We actually didn't eat here. We left because of the service. When we came into the restaurant we weren't sure what to do. There was no signage that we should wait or seat ourselves. It looked like a deli so after waiting a couple of minutes and no one telling us they would be with us we sat down. After about five minutes I went up front to see if we should have sat down. One of the employees said to another employee that I was talking to "I don't even know what they are doing. They just came in and sat down without talking to me." His tone was very rude. I honestly was caught off guard and the person we were talking to said he would be right with us. We witnessed two other people come in and the rude guy yelled across the restaurant how many. When a party of seven came in he seemed upset that there were seven people in their party. We decided after all the interactions we would just leave. read more

Beggars can't be chooser's in February on Ocracoke Island. That being said, Jason's offered friendly service and decent grub. I would come back again. If you happen to stop in, the spinach and artichoke appetizer is delicious but probably dangerously unhealthy. Pizza was pretty good and the fish sandwich was OK. Very reasonably priced. Had the fish of the day and the wife had a steak and cheese. Was very surprised when the meal came and you couldn't have fresher fish or any more real steak. Cooked perfectly and flavors ran strong. Also the atmosphere is something that was great to me. Was very welcoming and the staff was great. If you are hungry on Ocracoke then get over here. If you're thinking of going to Howard's, forget it and go across the street to Jason's. If you miss the bar feel, just close your eyes for a second and remember your favorite bar chain. read more

Tuesday - Oct 22, dinner. Heard that this is one of 3 favorite spots by locals - other 2 are across the street. Very layed back place. Serivce pretty good - had special hummus w/roasted peppers for appretizer, small pizza, crab cake sandwich & 2 beers. $35 w/o tip. Hummus dish was quite large and came with pizza crust bread that was very tasty. Pizza was average - nothing special. Crab cake is make with alot of backfin meat, not lump crab - do not have a boiler so it's either fried or grilled - opted for grilled. Crab cake was average, again not great which I did expect - but then again I am from MD. Wished that server would have state soup of the day because I found out later after ordering that the soup was crab of corn soup - it did look pretty good - but couldn't try because of the amt of food already ordered. Overall, I would go back and try some other items. It was busy with locals, so other items mut be pretty good along with other reviews that I have read. read more

We eat at Jason's every time we come to Ocracoke. They have AMAZING fried shrimp! The batter is light and delicious and love the tarter sauce and cocktail sauce. Plus the key lime pie is to die for. Never been disappointed. In my opinion, best pizza on Ocracoke, but I go there for the steak sandwich. This isn't your run of the mill cheesesteak. This is a 3/8" thick steak on a roll, with your choice of cheese and toppings. We also love the Artichoke dip, served with lightly toasted pizza dough chips (instead of traditional pita chips). I could eat this stuff for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Fish of the day when we were there was Spanish Mackerel. My daughter had it grilled, and it came out very nicely. Perfectly cooked. Small, casual dining restaurant on the main road into Ocracoke. We stopped here, at random, for dinner. The atmosphere is very laid back and self seating with a choice of inside or on the screened porch. Started off a little rocky when my mother ordered a diet Pepsi. After getting her drink my mother told us that it tasted odd. I tasted it myself. Seemed like a mixture issue more than anything. However, when she informed the waitress she was met with an abrupt "Well that's from our fountain. Did you want something else or what?". On the bright side, that was the only negative I had for my experience. Our food and drinks were at our table quickly and the waitress was on top of things making sure we had our drinks topped off and additional garnishes/condiments. The food wasn't outstanding, but it was good. We ordered pretty standard fare. My wife and father both had fried crab cakes with no complaints. I had the "Uncle Bunkle " sandwich. The chicken could have used some seasoning, otherwise I had no.problem with it. Overall, the experience was good. If I was in the area I would return for another meal. read more

Group of 11 stop in for lunch on Thursday. We decided on Jason's because we had a good experience there last year and guess what we were not disappointed. We had 1 member of the group who has a gluten allergen and Jason's has a decent Gluten Free menu. She decided on a sandwhich and said it was the best a Gluten free sandwhich she has had. The majority of us got the Uncle Bunkle sandwhich and it was outstanding. Server was great and on top of everything. There are not words to describe how much I love Jason's! My family of four ate there for lunch one day in July; I'll never forget...the advertised special written on the chalkboard at 11:30 in the morning in this crowded little restaurant was "10 cent hot wings" - and they were out of them! We all begrudgingly ordered something different each, and to be honest I don't remember what any of us ordered, but we all ate off of each others plates and couldn't get enough. AMAZING!! The best food for dinner we've had on the island, and we've been to Howard's, Back Porch, and Diajios. Jason's seafood trio was excellent. Flounder was so fresh and prepared perfectly. Crab cake was also prepared perfectly. The side dishes surprised us too. Best cole slaw we've had on the island! Service was excellent. This is a quaint little place. We dined inside due to extreme heat outside. They have a good size porch, but recommend dining inside during the heat of summer. read more
