I fell in love with Potbelly's in college, and it's still a treat for me long into my adulthood. This particular location is super convenient, and I always have a great experience The interior and exterior are clean. There's plenty of seating and parking. The staff is friendly and helpful. The menu is the standard Potbelly's menu There are options for everyone. If you're super hungry they have heartier options, and if you're feeling just a little peckish, they have more calorie conscious options Some tips: I always enjoy the Wreck, but all the sandwiches are great. You can customize your sandwich in person or through the app. If you're super hungry order online through the app you can have it ready for you (pickup), and you can also get rewards. On your birthday you get a free dream bar or cookie. When I went they were out of dream bars so they offered me 2 cookies which was super kind. Also, they often run BOGO deals or double points days, so, keep an eye out Cheers!!

    Bowl of Mac and Cheese

I got 1 scoop of the MAC and cheese and you call that a bowl?! For the price of $6.59 damn near $7 dollars. Please fill up the container. Why can I see the bottom of the cup if I had 2 bites?! I know that is the standard bowl serving so I'm not made at the team member. I'm made at Potbelly CORPORATION for standardizing 1 SCOOP = A BOWL serving. I had 2 bites and that was it. The mac and cheese was not firm at all. It was mushy like porridge and there was some watery oil like substance at the bottom of the cup. Mac and cheese is supposed to be cheesy and firm. The Mac and cheese was also over cooked and tasted like a plastic bag. I know it comes FROM a plastic bag but I don't need to TASTE the plastic too. The cup of broccoli cheddar tasted nasty. tasted like old ,borderline, rotten broccoli was used to make the broccoli cheddar. The broccoli cheddar was mushy and in bits. Look and tasted goopy. It was completely unappetizing. For $4.89?!! I didn't finished eating the mac and cheese and the broccoli cheddar. I threw both of them away. It was wasn't worth the calories and I wouldn't want any of my family members to be deceived into thinking that the "food" was edible. The prices are barbaric. Honestly nothing at Potbelly is worth the prices that they're advertising. But I just great customer service every time I'm there. I get a smile with each sandwich. I'm not roasting the customer service. I'm roasting the quality of food the Potbelly CORPORATION is making the retail locations serve the public. HOWEVER, the big pizza melt sandwich was delicious! The meat was tasty and the sandwich was toasty! I asked for extra lettuce and they delivered! The turkey sub was just as good! I loved the amount of avocado added to the sub. A lot of places are stingy with their avocado. So I do appreciate the generous amount Potbelly uses. The amount of turkey used was also generous! Potbelly why did y'all change the balsamic vinaigrette?? It was perfect. I tried the new balsamic vinaigrette. It's not terrible, it's okay. But the old one balsamic vinaigrette was richer in flavor. It had more viscosity! It was PERFECT! Who asked you to change it? Is it a money issue? Go ask a bank for a loan and stop asking customers to fund an unneeded, unwanted expenditure! I didn't catch their names but the 2 team members that helped me were very kind and friendly. 10/10 customer service! I would return here for the sandwiches but NOT for Potbelly's mac & cheese, and broccoli cheddar soup. I would also like a refund of the bowl of mac and cheese and cup of broccoli cheddar.

Skunky Monkey must think it's called Pawbelly because she always puts her dirty littery paws all over it and so it ends up in her belly

Know a good belly? That is NOTBELLY It makes me wonder, have you GOTBELLY? Are you even able to SPOTBELLY? And have you even been to POTBELLY? The Williams Sisters won trophies a LOTBELLY My shoelaces keep getting in a KNOTBELLY I had another rhyme but I FORGOTBELLY So if you want a sandwich, go to POTBELLY Barbie charges to slide in her SLOTBELLY And we all know she is the hottest THOTBELLY She didn't get her perfect legs from SQUATBELLYS But she got nice and full right here at POTBELLY So all the Seth Green fans want that SCOTTBELLY And Hollywood could use a better PLOTBELLY Egyptians like that old Anwar SADATBELLY But me I go to Southwest Freeway for POTBELLY The cops all come here, yes even the SWATBELLY They want to date my Barbie? They CANNOTBELLY I'm the only one who can find her G-SPOTBELLY But for food that hits the spot, we come to POTBELLY WHAT BELLY? Not to be confused with Hotbelly, which is what Barbi has especially when she wears her tummy bling, and also what Britney is kinda famous for, those abs and all. I've recently discovered that as far as chains go, these are by far - and I mean by farrrr - the best sandwiches you can get. And this is one of the best locations - anywhere - of said chain. This location is great because of the employees. While they have a couple of apples of questionable taste, so to speak, they're generally the nicest bunch, generous, helpful, and with a couple of real gems working here. Not everyone working here has been nice to us, but generally it's been good. Location is hyperconvenient too, right off the SW FWY close to where we live. This is definitely one of the most delicious sandwich chains there is, in fact when it comes to chains in general, I don't think you will find a better chain than this one. Yes, it's nothing short of wonderful. And I'm shocked to say that, as someone who swears by my avoidance of chains for my regular meals. I come here *at least* once a week now. So why so good? Perhaps because it's from Chicago, and they're making Chicago style sandwiches the way they do, and would, back in Chi-town. They've managed to copy the model of that first sandwich shop in Chicagoland, making them just the way they did back then, and they're making them brilliantly. You can't really get much better than this from a chain. It puts Subway to shame. And all the others too, which themselves are far superior to Subway, but this is far superior to all of them... the Jersey Mike's and the Jimmy John's and the Which Wiches of the world. You could say that those are all the Wiches of Eastwick, and that the yellow brick road leads to Potbelly. So the Italian is the way to go, it's full of delicious spicy lunch meats that taste imported, and all the ingredients are wonderful. The hot peppers are everything, ask for extra on the side... same goes for the pickles. But every topping is excellent. But their pizza sub is excellent and also their chicken bacon cheddar as well. Delicious soups. Good cookies. Even the Gyro wasn't bad when they had it. I have nothing but wonderful things to say about them. Not to be confused with Porkbelly, which is way more hipster and way more expensive too, although this is pretty expensive.

I have a love/hate relationship with Pbelly as a chain. Their corporate mascot hasn't raped young children recently so in the grand scheme of things I feel like Pbelly is doin' better than Subway before you start taking their food into consideration. But Pbelly's corporate slogan is "You gotta get it Hot!" which is especially meme-worthy and seems to comedically make light of all the Americans throughout the course of history (prior to Harry Potter and season three of American Horror Story) that have been burned at the stake by the Christians for allegedly being witches. I guess in a certain way those alleged witches throughout history certainly did get it hot. Just not in the way that Pbelly intended. When I still worked downtown years ago I used to hide out in the Park Shops Pbelly location since it was an actual enclosed resto area with booth table seating to spread out with your laptop, files, and other things - instead of the more kiosk type of vendors that stuck you out at the mall food court-like grouping of tables. It was a sensible second chill office even if 40something (and then 20something) floors lower than your real one up in the sky cave. The relatively new location on Kirby just outside the Village is convenient at times when you are in that area. This one is just off 59 next to The Summit, which was disastrously rebranded from the Dream Team to Team Osteen. If ball is life then Osteen killed ball when he turned full court press into anti-gay sermons, to the tune of wild fanfare in the Houston area. I started off my Greenway Pbelly experience a bit miffed seeing as I could not find a parking spot anywhere near the resto on the western edge of the strip mall. After circling for a while I finally found one at the complete east end of the strip mall nestled up near the church. That is a helluva long walk. As Houstonians we are not a walking people, so this was a great offense. However, busy/tiny parking lot issues aside, once you step foot inside it is all good in the hood. This Pbelly is actually well cleaned and operated with an eye towards cleanliness which means this is a flagship spot for the chain. No two hour old sandwiches dot the landscape of gently used tables; every table is cleared ASAP and cleaned. There are not crumbs all over the place like Hansel & Gretel went wild trying to remember where they parked their car. Even the waiting line and the counter you order at are not sticky with spilled soda or coated with what I hope is mayo, or some other guy that frequented the Park Shops location really, really liked sandwiches even more than I do and he couldn't just simmer down as he waited in line for his A Wreck. Pbelly food is very standard which I like that the menu is the same in this town as any other town I am in where I am brought to a location of this chain. The main standout for the chain is the hot peppers. I am so masculine I tolerate heat well (all ladies trynna slide into my DMs now) but compared to Jimmy Johns and all other sandwich purveyors, these hot peppers are the closest thing to hot. I always order extra hot peppers. I never get it hot enough where I want it to be - hot enough that I am on the ground crying like a little bitch and need a trip to the ER - but this is really the closest I am going to get from a chain. So they crush it compared to JJ, Quizno, and other attempts at hot peppers. As far as the menu goes: the Italian is my favorite because I am part Italian Stallion. When I talk I use my hands. My hands emote in a way that would impress legendary actor/space lobster Harold Zoid and my hands make points when I am talking. This is 100% Italian related science. The Italian sammich, even in the regular size, comes loaded down with the capicola, mortadella, pepperoni, salami and provolone cheese. Add in some hot peppers and you got yourself a stew, baby. Pbelly takes a real chill pill on the pickle situation that angers Chris Porter so much in the deli/sammich purveying shop context. Unlike JJ, which amusingly my yelp biz photo of a JJ pickle is the lead prof pic for the Greenway JJ, I am not even sure it is an option to get one here. They were trying to shill the milkshakes pretty hard in line, and add avocado to your sammich for extra money, but they were not leading with the pickle game at all. Pbelly is an odd amalgamation of nu-deli in many ways. The hot peppers are a nice touch. The Italian sammich is pretty good considering the brand name doesn't end with a real vowel. Even better take into account the reasonable price point to get a huge sammich for less than $6. Ted Cruz attempted to speak Spanish on international television a few weeks ago with the ominpresent Donde esta la biblioteca? But Friendly Neighbor Donald is a more sensible man and I imagine if he ever attempted to speak Italian on international television he would say something more along the lines of Tu sei il sole del mio giorno. The Italian can make America great again.

I had been disappointed by another Potbelly store before. I honestly wasn't even sure I wanted to order due to previous experiences. But I was here for an event and figured let's give it another try.... I was blown away! Quick and friendly, the customer service was outstanding (thank you Pedro). I didn't even know what I wanted, just described what I was looking for, when I got home and opened my sandwich it was perfect! This experience has changed my mind about Potbelly, I will be back! (In addition to the awesome service they were very clean, however I did not check the bathrooms).

The pork was seasoned well and had good flavor from the marinade. The cilantro, pickled onions, jalapeno, all were so fresh and vibrant! And I was able to get homemade chips and fresh strawberries as my side - such a refreshing bite the strawberries after a rich, porky, spicy bite from the sandwich. Can't say enough good! Before their recent expansions to Austin, it all began here in Rice Village exactly 15 years ago. The vibes are contemporary and casual, with the kind of space that fits for just about any scenario. Whether it's a solo meal, a lunch date, or a group led affair, the experience is almost always an excellent one. Start by ordering at the counter and find a seat where the food will brought directly to the table. So much of their variety caters to all sorts of dietary restrictions from vegan to gluten free to nut free. Their spicy crispy brussels sprouts ($10) are a nice starter, as is the squash "onion" rings ($12). The local power bowl ($16) is a classic and I've always enjoyed the brown rice and quinoa combo. Their chicken "posolé" is solid, and I love the large hominy bits along with the clear but green tint of a broth. The chicken shawarma bowl ($20) is an interesting mix that includes pickled beets and strawberries, along with their market cheddar burger ($17) and fabulous twice cooked fries. The carrot cupcake is strangely addicting, and I think their gluten free brownie is a bit of a sleeper. Some of their items didn't jive with me previously, such as an underwhelming cashew queso ($9), a semi-laughable Vietnamese steak bowl ($22), and their semi-gringo version of a banh mi ($15). It's not that these items are bad per se, but they definitely don't live up to the same standard that I feel their other dishes do best. Where they hit the biggest home run is their customer service. Everyone working behind the counter does their best to deliver and they almost always do by staying on top of refills, cleanups, and customer greets. I've always enjoyed my experiences here and look forward to every visit.

This one was equally wonderful with the outdoor seating area that was perfect for conversations and relaxing. The lights back there are lovely and plenty of space to not be disturbed. The food...EXCELLENT!! I had the pistachio encrusted salmon dish that was as good as it gets!! See pic. My friends had the quinoa burger and a chicken bowl of some sort. We all loved everything!! Oh, and the vegan carrot cake muffin was OOTW!!!

Parking can be tight depending on the time/day. This location feels like it has more indoor seating and a better patio than The Heights which is more exposed to the outdoor elements off the trails. I couldn't remember if I'd been here before until old photos I posted showed. I'm used to The Heights location which is closer to me. It's been about 5 years when I first moved to the loop that I went here with a friend. I had the OG Brussels sprouts which were my favorite when they still had Benjy's in Rice Village. It was a staple for 25 years. They closed in 2020 to expand Local Foods. Pretty bummed because Benjy's was great and had an amazing pecan-crusted goat cheese appetizer with pita. It had more of a cocktail lounge vibe that my friends and I would frequent back in grad school for HH. They had another location off Washington, but that is also closed and is now Forget Me Not. Anyways, the Brussels sprouts were amazing, and I always loved them. I'm glad that Local Foods occasionally features it as a special. I usually gravitate towards the crunchy chicken sandwich. The pretzel bun is everything, and the filling is loaded. If you have a bit allergy, this is not for you. It has pecans in them. I like the added potato chips, too. This time I tried the tacos de camote which was a sweet potato taco. I couldn't find any photos of it on this Yelp page, but I've had sweet potato tacos before in Scottsdale and was hooked. I didn't expect two large wedges on sweet potato lodged in a taco shell. It was delicious and carmelized. You could hear the crunchy outside texture. Loved that. What I didn't love was the difficulty of eating it. The wedges were huge, and the sweet potato was too hot and steamy. It would've been better had they been diced. The pumpkin seed mixture was good but too spicy with the jalapeños. I like spicy food but didn't expect that. The tacos needed salsa or crema to cut through the heat. I picked off the jalapeños and fork and knifed the sweet potato after a few bites with the taco shell. The taco itself is a blue nixtamilized corn tortilla. It held up the taco filling fairly well considering the huge wedge of sweet potato. It also dripped the oil off the sweet potato. I couldn't taste much of the refried beans. I liked these tacos, but it was a little too spicy and didn't have the acid it needed to make it better. I ate the sweet potatoes and nixed the tortillas. As for the sides, I usually get the kale salad because theirs doesn't taste like dirt. Lol. They add enough lemon, pine nuts, golden raisins and Parmesan cheese to make it taste better. I could eat a bowl of that. It's always served in a tiny container. I also get their homemade potato chips. It's dusted with Old Bay seasoning. It can be oily at times, though. This time, I tried a seasonal side of strawberries that was recommended by the guy at the register. It was delicious. The strawberries were soaked in a slightly sweet simple syrup with chopped basil. They have a variety of lemonades, tea, fountain drinks, cocktails and refrigerated beverages to choose from. Lemonade can be too sweet, so I dilute it with ice and water. I like that it's open with the cups and plastic to-go cups if that's your preference. I've always enjoyed what Local Foods offers and like that they offer vegetarian, vegan and gluten free options. Service is friendly, and it's a nice, casual place to dine in or on the patio.

We tried the chicken kabab pita, beef pita, chicken shawarma pita. I recommend all three. The chicken kabab meat was perfectly tender and so flavorful. The hot sauce is a must!! We also had their fries which were perfectly crisp and seasoned. Hummus was so authentic and the quality was 10/10-def no filler ingredients. Lentil soup was delicious and hearty. Roasted potatoes were also so tasty! Overall, it is delicious food with quality ingredients and premium flavor! I will definitely be returning!

It's a cute casual, order at the counter setup with plenty of booths and tables, plus a few outdoor spots in front. We kept it simple and ordered the chicken kebab hummus bowl and the chicken kebab salad bowl. Both were great. They were fairly similar, but we agreed the hummus bowl had a slight edge. There were a lot of other items on the menu that sounded fantastic. The food quality was great and the staff was kind. Honestly, this feels like a place that will probably make its way into our monthly rotation. My only small critique is that it's a little on the pricey side. Around $21 each for a bowl is a bit high for a casual Saturday lunch for me. (But with that said, still excited to come back!).

Brad, my nephew, who is not a foodie, wanted to pick a restaurant that was reasonably close to all of us. He decided on Hungry's in the village. I said fine only because I wanted to take Melvin out and food was not the important criteria. Ok, about the restaurant. In a word, the food was in the pedestrian class of places that I would have picked. Looking at the menu beforehand I looked for something that the restaurant couldn't screw up. My three choices were Meatloaf with mash potatoes and green beans, Chicken Fried Steak with mash potatoes and green beans, and Chicken Pot Pie with yes you guessed it. Melvin went for the meatloaf, Brad chose a meat and chicken kabob that I hope was better than it looked, and my wife, a.k.a.,Love Muffin chose the trout that was smothered with Pineapple salsa and other stuff Personally, I don't like food that is smothered in anything. The food, as I expected, was mediocre. The waitstaff were very friendly, polite, and came right away after noticing all our waving hands that were visible over a lot of empty tables. The only redeeming quality was that for the four of us the bill was $155.00 including wine. As they say, you get what you pay for. It's not fine dining but if you have a large family and a budget, you can't go wrong with Hungry's for dinner.
