Me and my companion came here on Easter Sunday to grab a bite to eat since we hadn't been here in awhile and I gotta say that we were really really disappointed. I had half a reuben and potato soup and my companion had half of a chicken salad sandwich with broccoli cheddar soup. Both of our soups were ice cold and my reuben was cold. We ended up asking to have the soups and my sandwich reheated but it didn't really help, they were still cold. Service wasn't really the best either, they seemed to be annoyed by us being there. We made a quick stop in Prattville for food, and McAlister's sounded good. We've had great experience getting food fast at other locations. There were six workers total, maybe 7 people total in the store eating or waiting for food. One person at the register, one behind the main counter (texting and leaving to use the bathroom), two preparing food (technically one standing there), and another two just walking around and talking in the back. It took 10 minutes to place our order another 20 for our food. The girl who kept texting behind the counter and leaving to use the restroom was not wearing gloves or washing her hands between phone use to touch prepared food. When we received the food it was thrown haphazardly in the box. The kids meal cookie was literally crumbles and thrown into Saran Wrap. Don't get me started on the bathrooms. I have been to truck stop gas stations cleaner than this! Even the schedule on the back of the door didn't have any listed cleaning times. Which makes sense as I don't know if they've ever been cleaned. Maybe you may have better luck at a different time of day than we went (weekday around dinner time). But I would not recommend. Food and tea were decent. Customer service (girl on phone definitely didn't want to be there with her response to other customers). First time ever to a McAlister's. Really quite good. Pleasantly satisfied. The restaurant has a nice ambiance, nicely lit, music above, and comfortably spaced layout. I had the Spicy Chicken sandwich... excellent. Nice mix lightly spiced chicken, guacamole, corn... on a tasty bun with some steamed broccoli. My colleague had a spicy turkey melt. We were looking for a restaurant with cleaner food options after living off of fast food while traveling through the week. McAlisters offered the perfect choices for my family's. Soups, salads, sandwiches, and all types of kids menu options without giving them yet another plate of chicken nuggets and Mac and cheese! I was a little disappointed to see that their AMAZING Greek Salad is was no longer offered but the Caesar Chicken salad was a good substitute. My boys enjoyed their sandwiches. We waited 30-45 minutes for food and then when it came it was cold because it had been sitting on the counter for 10 minutes before anyone brought it to us. Then the sandwich was either half full or lazily put together. I'd give it 1 star but the food was decent like usual once you got it and overlooked it being cold. Not as expected. Three ladies stopped in for supper about 7pm. We ordered 3 different items and they were each disappointing. One ordered a sandwich that she has often at her neighborhood McAlister's. Order was off and she was brought a club sandwich. She noticed on the bill that she was also charged extra for tomato soup which the server made her think it was an option for a side( included in the price ) not so. Next, one of my group ordered the chopped salad. She was brought a regular salad ( not chopped at all) and the salad greens were way past their prime. Finally, I ordered a garden salad with a scoop of chicken salad. Same tired salad greens. Discolored and the chicken salad was not chilled and very runny. Our experience...we have a handicapped daughter. As sad as it is, in Prattville there's a lot of restaurants and their employees that are taken back by her and act accordingly. Not McAlisters Deli! We've never felt so welcome and treated better. The staff went above and beyond with her and even interacted with her. This is a restaurant with good management or they hire good people. Either way we'll always be a fan. The food is amazing and it's always clean. McAlisters Deli in Prattville is definitely the place to have great food in a clean environment with a staff that truly goes above and beyond. read more

I have had many, many bad McAlister's experiences over the last few years. They set a very high bar 20 years ago and struggled to maintain with growth IMO. But, this location was great. I was at McAlister's Deli on July 1 around 1pm. The cashier was not friendly or helpful. She seemed bored and irritated that we were bothering her. When she said choices of chips, she rushed and was difficult to understand. The menu board font description of items was impossible for me to read with or without my glasses so I ended up with an item I did not like. The woman who brought our food chastised us for not displaying our order number correctly, when no one told us how it was to be displayed! I ordered an item that was advertised as gluten free because I have Celiac Disease. The server handed our plates with her thumbs on the eating surface, which can cause cross-contamination. I did get sick. I realize that McAlister's does not claim certified gluten free items so I should have not taken a chance. Not Celiac friendly, just FYI. read more

The measure of any good deli is their Reuben. McAlister's Reuben is spectacular! It was hot and juicy. McAlister's also has the best potato salad of any of the delis I visit. Great iced tea, too. I always get the tea. There used to be a McAlister's in Montgomery but Montgomery has a bad habit of not supporting better restaurants. I have to drive twenty miles to Prattville to get to Steak 'N Shake and McAlister's Deli. McAlister's is well worth the drive. I will be back... early and often. read more
