr. Cho, thank you again for your excellent work and team! Truly appreciate everything you do! I came to see Dr. Jason Cho after having a root canal that did not cure a sensitive tooth. He appeared to me as a thoughtful, humble, and kind person. I took his suggestion and let him perform a second root canal in the same tooth in which he discovered a root canal that was missed by my regular dentist. The sensitive problem has never gone away, so I came back to see him a few more times. At our last meeting, after perused the 3D Xray for sign of infection, he tested my bite and suggested that I check with my dentist for an overbite at the side of that tooth. He explained that the traumatized gum was never properly healed caused by the overbite at that tooth. I believed he was correct because of a new bridge that I had a few years before and how I felt ever since. I has already asked my dentist correct my bite and have been feeling better. Throughout his treatments and many diagnoses, he gave sensible advices, demonstrated his high professional competence in search for the right treatment, and was never afraid of being transparent. I cannot say enough about Dr Cho. I had 2 root canals done by a dentist and she messed up both of them. Both had infections but one had to be redone. In the past, whenever I go to the dentist either for a filling or a root canal, it would be painful each time. The worst part is when the needle is inserted into my mouth, I can feel the screeching pain. So when I had to redo the infected root canal, I was very fearful. However, when the day came and the procedure started, I was shocked to not feel any pain. I only felt some pressures. Dr Cho explained every step and was so gentle and patient!
