HE ONLY CARES ABOUT MONEY.. i have medical insurance and I've been dealing with sleep apnea for a while. I decided to see Jason because he was Korean and it would not cause a language barrier for my mom to understand everything. Also i paid out of pocket for an appointment which shows he probably thought i couldn't afford treatment. He comes in flashes a flashlight in my nose and says you probably have sleep apnea. He assigned me a sleep study and sent me off with a nose spray. When my mom would ask a question he would look annoyed and interrupt her mid sentence. After the sleep study i came to follow up with him and he said you have sleep apnea and there's nothing you can do besides buy a cpap machine. I said what about surgery, he said no it'll make it worse. I was so shocked how disengaged he was and how cold he sounded, like i was a fly pestering him. So i said okay and spent 1000 on a machine. After months of trying the cpap and failing, i couldn't do it anymore. I changed my insurance to PPO and found another ENT doctor. He FULLY examined everything from ears, mouth, and put a camera in my nose to give a thorough exam. The doctor concluded it was because of my tonsils that were overly large and was blocking my airways and that i needed a tonsillectomy. Which i did and my sleep apnea was gone like that. Thank you Jason for rejecting me because i was able to get fully healed besides believing that nothing else could be done for me. Avoid him at all costs. I strongly suspect that the positive reviews were self-written. He only talks and doesn't allow you to ask questions. I had to chase him out of the office just to ask something. I still don't understand why I need the surgery until i saw another ENT! Im still so mad and upset. Amazing and extremely caring Doctor. Wonderful bed side manner and truly puts patients first. He saved my life and I will always be grateful to him for that. Sooooo, had to update my review a year later. I'm a girl who has had minimum 2 sinus infections a year, and not just tiny ones but horrific ones, and sometimes 3 or even 4! Well, I saw Dr. Kim just over a year ago and I have not even had ONE!! I am so completely thrilled!!! I went back to have my Rx refilled and was reminded at just how caring and thorough Dr. Kim is. Very friendly and took his time to meet with me and talk about any concerns I might have. I did have a secondary concern and he immediately did some extra exams and told me what was going on with me, it was a simple thing yet something I was concerned about. His front office, Caroline (?), is really friendly and sweet, as well. My wait time was minimal and the time spent with the doctor wasn't rushed. I still highly recommend Dr. Kim! Terrible. Do not waste your time or money. No bedside manner whatsoever. Very narcissistic --only cares for his own opinion. Went in for pain in ears, neck and throat. Came out with acid reflux diagnosis. Never treated my pain. Called later same day to complain and was told there was a Rx waiting for me at pharmacy for my ears. I was told that progress notes showed I had eczema otitis (by the back office assistant). Doctor never told me I had this. In fact, he looked in my ears once with his light and literally said: "There is nothing wrong with your ears." I'm still experiencing extreme pain in my throat and the office is ignoring my calls altogether. Won't answer the phone and when they do, they send me to voice mail. Unprofessional. Nothing has changed regarding my opinion of Dr. Kim's treatments, etc. I'm going 3 stars because he has dropped out of an association with Providence Medical Group (St. Jude/St. Joseph) for whatever reason. My insurance is affiliated with Providence so I can no longer go to him for services. :-( read more

PLEASE DO NOT GO HERE! This is the worst so called Dr. I have ever seen in my 64 years of life. When you get there, you automatically feel something isn't right. There is no staff there other than One lady! That's it! If he's "not your average ENT", then why does his office just consist of 2 people? (For reference, the ENT I saw yesterday has at minimum 3 people behind the desk!) Then I got taken in real fast, didn't even have time to fill out the very little paperwork they give you. By the way, you get no HIPPA forms to fill out, no Privacy Practices, nothing to ask your symptoms, how long you have been feeling bad..... YOU will get none of that. I was taken into a room and he barely looked in my ears (I Have Eustachian Tube Dysfunction) and then said he was going to put a camera up my nose! Eustachian tube dysfunction is diagnosed by putting something into your ears folks! Not up your nose! Then I was asked to sign a form because they could not check to see if my insurance would cover the procedure. I have a MediCare Advantage plan. They pick up the phone and they get authorization. It's that simple! They said they did not do that. It was my job! IT IS NOT MY JOB CAROLINE! It's YOURS! Don't GO HERE!!!! PLEASE Pay attention to all the ONE STAR Reviews and steer clear of this office. If your Insurance sends you here, tell them to send you somewhere else!!!! They won't help you!! I promise you they will not, and they will over bill your insurance or in my case....THEY Billed the WRONG Insurance! I went to this doctor's office for the first time yesterday. He is not the type to explain things kindly. He doesn't even answer questions. Instead, he stops me from asking questions by responding with other questions. As he walked out, he prescribed two medications without explaining what they were. I didn't even get a chance to ask about the medications. I felt like I was being pushed out. The nurse left the door open and waited for me to leave. It was so absurd. I really felt bad. Do I talk too much? The entire time I spent in that office was less than 10 minutes, at most. As he walked out, all he said was that he would prescribe two medications. TERRIBLE SERVICE. Waited for my test result for 2 weeks + more days. Was supposed to get my result on the 7th day, no follow up call. called, told me to wait a week. Called on the day they were supposed to call (was supposed to get a call from them around 4-5PM), called around 4:30PM, office was closed. Called next monday, said doctor has to give the results. called again that afternoon, still no one picked up. i dont want ANYONE to go through the experience i went through. If i could give zero stars I would. I called them to set an appointment because I've had a really bad ear and throat issue. Literally feel like I'm dying and have been to urgent care 3 times, they recommend an ENT and I picked these clowns. I told them what happened and all my symptoms which did include a fever, no one said anything at the time. What a terrible experience. I decided to pay my co-pay with cash. I handed the woman at the front desk a $100 dollar bill and you would have thought I just pulled out a counterfeit money machine. She held it up in the air for about 30 seconds, passed it to another girl who did the same thing and then told me she would have to get the "doctor's approval". The doctor finally "approved" the $100 dollar bill. I should have read the reviews about this man before making my appointment. Dr. Kim was horribly rude and abrupt. He told me he hadn't heard of EXTREMELY BASIC terms I had used and that I would have to go elsewhere. He saw me for about 5 minutes and then told me someone would be calling me with a referral. Calling the office: This is a nightmare. Most of the time the calls go straight to voicemail or do not go through at all. This is during business hours. Outside of business hours for this office, the calls will be directed to their other Orange County location. Appointments & doctor: You might be scheduled as early as 8am, only to arrive at the location of your appointment to find out that the office does not open til later. Very strange. As stated below by others, the doctor tends to be more on the stern and indifferent side when you are expressing your concerns or feelings regarding your health. The doctor is not receptive to hearing any questions personal or alternative options you may have researched yourself (i.e., inquiring about the use of nasal strips to help with breathing difficulties at night). To put it simply, he is not friendly and doesn't show concern for your health. Rather, he follows his routine - based on my visits, this was simply putting a camera into my nasal cavity and informing me that I had a severe deviation (this was confirmed prior with an x-ray requested by my PCP). His suggestion to help relieve my nasal congestion/breathing difficulties was to use a nasal spray for 3 months then revisit it at a later time. This spray was not effective and I had previously been advised to use it for months prior by my PCP which I did inform him prior to his suggestion also. Lastly, I was told I'd need a septoplasty and turbinoplasty - which I agreed to follow through with the procedure. After 2 weeks of waiting and back to back calls to the ENT's office, I was informed by the scheduler that the procedure was denied by my insurance and that they had requested an appeal. Upon calling my insurance provider, I was informed an appeal was never received and that the denial was processed a week prior. Unfortunately the ENT's office did not provide any information about this issue to me or responded in a timely manner. I would suggest finding a different provider. read more

I was referred to Dr Jason Kim from my PCP last month. I came to visit Dr Kim because I suspected myself of having a sleep apnea, which over 300000 people suffer in US alone every year. Their building is surrounded by St Jude medical, dentist office, and other medical offices. This building is not a major medical building, so you have to navigate yourself to this building and enter a parking structure behind their office. Parking is, unfortunately not validated, so after an hour, you must pay $3.00, max $10...$1.50 every half an hour. Their office is located on 3rd floor , down the hall to your right. Inside is average sized clinic office, and the receptionists are mostly friendly. Once you talk to one of the Doctors (in my case Dr Kim) he will listen and guide through your options regarding your concerns. I had a pleasant experience here with Dr Kim, and I will continue to be a customer to them. My insurance covered all medical and i just had to pay $15 copay, so i cant complain! Hopefully i can find solutions to my sleep apnea problem and sleep peacefully and find great nights sleep..Plz....! read more

My elderly mom went to Dr. Kim. He was specifically instructed to not to have her come in for another visit. They called her to come in for an extra visit. Why? So they could bill unnecesarily. My ears were hurting so I called the office and got an appointment right away. Office staff was friendly enough and called me to the back right away. Everyone was in masks and the office was clean so I felt safe. Doctor looked into my ears and prescribed medication. It's been three days and I already feel better. I was very happy it was a quick visit because I really did not want to linger or be around a talkative doctor in the middle of a pandemic. My elderly mother had a confirmed appointment for a serious ear issue that has left her incapacitated. The staff said the doctor was unavailable due to an "emergency." They turned away the other elderly Asian woman who had the appointment time before my mother, but surprisingly the staff welcomed a white patient who had a later appointment time and was taken to see the doctor, who I guess was suddenly available. Whether racist or ageist, this doctor cannot be trusted to even keep an appointment, much less care for your health. And yes, an Asian doctor can be racist against Asian patients. read more

Dr. Kim and his whole staff are EXCEPTIONAL!! I went to him for nasal polys removal and deviated septum surgery. Dr. Kim's professional skills and medical techniques are top of the line. Post surgery, I only had minimum short-term bleeding and no swelling. From the beginning through the entire process and during all my visits, Dr. Kim would thoroughly explain my condition and what he procedures he would be doing. I always felt totally confident in him, and I would recommend Dr. Kim 110%. My experience with Dr. Kim has been a life changer for me as he got me my health and life back. I feel like a new person. About a few months ago I came in for salivary gland stones which had been giving me issues on and off for a few years. I found Dr. Kim on Yelp originally but I also had some recommendations from my local urgent care staff. Upon first arrival and inspection, I was quickly diagnosed and educated about what the rest of my journey would entail. Dr. Kim was very thorough with his explanations and I could tell he wanted me to have as smooth of an experience as possible. We had scheduled surgery and the office staff was flexible in rescheduling appointments that conflicted with other plans. Dr Kim's office is located in an industrial-looking cement building on the corner of Yorba Linda Blvd and Linda Vista Ave. if you don't turn on Linda Vista, you'll drive right past it. I have been to see Dr Kim a few times for a chronic ear issue that I have. He is pleasant, efficient, and caring. His office staff is also friendly and efficient. The wait time to be brought back to the consultation room has never been more than 20, usually less. I highly recommend Dr Kim. read more

Was easy to get a next day appointment during COVID. The doctors in LA said to wait a month to see them. So I drove down to the OC to see Dr. Kim based on all the reviews. The office follows pretty good COVID protocols. My biggest worry was seeing ENT doctors since I know they would have to stick a scope down my throat during these crazy times. But the protocols put me at ease. Dr. Kim seemed very busy, but he was very nice and listened to what I had to say. He prescribed some meds and I was on my way. Just left Dr. Kim's office and I couldn't be happier. Came in for a second opinion as I had an unpleasant visit with the last ENT I was seeing. Found this office with the help of yelp so I owe it to them! Location was easy to find. The staff was very friendly and polite and Dr Kim was outstanding. He was thorough, listened closely to my concerns and provided me with a plan to continue treatment. The visit was quick and very little wait. I got taken back almost immediately upon arrival! Note: I had a bit of trouble finding parking as almost everything is marked/reserved for other offices so just go into the structured parking and the staff at Kim's office will validate your ticket. Writing a review on behalf of my mother, who had a fish bone stuck in her throat. Sound like a minor problem? It would be, if the bone weren't stuck directly into the flesh of her throat, at an angle that made it difficult to dislodge. We tried the obvious solutions: vinegar, marshmallows, sticky rice. Knowing what we know now, this probably exacerbated the problem, and we're glad we didn't go overboard in our attempts at homebrew otolaryngology. Lesson of the day: WikiHow does not a doctor make. Anyway, we're glad we decided to find an ENT instead of waiting it out and hoping the bone would go away on its own. Dr. Kim said the issue was bad enough to warrant a visit to a hospital. My mom, who at this point was tired of waiting for appointments and in quite a bit of pain, asked him to make his best attempt. She is now happily fish bone-free. 5/5 would recommend Dr. Kim. 0/5 would not recommend eating bony fish while distracted. read more

Dr. Kim sat and listened to me during the consultation. I could see he was intently listening. Avoid at all cost. The worst experience ever. The staffs at the desk need some serious training. They won't take any calls when I tried to confirm an appointment time/date for at least 20 times over a span of 4 hrs. When the issue was brought up at the visit, they wouldn't bother to explain why or even try to come up with an excuse. They informed my mom's MRI disc has not been delivered to them when it was shipped out wks ago so my mom had to stop by the imaging center to physically pick up the disc prior to the visit. Yet they did have the disc already. Again, no apologies or explanations offered. Patients mean nothing to them and are simply invisible. Only God knows how this place is still open and running. In my opinion, this place is ridiculously expensive, and money from the patients are only their concern. When I searched a national average cost for ear wax removal procedure, it is $165, but this place charged me $225 which is way more expensive than the national average. When I just entered the office, the receptionist lady asked my credit card first, and she charged me $225 while I didn't even finish writing down my name on the paper work. I saw many patients were waiting and the doctor was in a big rush. He only spent 5 minutes with me. I do not recommend this place to others. read more
