Attended Jason's Woods honestly as an afterthought on Saturday night October 10, 2015, after visiting another nearby Halloween attraction. Since my drive home is 3 hours away I was glad that I visited and didn't make a special trip out only for Jason's Woods. I did pay for the VIP ticket and felt it was worth the extra money. I did encounter rude staff but at the end of the night understood why. It is important that you visit the attractions in the specific order on your ticket because each attraction is closed for the night in that order as well. If you start at the bottom and work up then you will certainly miss the attractions you were intended to visit first. That was not explained to me when I tried to enter the one with no line "NO you cannot come in here until AFTER you go in that one!" At the time all I could think of was WTF? Although buckets of money have not been spent on props and sets this is still an enjoyable night with friends and I absolutely would recommend it. Please do not discount it based upon the other reviews. Surprisingly the best attractions of the night were the 2 trailers (for extra $ - both for $5): Wizard of Oz and (I think) Black Hole? WOW - I found those both to be intensely more frightening than all the other attractions combined because these 2 trailers required you to walk through alone. Both had great soundtracks inside (Wizard of Oz with the well know movie score and the other with Pink Floyd "Is There Anybody Out There?" PERFECT song choice) and you knew before going in that there was only one actor in there with you. Navigate the black hallways slowly, the music playing, occasional lights flash on and randomly the actor is waiting for you to come near him - fantastic! read more

Happened by here last October while in Lancaster for my niece's wedding. I can't say how impressed I am by the size of this place. It is enormous! They have 4 or 5 haunted houses that are the size of any of the local haunts I love to visit so I was in Haunt heaven. The quality never drops from show to show. The attention to detail is quite good and the actors are fun and funny. At times they seem to throw a switch from scary to amusing. I really appreciate when someone continues to try to entertain when their act is over. These guys really thing they are monsters. The hayride is pretty neat and surrounded by all sorts of twisted metal and unique creatures. There are tons of fireballs and big scares. Fun but not the scariest thing ever. The Chamber of Horrors is a linear maze that reminds me of the old style haunted houses. However it is loaded to the gills with noise, light and scary well done makeups Some of the scenes are very detailed and creepy others let your imagination work for you. The actors fit in to the show very well. The old man with all the meat was my favorite, he scared my niece to death. I can't stress enough how much fun we had here last season and I may make the drive at Halloween this year just to see it again! read more

Again another throwback from my college days, but we went again last year as we tried to hit as many haunts as we could... I cannot tell you how much is new and fresh compared to other events we visited. The show has a horrific ambiance that simply does not exist at other haunts. The staff was very nice and fun and accepted our coupons with no qualms or regrets, it is very reasonably priced at 20 bucks with the coupon and we were there for a couple of hours. There is a zany funness that permeates everything they do...mean clowns, horrible clowns, weird 3d pirate people, giant pigmen, people whispering in your ear and knowing your name (Somehow) it was a very intimate experience. I was actually startled quite a few times but what most impressed me is how bizarre the place is. There is nothing there that looks like it was store bought or unimagined. Jason's Woods is one of the all time family traditions my folks and I have when I go back home. Last year we made it out on opening night and it was still consistently fun! It looks to me like a lot of the negative reviews are from people promoting another halloween show near Jason's, which is a good show as well. Just a crummy way to make a name is all. Jason's is all about fun and when they can't scare you the actors really want to interact. They don't wear big rubber masks and have A+ makeup which rivals a lot of the things I see in corporate haunts on the west coast. Highlights last year included the Chamber of Horrors which was very loud and exciting, the flayed man who chased us through the last half was especially awesome. Also 20$ with a coupon from Wawa, is a really good deal for 3 full size haunts and a free additional pre show. We were there for about 2.5 hours and enjoyed the country atmosphere. read more

I went this past weekend. We drove two hours to get there. When you arrive you will notice it is not professional. Some of the attractions are truck trailers. There were no signs telling you the order of the attractions or whats what. so we decided to stand in the longest line thinking it was the hayride. The line is easily 2 1/5 hour wait and your standing in the dark. A line from another attraction is starting to fade into our line. Lines are criss crossing, people are leaving to go to the bathroom, then just coming back into the line. It was a joke. Im comparing this to Frightfest, Bates Motel, ect . I bought the grand slam 5 attractions for $40. Thats the same price as your TOP competition in the area. Your billboards and promotion is very well done. I do feel like I was ripped off a bit. I believe your going to get alot of unhappy people coming your way. read more

My friends and I drove an hour and a half this past weekend to visit Jason's Woods for the first time. It was well worth the money! Starting out at the door, the staff was very kind and helpful with showing us where to go. Everyone was friendly, even the pretty girl from the theater who later came down and talked to our group. Their main attractions were very scary with characters everywhere! I didn't see much of the zombie one because I had to close my eyes through most of. My whole group loved the cornfield, we all ended up running out of it screaming. Such a rush! The circus was intense, those clowns are crazy and everywhere! The one in the last scene and the big red clown were the creepiest of them all! It was great. We are already planning our trip back next year and can't wait to go again. read more

I just went tonight and I must say I really wish I could get my money back!!!! Its not a great attraction at all!!! Its not scary nor fun even these group of little kids I saw didn't get scared! They hardly have any characters at all and it just completly blows! I will never go back again! Trust me when I mean its pointless I mean I rather sit there and just fall asleep! This place should honestly be shut down for good its worthless!!!! If you want a real haunted attraction to go to then go to field of screams and pay 35$ per ticket for all 4 attractions its much scarier and even though its 4 attractions it will take you about 2 hours to get threw all of them! Seems to me that this place is obsessed with change. Everytime I have ever been here (which is quite a lot probably 15 times) the show is freshened up with new shows and entertainment. I remember when they advertised 8 shows years ago and there were 4 real haunts and a bunch of trailers, last year they advertised 6 and all of them were full blown haunted houses. We spent like 4 hours here doing things. Not waiting in lines but doing things. The kids in the group had a blast on the inflatable rides and the paintball and laser tag were fun. The show itself has so much stuff to talk about and remember, my friends and I spend a lot of time saying "Remember that time at Jason's Woods when..." truly blessed to have such a landmark in little old Lancaster. read more

Jason's have been around for a quarter of a century and that happened in that time is Michael Myers got obese and Jason slowed down, did not see Freddy or any other famous characters. They did keep the lines moving but for the 40.00 a ticket for the six attractions a bit overpriced for the lack of thrill and scare. The pre-show was an absolute joke and if we would have had to pay for it, would really be pissed with some women dressed as a vampire/zombie and a low budget film (that looks like our local kindergarten class made it) truly made people laugh. The hayride was boring, Zombieland was a corn maze with a few attempted scares. The actors were somewhat bad and the props were even worse. We won't be back ever! read more

Jason's Woods is a must see haunted attraction for the Halloween season. They are the originators in the Lancaster PA area everyone else is second best in my opinion!! Their attractions are very creative and you can tell that alot of passion is behind the design of each attraction, characters and props definitely not store shelf stuff! If you want to get a good scare while having tons of fun!! Then make sure you check them out!! Oh and by the way they make the best Burgers at the food barn!! I have been going there for over ten years and each time is a new fun filled experience.. Don't listen to negative reviews I highly recommend you check it out for yourself .. Absolutely love Jasons Woods!!! It is the best haunted attraction in the lancaster/central pa area. The actors are totally scary, and the props are A+!! I congratulate the Jasons Woods staff on year after year delivering scares that are top notch. The food is also great as well, plus the celebrities they have...you just cant compare with others! Awful!!!!!!! So I unprofessional! The Its a 10 dollar ticket not $40!!! Such a scam!! No guidance, no signs, just a backyard liitle thing in someones woods. I felt like I was in a weird Rob Zombie movie for a second! We didnt stay the line was outrageous and you were in the dark. Kids cutting lines ect. No thanks!! WE lost $80 and drove 2 hours!!!! I just came across our tickets for Jasons Woods last year and wanted to put a review for the great time we had. We go every year and the new Chamber of Horrors show is outstanding. There was constant entertainment throught out all the shows it was fun and very entertaining. Can't wait to go again this year and see what's new. read more
