Brunch before MRI appointment for hubby.... The counter associate was truly friendly. We ordered the manager special with soup . I'm still on the light meal due to the oral surgery, so the broccoli in the soup was tender enough for me to mash and swallow..... Me- turkey club/broccoli soup, hubby steak club/spicy gumbo soup . Let's see how this tastes. My soup was the great.... needed this spot, and you know Jason Deli is going to always give that pickle for cleanser, lol yes love it!!!!! Oh yea' the hubby had to have that brownie, "can you wait til I take a picture of it ?"..... lol

IT'S BACK Caprese Panini Regular
Karina R.

I was excited to see the caprese panini on the menu since I was a fan of Panera's modern caprese sandwich. I don't live in the Montgomery area, and I don't have any restaurants near me that offer a caprese sandwich. It was a good panini. There were no qualities that made it above and beyond, but i also have no complaints about it. Though I have to add that if you are considerably hungry, this panini will not fill you up as it is smaller than the meaty sandwiches on the menu. I am a petite woman, and I ordered my food while my hunger was at a normal level. It sadly did not fill me up. I expected this from a panini. We waited a good 15 minutes for our food once we placed the order. It did not seem busy inside. My dad loved his Reuben, and my brother enjoyed his deli club. They both finished their sandwiches. I would come here again, but I would probably try a different menu item so that I do not have to order extra food to fill me up. That's no problem considering there were many items from their wide selection that seemed appetizing!

I'm really glad Jason's Deli is doing so well. I used to come here all the time in college, then the quality went down a bit. But my sister came in from out of town and ordered food from here. It was really good. So I went back with my daughter and nephew and it's good again. Maybe management changed or ownership. But whatever happened it's nice to know I have a place to get a great bowl of soup and salad again. They also have some new menu items I might try. This recent busy I got a grilled cheese and cup of seafood gumbo. I like their gumbo because it doesn't have sausage in it. It's perfectly spicy and not too salty. The grilled cheese was good as well and the salad bar looked well kept and clean.

These guys saved the day. No they really did. There was a tornado and storm headed our way so they closed early to let their employees get home to their families. But before they left they let us in the restaurant to buy a pound of chili to go and then we were on our way. We really needed a good chili base. Just threw the chili in the crock pot with one jar of jalapenos, juice and all, and let it simmer until lunch. Good stuff! The rest of their menu looked good too.

Royal club

Stoped by here today as i was traveling to Montgomery. I had the royal club. The food was good and really liked the crescent roll it was served on. This place reminds me of a newks. I have to say service was pretty fast. Took all of 5 minutes to get the food.... Except mine. 4 people behind me got their food first... Even the guy i was with... After 17 minutes AND going to the counter to say ahhh you forgot my food... I was finally served. Tip for first time folks, you get free ice cream with your meal.. But after having the royal club there was not enough room. Having said all that i gave them 3 stars, food is good but not spectacular, service for the folks they did not forget, 4 stars.... Overall, a decent place to grab a bite around 11 bucks.

Pastrami on Rye

This Jason's deli is near Woodmere Boulevard and Eastern Boulevard. Immediately when we walked in, we could tell that they took a lot of pride in keeping the restaurant clean. There was plenty of seating and this being a Jason's deli franchise it looked very similar all the rest. Every one of the restaurant employees were very polite. The young lady that took our order was very patient with us as we were indecisive about whether not we wanted soup. She even made some good suggestions for us. The person who delivered our plates did so with the big smile and asked us if there was anything else we would like. The sandwiches were very good and we also had a bowl of French Onion soup. We happen to be fans of pastrami on rye and were not let down. And I really enjoyed the French onion soup. We would definitely suggest this Jason's deli.

Great place for lunch or a light dinner. The salad bar is always clean and stocked with fresh ingredients. I recommend the Texas spud, Nutty mixed up Salad and the chicken pot pie soup....but everything is good. Employees are friendly and quick. Free ice cream for the kids and those that are "young at heart".

Southwest Taco Salad
Andrea T.

Why order soup and a salad when you can get soup on a salad? Many customers are fans of the salad bar, soups and sandwiches at Jason's Deli but my favorite pick is the Southwest Taco Salad. They pour crave-worthy chicken chili onto a bed of mixed greens and blue corn tortilla chips. Then they top that with guacamole, sour cream, salsa, pico de gallo and Southwest spices. The ingredients are remarkably high quality for a fast food place. They use thick chunks of grilled chicken in the chili. The lettuce is always vibrant green and the blue corn chips are Garden of Eatin brand. As you can see from the photo...it's a mammoth portion. I've never been able to finish the entire salad in one sitting. After checking their online nutrition calculator I know why. The fully loaded model with every topping comes out at 1000+ calories! But by cutting some of the add-ons (guac, sour cream, etc.) I can knock down the calorie count by a few hundred. They make it easy for you use the calculator to tweak menu offerings. You can make healthier choices about calorie, fat, sugar and salt intake here: http://www.jasonsdeli.com/nutrition/nutrition-calculator. I almost always dine in even when I'm on the highway. The restaurant is clean, seating is plentiful and they deliver orders to the tables. Another dine in bonus is soft serve ice cream (chocolate and vanilla) in sugar cones. It's self-serve and complimentary with the meal. Ultimately, I'm a fan of Jason's Deli because they strike the right balance between healthy and tasty. Everything I've tried over the years has been inexpensive, reasonably healthy and delicious.

I ordered the grilled chicken sandwich and a plate of char-grilled hot wings. The sandwich was the highlight for me. The chicken was juicy and well-seasoned, with a nice char on the outside that gave it great flavor without being dry. The bun was fresh and held everything together without falling apart halfway through (which I always appreciate). It felt like a well-balanced, thoughtfully made sandwich rather than something rushed. The char-grilled hot wings were flavorful with a smoky finish from the grill. They had a good kick -- not overwhelmingly spicy, but enough heat to keep things interesting. A couple of them were slightly on the smaller side, but the taste definitely made up for it. The atmosphere was relaxed and lively without being too loud. Service was friendly and attentive, though we did wait a bit longer than expected for our food during a busy stretch. Nothing dramatic, just noticeable. Overall, it's a place I'd happily return to -- good food, good vibe, and consistent quality. A strong 4 stars from me.

I had the Lobster Spinach Queso, it was very flavorful. Was looking for more of a crunch to the chips, but otherwise very flavorful. I had the Chilean Sea Bass, w/ seasonal ancient grains and vegetables. The Chilean Sea Bass was also very flavorful, different than what I'm use to but delicious nonetheless. I believe the seasonal ancient grains and vegetables would have been better paired with some type of gravy or sauce. I also had (the best part of my meal) the 5 Layer Lemon Cake, with the blueberry topping...soooo good! The ambiance was light and celebratory! Kudos again to India! In fact none of it is. My date's steak although wrapped in bacon, was extremely salty. I had the Shrimp & Grits .. and man The andouille sausage was AMAZING. Shrimp was a bit tough. But the grits? The worse plate of grits I've ever had in my life. It was utter mush, which is okay if that's how you cook it but it's supposed to be cheese grits and I didn't taste anything cheese about it. No seasoning. Grease around the edges. I literally got a little nauseous looking at it after a while because I thought of how that would upset my stomach. No offense but if you're going to claim to be this fine dining restaurant, at least put out the quality in food.. Other than that the setting and environment was pretty chill. And also cold but that's okay, it is super hot outside. We will not be returning.

Because of that history, it is disappointing to say that my most recent experience left me seriously questioning whether I will continue to patronize this establishment. When placing a large catering order and spending a substantial amount of money, I expected to be treated as a valued customer. Instead, the attitude from management made me feel more like a nuisance than someone supporting their business. Customer service should reflect appreciation for patrons, especially those making significant purchases and returning year after year. The food may still be good, but great food alone does not make for a great customer experience. Respect, professionalism, and gratitude toward customers matter just as much. Long-time customers should never leave feeling as though their business is an inconvenience. It is unfortunate because I have many fond memories associated with Chappy's Deli, but experiences like this make it difficult to justify continuing to spend my hard-earned money where it does not seem to be appreciated.

During our last two visits--despite the restaurant not being very busy--service was slow and lacked urgency. The staff were very nice and friendly, but expeditious service didn't seem to be a priority. It felt like the issue could be a mix of limited staffing, lack of training, or simply a lack of urgency. Drinks were slow to arrive, sometimes missing, and often left empty. The ambiance is typical for a BBQ restaurant, but the space could benefit from better cleaning and a more vibrant reorganization. Our group of 12 was seated in the back, which felt more like a storage area or a closet than a proper dining space. With improvements in service efficiency and some attention to the atmosphere, the overall experience could be much better.
