When looking up breakfast spots in HHI, Java Burrito caught my attention due to the great reviews and fun coffee bar/ burrito joint combo. Went here with a group of friends and was at first overwhelmed by the delicious smells and fun chalkboard of various menu offerings. I loved seeing a customization burrito bar setup that allows for breakfast burritos. I opted for a Pork & Egg Burrito (would have wanted bacon & egg but the pricing for bacon seemed odd as it was "$1.50 more", when all the meat options were different prices?) I customized my burrito with white rice, black beans, queso, sour cream, pico and tomatillo salsa. I also got a Churro Iced Latte with Oatmilk (thought it was a little odd that they charged extra for it to be iced, but I don't drink hot coffee so I didn't care lol). The first bite of my burrito, the first sip of my coffee both made me audibly "yum" in excitement. It's been days and I'm STILL dreaming of that burrito. What a great place! I was a little suspicious because who would make a coffee/burrito store...but let me tell you it works! There are two different counters, one for burritos/bowls/tacos, and another for coffee drinks. My husband and I stumbled upon here to grab an afternoon coffee, and we ended up coming back later that evening for dinner, and grabbing breakfast burritos on our way out of town later in the week. The food was fresh, delicious, and employees were friendly and efficient. I will tell you there was a line for dinner & for breakfast on Saturday, but it moves pretty quickly. It also seems like this is a common issue on the entire island....so just something to be aware of! Next time I am in Hilton Head I will definitely be coming back to Java Burrito! read more

Who would have thought that a burrito company would have such amazing lattes! I was blown away from the moment I walked into the place! Such friendly faces with southern charm. They had a cute little gift shop in the front where you could buy memorabilia from the shop. We proceeded straight to the coffee to start our day. The hubs got the matcha latte and I got the honey lavender latte. I am very particular about my lavender lattes, and this one blew me out of the water! I asked for it with oat milk and there was surprisingly lavender on the top. Just delicious! Will definitely be back before we leave Hilton head to try the beet root latte and the food! Hubby and I split a steak burrito for a late breakfast brunch thing and it was just what my body needed before a 3 hour bike ride around the island. No skimpy on the protein, no up charges like crazy, and the Arbol sauce was whispering spicy nothings in my ear...ok I'll stop but it was excellent. Great ingredients fresh and hot. There was nobody behind us, but we felt rushed into starting our order. They offered zero guidance on the menu and were visibly annoyed when we paused to figure out what toppings we wanted. I had a chicken quesadilla and added bacon and the first (and every subsequent bite) was bliss. They've been strict with their covid guidelines, and they need to be with how popular they are. This is our go-to place for tacos/burritos on the island. Staff is always friendly and the food is awesome! They load you up with meat of your choice (or beans for the non-carnivores) and the toppings are fresh. They say they have the best margarita in SC...let me tell ya, it's TRUE! Hot afternoon called for a fresh Lime Marg (with salt)...was amazing! After our week on island, we swung in to grab a breakfast burrito and iced coffee for the road. Again, great food and great tasting iced coffee. (Tip: order breakfast online for pick up...place gets busy in the AM). Because of terrific Yelp reviews we biked here for breakfast. We're trying to eat in moderation this vacation (hah!), so I asked how big the breakfast sandwich was. The guy held up this giant foil wrapped square. So we bought one (with the added pico, guacamole and lettuce along with egg, cheese and bacon on brioche). So good!!!! It was so good we determined we would have their salad for lunch after we finished biking. We got the pork salad and even margaritas on the side. Generous portions.
