My family loves Jason's Deli and when we had relatives in from out of town, this is where the kids wanted to bring them after going to the zoo. We came in for a bit of a later lunch, around 1:30-2ish. There was plenty of seating BUT, for 6 people (3 kids, 2 teens and an adult), a booth was too tight, I opted to sit at a nearby table and one of the teens joined me. I got the salad bar like I always do, kids got pizza and pasta (penne with marinara and meatballs) and the teens got sandwiches (SANTA FE CHICKEN SANDWICH & CHICKEN CAPRESE PANINI). Everyone enjoyed their meals. The salad bar was clean, fresh and filled. The kids LOVED their meals free ice cream at the end. I know they scarf their meals down quick just so they can have it. I stopped by Jason's Deli about an hour before closing, and sometimes those late visits can surprise you in the sweetest way. The salad bar was still fresh, clean, and full. From far away it did not look like much, but once I made my salad, it turned out to be really delicious. I ordered a half sandwich with a side salad, just something simple. The register does not have a screen facing you, so I did not realize I was charged for a full sandwich and a full salad. I honestly thought they were just being generous since it was close to closing. By the time I realized, it was too late. Even with that mix-up, the food itself was so good. The salad was the star. It was fresh, flavorful, and more than enough, especially since you can go back for seconds. The sandwich was good, but not really needed. It was quiet inside, not very busy. There were a few people standing around outside that made me pause, but inside felt calm and comfortable. My wife and I just left the hospital for a test that she had to fast for over 12 hours. Needless to say she was starving and could not wait to get home or get to a restaurant closer to home. So when I saw Jason's Deli and suggested it she almost jumped out of the car. That was a yes!!! The restaurant was pretty empty but the staff treated us excellently. Questions were answered and the food came out to us quickly. We both ordered the Muffuletta combo sandwich since we had a good experience at the Pasadena, TX restaurant. Man we were definitely not disappointed. That speaks volume for the restaurant's standards to be able to hit the mark not only twice but in restaurants far from each other. The combo plate came with our side orders of chips and a soup. The spicy tortilla soup came out hot and spicy. Just how we liked it. The sandwiches were ham and pepperoni with that awesome muffuletta spread. My only regret is that it was only a half sandwich and the taste was sooo good I could have eaten a full sandwich. My wife said don't even think about it as I eyed her portion. The restaurant was impeccably clean and so were the restrooms. Will we go back? Oh yeah!!! i hate to have to express this, especially as me & my wife enjoyed perfect service with good food...unfortunately our experience soured as the staff allowed two transient people to enter the establishment to get water & ice cream, the issue with this is the transients are traveling with foul odors that permeate, foul spells do effect your eating palette; then by proxy the transients are walking in direct proximity to the salad bar, that is very unhygienic to say the least; then lastly the transients are allowed to touch the soda & ice cream machines, which continues the unhygienic experience...this is very unbecoming of the establishment, unfortunately Jason's cannot serve paying customers who assume the environment meets basic standards of hygiene & those of the transient community at the same time...either set-up an outdoor station they can self serve or have the staff provide items to them outside the establishment (which of course is not ideal), but this current allowance leaves a rather gross experience for customers. Nice place for deli sandwiches. Service was quick and friendly. I did take-out and only had to wait around 5 minutes for my order. I ordered the Caprese Panini. I thought it tasted good and was a nice lunch. My only complaint is that the portion was quite a bit smaller than I expected for a full panini. I have dined in and ordered take out and my orders are always correct. Something I really appreciate. I have had sandwiches (beefeater, California club, turkey wrap, chicken salad...), soups (tortilla, chili, broccoli cheese...), salads (nutty chicken salad), and salad bar and they are all yummy. She was very knowledgeable of the menu, the area and very friendly making my experience very personable and welcoming. It was very clean inside and parking was easily accessible. This was my first time trying this specific location, but I've been going here for many years and this was my first time trying the chicken Alfredo pasta which was recommended to me by a coworker. She described it as creamy and well seasoned so I had to try it for myself. Did not disappoint! Of course, I added a little bit of seasoning to it that's just who I am but overall the creaminess and texture of the Alfredo was good and the portion of chicken was well balanced. I love the house made ruffled chips - they have the perfect crunch factor! The location is convenient, with ample parking.
